What Else Can Go WRONG !!!!!
*slim* replied to sxevan9's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am sorry that you are going through so much. You said it right about how hard we have had to work just to get the surgery. If people understood the mental anguish that we go through trying to get all of the requirements handled... You stay strong. Just remember why you were doing this in the first place. Keep that in mind. It will all work out. -

I wonder if you tell the doctor just how much you are struggling with hunger, if they will give more fill on the first go round than they normally do? I have spoken to another poster who is also going to my doctor. She said that he didn't give much fill on the first go round. I really don't want to get a fill only to still be as hungry as I am right now. That would really suck eggs. -
SNT, that actually happened to me on Monday. I thought our early voting started then, but needless to say, I was wrong.

I say to heck with that psych. You know you a whole lot better than that doctor that has never seen you before and probably won't after. If that doctor puts on the form that they don't recommend you for surgery, talk to your surgeon about seeing a different psych.

Has Anyone Cheated On The Pre-Op Liquid Diet ?
*slim* replied to Tyme2GetRite's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You should visit all parts of the forum. There is so much information every where. I enjoy reading in the forum for my month, but that isn't the only place I go. Lurk and enjoy! Sorry to highjack your thread for a minute Tyme2GetRite! -
Anyone not have to do 6 months w/BC BS PPO?
*slim* replied to Mrsace13's topic in Insurance & Financing
I know you asked if anyone DIDN'T have to do the 6 months diet, but here is what happened with me. I have BCBS PPO, and it is stated that I am to have tried a 6 month diet. BUT they accepted a six month period from less than 2 years ago where I went to the doctor every month for six months. Diet wasn't the reason I went to the doctor, but it was discussed. The doctor's office was glad to fill out the six month diet papers showing my weight and BMI and the diets discussed. If you had a period like that in the last 2 years, they may accept that without you having to start over with a diet. Or if you have had more than one visit in a row now, maybe you could continue those so that you are not starting over. This is a "just in case you have to" measure. I hope that it turns out that you don't have to do one. I think you can send emails to BCBSAL's customer service. If you can, they can send you what is exactly stated in your policy. That way you can print a hard copy or save it. I did that with BCBSIL and saved the information for later. Good luck to you! -
Vitamins - Is there a chewable iron and fatty acid?
*slim* replied to a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Is this the Iron Melts that you are talking about? Iron Melts If it is, does it mess with your stomach? My PCP has been trying to get me on iron for years for poor iron, but have been unable to tolerate the iron tablets that I have found here in my area. -
Don't say it. I don't know if I can take any more of this election! No lawsuits to recount FL! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

*slim* replied to terilynn112's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That is how I feel right now. My problem is, I don't think my doctor is going to give me much of a fill. That means another month of starving. How did you handle it? Or did your doctor give you enough fill the first go round to stop the feeling of starvation? -
PJTP I just early voted! Election season is SO over for me! Now if I could just not have to hear or see any more commercials! grrrr:angry_smile:

Has Anyone Cheated On The Pre-Op Liquid Diet ?
*slim* replied to Tyme2GetRite's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I cheated. I was called in to work during the middle of the night, and passed a small line at Krystal's. I knew with the line that the Krystal's were going to be fresh. I ate 2 cheese Krystal's on day 6 of my liquid diet. I have to tell you the truth and say that they were awesome, but I felt so guilty after that. I also had to start over the entire process of not feeling so good without the carbs. -
Posting just to post...SNT, you are going to do so well tomorrow!

I was ok alone. I didn't actually start feeling bad until day 5.

I did a glance through once, I couldn't go back. I also can't watch the view.

Why Don't We Give A Little Update Where We're At
*slim* replied to speck's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums

A Different Sort of Question
*slim* replied to salome000's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are obviously very self aware. Maybe now, while in the process of losing the weight for good, is the time to seek help with whatever you know your issues to be. That way you can deal with this now, rather than risk becoming someone that you don't want to be later. Good luck with whatever your decide to do! -
Why Don't We Give A Little Update Where We're At

1st. You are not gross. Don't let her jealousy get to you. That is what it is. She sees that you are making a change in your life for the better, and she is still languishing where she is. You are not weird, gross, or any other crazy thing that woman can come up with. When you go back to work with your healthier body, she is going to be even more jealous so be ready. 2nd. No one but another bandster (or other WLS) is going to really understand the pre-op diet. So even if they make fun of it, so what? You are doing this for you. You are going to do so awesome tomorrow! Don't let the knuckleheads ruin your time to shine! -
Posting just to post it's Wednesday! Almost on the other side of the hump!

Why cant i have sex?!?!
*slim* replied to ImWithTheBand22's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not sure. My doctor said to resume sex whenever I felt comfortable. -
Anyone have any good low carb recipes or food items that are quick and satisfying?
*slim* replied to Ezma's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Try them all slowly, maybe you can still eat most of them. -
If you like mushrooms and can get them down, I made a pizza crust out of a large portabello mushroom cap. It satisfied my pizza craving. I also made pizza using whole wheat pita bread. It came out crispy (just shy of cracker like), and my son actually liked this one.
