I am lucky in that my doctor does the fills under fluro in his office. Basically what they do is similar to having an upper GI. You drink a small amount of barium while they look at your band. Then you sip some water while they tighten the band. It's pretty cool to see.

Newly banded - have questions
*slim* replied to Kritzz's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Walking really helps with the gas. Also, your biggest incision is probably your port. Good luck on your journey! -
I live in Tennessee. Hi my name is slim and I am a scale addict.
-
You are making some major changes in your life. You have a right to be stressed. Just keep you mind on making it through the actual move. The rest of it will come in time. Once you are in your new place, sleeping in your own bed, things will calm. I wish you the best.

How many sizes did u go down vs. the amt you've lost? curious..
*slim* replied to Crummy78's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow! All of you are doing so well! I think you all are an inspiration to us only in the beginning stages! Keep up the awesome job! I was apparently in denial about what size I wore. Now my size 20 pants are fitting the way that I THOUGHT they fit before. They are loose, but not loose enough to go down in size just yet. It's getting there! -
No Depression - Will that get me denied?
*slim* replied to jackiemhornig's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree with snowbird. Also, during my evaluation, they said that they are also trying to make sure that you don't have an underlying eating disorder like binge eating that the band won't conquer. -
Could you have him come hide my scale? I am sure if HE hides, I won't find it.

I will try the protein drink. Something has to give on this. I can't get another fill for a month. I don't want to gain weight during that time, so I am using all of my will power (which if it was a lot of will power, I wouldn't be fat) to not choose the wrong things. ugg. I knew this was going to be hard work, but dag!
-
luluc-I have had a fill. I THINK I can tell a difference, just not much of one. I eat about a cup of food in one sitting, but after about an hour, I am hungry. I don't mean head hunger. I mean stomach grumbling with hunger pains. I have been trying to drink something when I feel it in hopes of stopping the awful feeling.

I am starving. I get full faster, but it doesn't last long at all. It kills me to not snack. I haven't passed you though. It will be a LONG time before I have a 1 in front of my weight like you have. I have PCOS too, so I understand about holding on to the weight.

I no longer have boob do (stomach sticking out more than the boobs do)! I had been so discouraged about the scale that I had not noticed that there were still changes. I know that is minor, but it has been a long time since I looked down and saw something other than boobs and belly. Where else could I come and be happy to announce something so embarrassing?!?!

That is great! I have a necklace in my collection that I hope to have fit correctly before this is all over.

Way to go!!

Man, I thought I would never get back on here! Hi everyone! Fanny, your man is a cutie! Plain, I want to see pics of pecs soon! luluc, wow, your weightloss is amazing! SNT, I remember my first bite of refried beans....I thought I was in heaven.
-
PJTP Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining about my little bit of weight loss, but why does it have to be from my boobs? They weren't all that big to begin with. Now they are shrinking? WTH?
-
Well, not only is my butt changing shape, but I am losing my boobs!!! ***sobbing*** Those were my best assets! They are going down like the Titanic!
-
PJTP I will be glad when I can get into some pants that have a 1 in front of a number. I will be kissing the ground to be in those single digits that you ladies are talking about. I haven't seen those sizes since my college days. Back when I THOUGHT I was fat before. Ha! Who knew?

Too soon to vacuum?
*slim* replied to GratefulHeart's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I guess I am grateful to my doctor who said no vacuuming or sweeping for 4 weeks. I took him at his word and didn't do any of those. ;-p I made sure to show the paper to my family so that when I sat on my butt for a month, I had a doctor's excuse. lol -
I have a hard time just laying on my stomach because of it. It doesn't hurt, I just feel it. ewww
-
As long as you both washed it down with a 12 pack of light beer, every thing should be OK!

How sweet Fanny!

I didn't get gas until day 5. None of the pain or gas medicines helped. The only thing that helped was walking. Any time the pain hit, I would get up and start walking. It helped so much. So get up and walk, walk, walk. Sounds trite, but it's true. I hope you feel better soon.

You really sound like you are too tight. You sound like you need a slight unfill. Call your doctor to have him/her to check you out.
-
I think Debbie said it perfectly. All I can add is an extra ((((hug)))) just for you. We are all in this together. I don't have a teenager yet, but I remember what a pain in the rear I was as a teen. I feel for you. I am happy to listen any time. Keep your chin up. When you think about we are supposed to average 1-2 pounds a week, and you have lost 22, you are doing awesome!
