Happy Halloween! Good morning to everyone in the States! Good evening to everyone in Australia! hmmmm Who else? Oh, Happy Birthday to the posting just to post thread! Going to eat my bag of 12 gut buster burgers, french fries, and diet coke. That's ok with the band, right?
-
It really is going to depend on how aggressive your doctor is going to be with the fills. My doctor isn't very aggressive, so after my first fill, I can still eat anything. I am trying really hard not to. I get full a little faster, but I am hungry again in maybe 2 hours. I can understand why he does it (to help me get used to having restriction), but if I am supposed to only eat 3 meals a day with no snacks, I am starving before my next meal. It is really tough. I hope that you have a better experience after your first fill.
-
I'm glad that both of you will be getting your fills soon. I can understand the hunger that goes with not having a fill. Heck, I have had a fill and still understand the hunger.
-
I'v never met or seen Dr. Fromm or Paynter. I have kind of given up on ever actually getting my money from them. If they at least pay for my fill out of it, I will be happy.
-
Wow, I have SO not reached this point (I really wish that I would reach it soon). Are you happy about it? Or are you mourning food all over again like at the very beginning?
-
I am not sure. You might try Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. I know that they have a lap band program. You could also try Dr. Jaime Ponce at the gastric band institute. The number is (423)899-1000. I go there, but am unsure if they handle patients banded somewhere else. Good luck!

luluc-I thought I saw in a thread somewhere that you sometimes have a protein shake when you work out extra hard. Do you drink that before you work out, or after?
-
LMAO at all of you!

I agree, Johnna doesn't really apprear to know what she is doing. I just don't understand it. You are also right about Brooke. She looks so much bigger than she did the first few times that I saw her. She did my fill too. That was an odd experience with that needle sticking out of my body while I am standing there. Dr. Ponce came in while she was doing it. He doesn't seem to talk much, have you noticed that?
-
I'm glad that you are doing ok. Just keep sipping some fluids to keep you hydrated.
-
she really did it.

I just talked about this in another thread! LMAO! I can't see my weight loss, but my boobs said bye-bye? Heck, I can't change pants size, but I had to take a link out of my watch! Apparently, according to my body, I only had extra weight on my wrists and boobs. Who knew?
-
You know you said a mouth full Carrie. I asked her over two weeks ago about my over payment. She finally called me today to say that they haven't paid me back because they are now waiting to see if my insurance pays for fill on the 23rd. Why would that have anything to do with me paying them more money than they should have gotten for my surgery?
-
Teri, I hope the fact that we haven't heard from you is because you feel so much better that you are out doing something with your kids. Not that you feel worse than you did. Check in when you have a chance. I hope you are feeling better and just out.
-
I agree with Debbie. The least they can do is numb your skin. I hope that it goes or has gone better today.
-
True, but this thread hasn't gone even a day(heck not even an hour:biggrin:) without someone posting on it. SNT, woohoo on the weight loss.
-
Is it just me, or are a lot of really old threads being brought to the top? I have almost posted in threads that hadn't had a post since like the beginning of the year or even last year because someone has gone in to answer a year old question.
-
I always forget about the time difference. Sorry, good evening then. Obviously not.

PJTP- Good morning everyone!

They are notorious for not returning phone calls. It took about a week for me to get the call for my appointment to memorial. If push comes to shove, you can call Memorial yourself and tell them that Dr. Ponce's office was supposed to call. They can then get the ball rolling for you. That's good about watching what you eat. That is one of the hardest parts, so getting a jump start on it can't do anything but help. Keep up the good work!

You are a brave, brave woman.

Sorry, I'm a little late introducing myself....

Welcome! I was banded a few days after you. It's good that you are losing weight well. I would talk to your doctor about when is a good time for another fill. My doctor has me scheduled for another fill the week before Thanksgiving. I could have chosen the week after, but why wait? Either I can't eat everything this year, or next. Might as well, start now. Good luck decided when to have that fill. -
Get some immodium. Also, there is an over the counter medicine (I think its called emitrol) that can help with the nausea until maybe you can get a prescription for zofran. I hope you feel better soon!

You are not crazy. I understand exactly where you are. I am there too. I have been fluctuating for the last few days between 31-33. My scale did hit 27 once, but I stepped on it again an hour later and it was back to 31. My pants aren't falling off just yet. I must have been wearing them really tight (I didn't notice or I was in denial, either way=bad) because now they fit loosely. I don't have a lot of clothes either. I have lots of uniforms for work, but no real clothes. I was too embarrassed to shop for clothes. I started weeding out my closet and got depressed, so I haven't done it any more. I have been wearing sweat pants on the days that I don't have to work. That's ok, we will make it through this ok. You will buy a couple of outfits to tide you over. Then in a few weeks, they will be too big, so don't spend a lot. We will make it out to the other side of this. We will be happy we did this.

Oh no! Thanksgiving is coming!!!!!
*slim* replied to theninside's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I won't fuss. I am having my 2nd fill the week before Thanksgiving. I could have scheduled it for the week after and still been able to eat everything. I decided that I needed to proceed as I plan to live, so I plan to not eat at the large family gathering where everyone will be watching to see what I eat. Instead, I will eat with my DH and son. That way, if something doesn't agree, I am at home with my own toilet. (I know, TMI)
