Massive Regrets Frustration - you’re my only hope
MountainClover replied to ShelleyBelley's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Wow!! I am so sorry you are having such a rough time. I think one of your problems is dehydration, which will make you pass out. I would suggest you go to the Emergency dept and see if they can give you an IV drip. Then they may be able to look into why you cant keep anything down. It could be why you are having flu like symptoms too. I sure hope you feel better. -
I woke up yesterday in the middle of the night with my heart racing and feeling dizzy and light headed. I had a cardiologist appointment at 8am for cardiology cleareance. Needless to say I didnt get that clearance and was sent straight to the hospital in A fib. My heart eventually straightened itself out on its own and I was send home with metoprolol and plans to get on a blood thinner. My question is can I still have the gastric bypass surgery with A fib? I am terrifed they are going to say that I cant have the surgery now because of the blood thinner. They wanted me to go on Eliquis but with my insurance it costs $370. I cant pay that every month, so Im waiting for the dr to call in something else. Please tell me this is not the end of the journey for me.

Anyone else doing this in their 60's?
MountainClover replied to Teresa Eschenbaum's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Im having my bypass in 1 week and I am 69!! I am so excited!!! -
He needs to go back to the surgeon and demand the dr to look into why this is happening. There has got to be a reason he cant eat. If that surgeon wont do anything he need to go to a different one.

Advanced Recovery shakes

I would ask your dr if you can use something else but if they insist on this product, try putting flavorings in it. You could add sugar free chocolate syrup or frozen fruit and put it in a blender with ice, unless youre on a liquid preop diet. -
Have you tried using Gasx after you eat?

HOW DO YOU HANDLE THE QUESTIONS
MountainClover replied to kla7403's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
If someone asks I will tell them because maybe they are looking for answers for their problem too or someone they love. I had 2 people tell me that they had a gastric bypass 10 years before. l had always known them thin so I was surprised to learn that they had had a bypass, but also encouraged by that too. I mean they have both kept they weight of for 10 years!! These two ladies are the reason I got started on the path of weight loss. So if some one asks me I will tell them truthfully. -

Hello All, introducing myself
MountainClover replied to hills&valleys's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Welcome! Its interesting that you say there may be a corallation between TBI and weight gain. My son in law was always slim until he fell and had a severe head injury. He gained a huge amount of weight and developed diabetes because of it. We just thought it was because he wasnt able to be as active and because he sleep eats in the middle of the night. He is also looking into WLS. Good luck to you. I hope you get to have your surgery soon. I am also just waiting for my Echo and my EGD and hopefully will have a date too. -
Got my date!

I am still waiting for my surgery, but I just had to tell you all I finally got to onderland today!!! I weighed in at 198.8 this morning!! I am so proud of myself. I have one more visit to my dietician and NP before I can even begin to have my surgery scheduled. I also still need to get cardiac clearence and an EGD done but I'm going to lose as much as I can before my surgery.

Do they fill you up? Since they are 200 calories I would not want to use them as a snack but a meal replacement.
