I still think the standardized testing is to blame. All kids learn is how to fill in the dot on the stupid tests. The teachers gear the lessons plans to teach what little, and I do mean little will be on those tests. It is the results from those tests that say if they get a raise or get to keep their jobs. As a side note, while working in a Burger King for extra coin in college, I over heard this conversation: Co-worker: I'm sorry sir, we dont take checks Customer: But its a traveller's cheque Co-worker: Right and we dont take checks Customer: But the sign says you honor American Express Co-worker: Yes, but thats a credit card. At that point, I walked over to see what was going on. I looked at what the customer had and it was a $50 dollar AE travellers cheque. I took my co-worker, its a travellers cheque, it works like a real $50 bill. Of course, co-worker wouldnt believe me and went off in search of the manager. He came out and verified that we DO take those. Co-worker finishes ringing up order and getting food for customer, then I hear this question; "Hey, I dont have any Travellers Cheque $1 bills, do you?" I wanted to scream.

Laurend, I soo dont blame you for being disappointed. And totally agree with your stance. As a biology major, I know how the non-major's looked at the bio class, "Its not my major, what do I care?" Probably a good deal of clueless freshmen mixed in with upper classmen who dont care anymore and just want to graduate. 65 as an average is pretty good for a non-major class. Its a D. As a lab assistant when I was in college, I heard the stupidest excuses and graded the most horrible lab tests. On a side note, while grading lab tests for my prof. for Zoology, the first question on the test was: "what is the scientific name for the domestic pig?" (and yes, they were told this question would be on the test) Some of my more favorite answers: Oinkus Barbeq-us Big-un hog-un and my personal all time favorite, Sus Scrotum

See, now, I have a problem with this statement of heaven that we will see out ancestors and loved ones and such. What if by chance some of us were right and some of us were wrong and only some of us got to heaven. I personally think that we would miss the people that we loved, maybe feel regret or remorse that they didnt get in to heaven. What a way to spend in eternity. What if my uncle Mort did get in, but I didnt like him, now he is here... with me for eternity. Yes, I think that when we die if we live the way God wants us to, we will go to heaven, but I think our joyful reunion will be with God, we will not have a rememberance of this life to hinder us in the great beyond. While it is still comforting to think that my favorite Grandparent made it to heaven, when I get there, I dont think my sprit will think upon the earthly things or any one associated with this life anymore. Cant have clique's in heaven.

Eat too much then PB on them. Heck, worked for my daughter when she was an infant. If she didnt like them, I swear that child would spit up on them on purpose. All humor set a side. I think there is a jealousy and a basic knowledge of how the surgery works that is scaring them. I have an active sabatoure in my house as well. Usually, its me, however, my hubby subconciously plays in to it. It ususally works along these lines.. hubby: "hey, lets go to 'insert ice cream place here' and get a shake." me:" nah, not hungry" hubby:" have you had enough protien? you can get one with protien powder in it" Me:"ok" Granted, I DO get a shake with protien powder, and usually I have NOT had enough protien that day. but I didnt need the extra 300 calories that comes with it.

Im a chick that agrees with TOM, I think weddings are over the top. I did have a small church wedding and a small reception. I did spend more on my 7 day cruise to Alaska than on my entire wedding. (tickets and $500 spending cash) I waiver from the "oh the horror the younger one feels" to the "she's got to learn sometime" side of the fence. You mentioned that the younger lived with the Auntie for a while. Did the older one? If the older one didnt, is the Auntie's way of making up for that?
