    Drinking too fast?

Ok, dumb question. I know that you can eat too fast, but can you drink to fast? How much is too fast? If I am drinking quickly and I feel "full" from drinking is that too fast? I am going under the assumption that its a liquid, you cant strech your pouch, but it doesnt "drain" out of your pouch as quick as I am used to drinking. How much/quick do you drink?

    New Orleans in Danger again

Handsome?? Handsome? King of the baaad hairdo? Maybe in a geeky kinda way. But with that kind of money, I think I could let my standards drop. Granted if I had the money I wouldnt be on reality tv either. And the weather makes the 3rd thing you cant talk about with friends. (no religion or politics)

    New Orleans in Danger again

I have live thru a couple of hurricanes. A couple of tropical storms and a couple of really bad summer thunderstorms. Im not un-compasionate, and I dont think Funny is either. But I will agree, if its not a 3 or over, its rain. I am more freaked out by bad summer thunderstorms than a heavily forcasted hurricane. It has to do with the fact that I am prepared for the hurricane and not for the thunderstorm. And it was a bad thunderstorm that caused my place to be flooded and i lost every picture i took in college. (and some clothes and other replaceable crap, but am still to this day, pissed about the pictures) When I look at the damage wrought by nature, I greive for the unreplaceable memories people have lost, not the fact that the house was damaged. If they had insurance, the house and contents will be replaced. And as long as they dont have State Farm, (see CNN) they will be replaced.

    2006 Christmas Wish List

I wondering if I should lower my goal for Christmas? Since having surgery, I am down to 281, my Christmas goal is 275. I think I will make that by middle/end of Sept. What would be a reasonable goal? 260? 250? I have no clue how fast/slow this weight is gonna come off. I think I am going in to the "just got banded" freak out stage. Scared/hopeful/nervous-- you know, the old "oh dear sweet God, is this thing really gonna help me" phase

    August Chat - NC

I posted this in the main boards, but can you drink to fast? What happens? does it hurt? Im trying to see if I am drinking to fast or if I am gulping some air. I feel some pressure, not bad, doesnt hurt, but feels like i really need to burb. Some times I do, sometimes I hiccup and one of those will make the feeling go away.
  10. "Knowing her she probably would blab it to someone else.Knowing her she probably would blab it to someone else." and if she does, its a breach in confidentiallity. And I think a hernia can be "done" by a Bariatric surgeon. Dont sweat it. It none of their business if you dont want it to be. <!-- / message --><!-- sig --><!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

  12. I'd say a loud yes to this question. My mother was overweight by about 50 lbs around this time in my life (12yrs old-ish). She had gained this when she was pregnant with my brother. She lost a lot of weight in a short period of time. I was a overweight child. I noticed. I also noticed how she ate, and it wasnt not good. I tried to put two and two together and could not figure it out. I would not ask how she lost weight because I knew that question would lead in to a barage of "you need to lose weight" discussions. I only found out that she lost that weight by using laxitives years and years later. AFTER my own issues with laxitive abuse. 12 year old are very observant and would notice your change. I think simple direct answers on WLS surgery would be most beneficial. Especially to the one that is "larger". Then explain how if they learn good habit while they are young, they may not need to have something this drastic when they are older. It hurt me to think that Mom was losing weight, seemingly on her own willpower and eating the same foods that I was and I was not "good enough" or strong enough or something was just wrong with me because I could not do the same. I think that if they dont understand how, by the band being a tool, how you are losing weight, It could cause more harm than good. My biggest thought is, they will see you eating smaller portions and losing weight and not being hungry, they are gonna want to know how Mom suddenly got all this will power and want to know how to get it or why they dont have it.

I agree, a PAP is MUCH worse than a mamogram. and I DO NOT want to know how the oncologist got to your grandfathers bladder. however, I can guess he took the short direct route. owowowowowowow.:omg:

My very first dirty joke I ever told... ever. A Vampire goes in to a bar and the bartender gets really upset. "We dont allow vampires in here, you all make messes and freak people out when you bite them," said the bartender. "I'll be really good. I wont bite anyone. In fact, I came in here only cause I want a glass of hot water for a drink," pleaded the vampire. "Well, all right I guess," and so the bartender goes and gets a coffee cup of hot water for the vampire. He brings it back and says,"So, what are you going to do with the hot water anyway?" The vampire pulls out a used tampon and hollers, "TEA TIME!!" -what can I say.. I was in 7th grade.

    Dr C, hypo-allergenic tape?

    Thank you Elisabeth!
  20. Dr C Just like my Mom, I have found out that I am allergic to adhesives. I am a week out and most of my wounds have scabs. I have two that are kind of open, just the top layer of skin is pulled apart. Do you know of any type of bandage that will not cause a reaction? My poor stomach has blisters where the steri-strips were. Would it help to put benedryl around the wounds, let it dry then put a bandage on it? Anyone else have this issue?
  21. I like EAS carb Control ready made drinks. I am not a vanilla/strawberry person, so I only drink the dark chocolate, fudge or their coffee flavored drinks. Unjury makes protien powder that is sort of unflavored. To me if you put too much, you get an "old milk" kinda flavor.

    The "DeLarla's Back" Fun Thread

My list is short and relatively unimpressive 1. I met Mother Theresa. (yes, more than 2 years ago) 2. Snuck in to the Supreme Court building to watch the justices do their thing. (again, more than 2 years ago) 3. I married the most wonderful dude ever 4. Had the most beauuutiful baby girl, who is no longer a baby and starts school in a week. 5. Got banded last week
