    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

I just finished week 6. I ran 25 minutes, which is supposed to be about 2.25 miles. I'm only getting in about 2 miles. I have scheduled my first 5k race April 22. Is this too slow to be entering a race? I have a mental image of dragging myself across the finish line after everyone else has finished and gone home! I just don't want to embarrass myself.

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

I did a couple of the weeks over. I'm 52 and have absolutely no running history. The weeks I repeated really helped condition me and I don't regret it at all. I am on week 5 day 2. I ran 8 minutes x2 tonight. I smiled all the way home! I'm so amazed. If I can do this...anyone can. Hang in there.

If the pill is an antibiotic for strep, it is most likely available in liquid form. If you can't get the pills down call your pcp and ask them to call in a liquid. Hope you feel better!

I am using the podcast (the DJ Beatsmith one...it was the lesser of 2 evils). I found one night when my mp3 player died during a run, that I do better just watching the time on the treadmill!

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

Carol,I don't post much, but wanted to know I'm experiencing the same feelings. I have finished week four and am seriously considering repeating. I have repeated several levels. I just pictured it getting a little easier by now. I really have to talk myself through the runs. On the bright side, I am feeling stronger and it's kinda addictive! I just keep coming back to this thread for inspiration. Good Luck to us both!!

I also did the 1st day of week three today. I repeated week 1. I may end up repeating week 3!! I'm trying not to get discouraged..but haven't experienced that "runner's high" yet. I'm just proud I've gotten this far and hope it gets easier. Reading this thread every day is honestly what has motivated me, and I thank you all!

I just did my 3rd night of C25K. I did the 25 minutes of intervals and it was only 1.75 miles. I wonder if this is too slow and I should repeat the week? I felt ok, but it just seems slow.

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

Thanks for your help!I am quite sore this morning. Lesson learned. I'm glad you have a rest day in between runs. I did 2 days of the run so far and have done Wii Fit the other days. I don't know what i would do without this website, and I really have enjoyed this thread for motivation and information.

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

I need some advice. I started the c25k this week.I'm running on a treadmill since it's cold outside. I am unfamiliar with a treadmill. I put the incline on 3 and the speed on 3.5. I did the intervals with these settings. Is this ok? I tolerated it fine, so should I continue to increase the speed? Any help appreciated!

You can use your computer for some free work outs. I use you tube in the mornings for a quick 10 minute workout. There are lots in there to choose from. Also join the Discovery Channel's 2009 Weight Loss Challenge. There is a scheduled work out daily you can view. The website is: http://health.discovery.com/national-body-challenge/fitness-day-view.html Good Luck!

My response is the opposite. Since my weight is down some, my hot flashes are greatly diminished. I think it is partly my diet. High carb intake causes me to have horrible hot flashes.
