I just finished week 6. I ran 25 minutes, which is supposed to be about 2.25 miles. I'm only getting in about 2 miles. I have scheduled my first 5k race April 22. Is this too slow to be entering a race? I have a mental image of dragging myself across the finish line after everyone else has finished and gone home! I just don't want to embarrass myself.

I did a couple of the weeks over. I'm 52 and have absolutely no running history. The weeks I repeated really helped condition me and I don't regret it at all. I am on week 5 day 2. I ran 8 minutes x2 tonight. I smiled all the way home! I'm so amazed. If I can do this...anyone can. Hang in there.

Great minds think alike!! Ha!

If the pill is an antibiotic for strep, it is most likely available in liquid form. If you can't get the pills down call your pcp and ask them to call in a liquid. Hope you feel better!

I am using the podcast (the DJ Beatsmith one...it was the lesser of 2 evils). I found one night when my mp3 player died during a run, that I do better just watching the time on the treadmill!

Carol,I don't post much, but wanted to know I'm experiencing the same feelings. I have finished week four and am seriously considering repeating. I have repeated several levels. I just pictured it getting a little easier by now. I really have to talk myself through the runs. On the bright side, I am feeling stronger and it's kinda addictive! I just keep coming back to this thread for inspiration. Good Luck to us both!!

I also did the 1st day of week three today. I repeated week 1. I may end up repeating week 3!! I'm trying not to get discouraged..but haven't experienced that "runner's high" yet. I'm just proud I've gotten this far and hope it gets easier. Reading this thread every day is honestly what has motivated me, and I thank you all!

I just did my 3rd night of C25K. I did the 25 minutes of intervals and it was only 1.75 miles. I wonder if this is too slow and I should repeat the week? I felt ok, but it just seems slow.

Thanks for your help!I am quite sore this morning. Lesson learned. I'm glad you have a rest day in between runs. I did 2 days of the run so far and have done Wii Fit the other days. I don't know what i would do without this website, and I really have enjoyed this thread for motivation and information.

I need some advice. I started the c25k this week.I'm running on a treadmill since it's cold outside. I am unfamiliar with a treadmill. I put the incline on 3 and the speed on 3.5. I did the intervals with these settings. Is this ok? I tolerated it fine, so should I continue to increase the speed? Any help appreciated!

You can use your computer for some free work outs. I use you tube in the mornings for a quick 10 minute workout. There are lots in there to choose from. Also join the Discovery Channel's 2009 Weight Loss Challenge. There is a scheduled work out daily you can view. The website is: http://health.discovery.com/national-body-challenge/fitness-day-view.html Good Luck!

My response is the opposite. Since my weight is down some, my hot flashes are greatly diminished. I think it is partly my diet. High carb intake causes me to have horrible hot flashes.

I had a recent fill also. This very same thing happens to me. I have figured out that it is when I take a last few bites after I am no longer hungry.I am practicing stopping before I actually feel really full.I think we have the misconception that full actually is uncomfortable, when actually it should mean no longer hungry. I have had a little nausea, but not as a rule. Maybe you should contact your dr. about that. Good Luck.

Silly Question
scalingdown08 replied to itsallaboutMEb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm having problems also. Can someone please post the instructions? -
Thanks. I needed some encouragement. My first fill has done nothing and this crazy halloween candy is killing me. Of all times to not have restriction! I'm scheduled to have a fill Nov 19. I just hope I have not stretched my pouch.
-
I also find it to be my signal to stop. I have only had 1 fill and didn't think I had any restriction..unless you count the hiccups

1st fill yesterday, I feel no different!!

I'm right there with you guys. My surgery was sept 12 and first fill Oct 17. No difference! I'm just going to follow the rules and hope for the best. What really bothers me is that the holidays are so close and there will be all that junk to resist! -
Absolutely don't feel alone.I went so far as to mix up the cookie dough! It's in the fridge because I decided not to start up old habits. This is much tougher than I expected. They warn you about the band just being a tool, but I was not prepared for all the mental anguish! No,it's definitely not the easy way out. Hang in there!

I read skinny bitch also and thought I'd never eat meat again!! Have you read that chapter yet? On the other end of the spectrum I just finished "the shack". It's wonderful.
-
I am glad this came up. Everytime I am "pushing the limit" with my eating I get the hiccups. I had my band put in on 9/12 and have not had a fill.I didn't think I had any restriction...but maybe I do. I have never had chest pain or PB'd.

You can also freeze the milk into ice cubes and use it instead of regular ice. That add some extra protein

How do you deal with no drinks during eating?

When you are still on full liquids do you wait 30 minutes after eating soup, yogurt etc. to drink? -
For Those Who Have Been Banded A While
scalingdown08 replied to speck's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded on the 12th. I have been sort of sipping continuously without problems, if this is wrong someone let me know. -
Have you tried drinking plain cold water in addition to the protein water? For some reason the water goes down easier for me than something flavored. Probably some of your symptoms are related to dehydration. I am 4 days post op and tried this yesterday. Today I feel human again. Hope you feel better.
