  4. How do you like the Fill center usa? What's the cost?
  5. Wow, free fills for life, 1 year, 2 years! My dr. offers 6mos. and still hasn't told me what I'll be paying after that! Must be alot! And he's dragging his feet giving me fills now! Must be wanting me to go slow so he can make more $$ after these 6mos. are up!

    Slow Losers Unite!

I hate losing slow, but it's better than no loss at all! My surgery was 08/05/08, and I'm down 20lbs. I was hoping to be below 200lbs by Nov., oh well. slow and steady wins the race...

    I need some encouragement!

I'm trying to be happy about slow weight loss too, but it's really hard. I've had 2 fills so far and it seems like the 'sweet spot' is lasting about 2 weeks, and I think I'm gaining weight during the next 2 weeks before my dr. lets me come back in for the next fill. This time I asked to reschedule my appt. due to thanksgiving (my appt.was on the 21), so I'm getting in a little bit earlier. I'm sure the three lbs I've lost can be found really easily if I'm not careful. But one lb. a week is really good. Remember what it was like to try to lose that 1 lb. before the help of the lab band!? Hey ABRENNER, I have relatives in Bethlaham, Pa.!
  8. Hey oneflew, Just curious, why did you go to college station instead of Austin for lab band?

    Waco Band Buddies

Hi! I live in Temple, had my surgery Aug. 05 @ KDH. The nurse just called about getting a support group together on Tuesdays, possibly the end of the month. I'm sure any lab band patients would be welcome. Much closer than Dallas!

    in Bell Co. Texas

I had my lab band Aug. 05, 08 in Temple at KDH. I'm 43, married, two children(18 yr. & 15 yr.), just had my 1st fill 09/17. Since surgery I've lost 3lbs. (or 1lb. at the dr. office). In Dec. of 07 I weighed 234lbs. and two wks before surgery 226lbs. the day of surgery I was 217lbs. now 5 wks after surgery I'm 210lbs. (or 215 at the dr. office). My dr. is new at lab band, Scott and White Hospital is the big hosp. in the area and Kings' Daughter's is the smaller one so they are just now starting, I was one of the first 3 to have surgery. Would be great to talk to someone who has an idea of what's going on, I should don't!
  11. I'm not feeling restricted very much at all. When the dr. had me drink in the office after he finished with the fill I felt fine and no restriction at all, shouldn't I feel a little bit? I even asked him if he thought he should fill it a little more before I leave and he would not. After 5 wks his office scale says I've only lost 1lb. , I was hoping to see maybe 5lbs by now. What's happening?

    first fill fears

Thank you for your reply. That really makes me feel better. Today is my first day after getting my first fill. I've had liquids all day except for dinner which was olive garden for a friend's b-day, so I had a little salad and some pasta fagoli soup, didn't feel very full, but now I'm feeling like I overate...

    first fill fears

Okay, so my dr. has just started doing lap bands @ Kings' Daughter's Hosp. here in Temple and I'm # 3 of his first to get his proctorship(?). Not that I don't trust him but some of the things he says and what I'm reading here don't mesh. I'm tempted to just listen to what's being said here, if its in the majority. I had my first fill today and he was not happy with me because one of the other lady's had lost over 40 lbs in 5 wks since surgery (08/05/08). I said that's not good, this time should have been just for healing and losing a few pounds, plus I told him I didn't want to lose more that 2lbs a wk and 1 lb would be better. Also I had emailed him a couple of wks ago and wondered if I was stretching my pouch because I could eat more and he never responded. When I asked him today he said it's possible, I wish he would've said that before, I could've done something, although I don't know what to do it you've stretched the pouch, does someone know? I had soup for dinner tonight and a bottle of water and feel very full, two bowls of soup. I'm suppose to do liquids for this week and back to regular eating next week. I went in really afraid of getting this fill but he did numb the area first but now I have a whole different set of fears! Please someone tell me if I'm totally messin myself up.

    Bloating

I was banded 8/05 and although I have had regular bms I feel very bloated. Had my 1st check up since surgery and dr. said that its just normal. He also said I could eat, high glycemic foods, stay with soft, ckn. breast, chew slowly, etc... after 3 weeks I thought that was great although everything I've read said not to. Well, lunch was way too much, I think I'll stick to the liquid diet longer!
  15. I've just reached my 1 week mark. Got banded on Tues. of last week, by Fri. I was hungry. My dr. wanted only liquids and yogurt, no more protein/high cal. drinks. I don't eat dairy so I've been doing foods that are the consistancy of yogurt, i.e. mashed potatoes, refried beans, guacamole. I was still feeling really hungry and decided to look on this site to see what's up and found that I really needed more protein. So I bought some protein water, Special K and some stuff @ GNC. That's helped I think. I really don't want to mess up.
