  1. Happy 41st Birthday patrick!

  2. 3 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 3rd Anniversary patrick!

  3. Patrick~

I went for my post-op this morning and I am down 17 lbs from my pre-op appt. I am just afraid it will stop! I know it will slow down when I move to mushies, just getting more calories will do that.

I didn't have bad gas pain. I was up and walking right away after surgery. That really seemed to help move things along. I know that others have said they used the used the Gas-X strips.

  4. My name is Angela and I am 36 years old. I live in Gainesville, GA with my husband and 16 year old son. I work in one of the state's largest school district at the central office level. My official starting weight is 230, but I have lost 8 pounds during the pre-op diet phase. I am scheduled to be banded tomorrow morning (August 15th) at 7:30! :tongue_smilie: I guess I am having all of the normal feelings.....excited, scared, worried....just lots of emotions. I am worried that I won't be able to eat once it is done, that I will be hungry, pain (I have read many of you have experience a lot of gas pain), how can I manage the pain, what if it doesn't work and I have paid all of this money, how long will it be before I get to buy some new clothes in a SMALLER size,.....all of that kind of stuff. I do not personally know someone who has gone through the procedure....but I would love to actually talk to someone......so this forum is great! I look forward to sharing my experience with you guys.
  5. Wow! You have lost A LOT of weight in less than 10 days! I hope I do as well as you have! Congrats!

Question: How did you deal with the gas pains? Does anything make it better?

  6. Thank you for your honesty. This forum is a great resource! Could I ask you where you got the tracker of your weight loss that is at the bottom of most everyone's posts? I can't seem to find it.
  7. I am scheduled for August 15th, too! Just 2 days away. Like you, I am a little nervous.....I guess it is normal to question some things....like will it work? what if I don't loose the weight? will I be hungry (especially the first 2 weeks after surgery)? Good luck...and let's keep in touch with our progress
  8. So, do you think I could go back to work on Tuesday or should I plan to be out longer? Were you hungry those first two weeks after begin banded? I have been told I would be on a liquid diet for the first week and mushy liquids (soft scrambled eggs, watery oatmeal) the second week. I am just wondering how I will do mentally if I am starving.
  9. My surgery is scheduled for August 15th and I would love to talk with others who have been through the process. Bottom line, I am wanting to know what to expect a couple of days after the procedures, a week, 2 weeks, etc. Will I be hunger? In pain? The surgery is on Friday and my doctor told me if I felt like it I could return to work (desk job) on Tuesday. Is that realistic?
