Highly offended by the ladies of "The View"
formykids replied to cuddlebug's topic in The Gals' Room
I am not sure how anyone could call surgery the easy way out. I have struggled with weight my whole life, literally,, 9lb baby,,, I am tired of being the fat girl and having people look at me differently. Maybe if the sterotype that everyone should be a size 4 would go away, we would not have to stress out so bad about our weight. It is sad that people are judged for trying to get healthy.... I don't think rosie and joy realize all the therapy and test you have to go through to even qualify for surgery. I am really dissapointed in the comments they made. -
anyone have surgery in Maine

Thanks for replying lizrbit, I went to a new doctor today, Dr Cobean in portland. He didn't say alot but is going to send me for a fill.. My original doctor retired so I have been over a year with out a Doc. I hope to get the weight loss moving again... I have been really dissapointed with my results so far. I am almost at 2 and a half years and have not seen alot of weightloss. I hope this is my second chance to get the scales moving again. Good luck with your surgery and when you get back to maine I hope you can find a fill doc up there in northern maine. -
Hi fellow Mainers, I am from standish Maine and had my surgery with Dr Aslam. He has recently retired. Left with no doc now.....

I use skype to chat with a family member who is serving in the military over in Iraq. It is a wonderful way to stay intouch and it is free, you just need a microphone and web cam.

This was just what I needed to hear. Thanks

Hi all, I am new to this site but have found reading all of the post very helpful. I am a year and a half post banding and have not had alot of weight loss. and for the last 6 months or so I have not had any. My doctor has retired so I need to find a new doctor to look after my band. I feel like I need to be filled but it seems like fills don't keep me restricted for long. Maybe I just have not had enough of a fill yet. I am seeing my doctor on saturday, he has retired but will see his patients every 6 months or so but that makes it hard when you need a fill. so wish me luck, I am hoping for a fill so I can get the weight loss started again. I am so discouraged.

well I had a fill with my Dr. then he gave me my medical records so I could try to find a new doc. I feel like I don't know that much about my band. I keep reading post that say people have a 4cc band and I don't even know how many cc's my band is. I looked through my records an all is says is a 10mm band was placed. I don't know what size that is. My doc filled me to 2cc's which felt good for first couple of days but today I feel less restricted. I need to find a new doctor here in maine or in new hampshire. my current doc as I said in my original note has retired and is only here 4 times a year. so it will be a long time before I can have any contact with him. I don't even have a doc to call if there is a problem. It is scary..... so if anyone knows how many cc's a 10mm band is I would appreciate it. thanks for all your help and encouraging words, this site is wonderful and I wish I had found it when I first had my surgery.

I am from Maine and I have looked into other doctors but they all want a large fee to take me on as a new patient. I am still looking into finding a doctor. I just had a barium swallow done so I am anxious to get the results of that, I hope all is good and I just need to be filled. I do not know what size band I have. I am going to ask on saturday when I see Dr Aslam. Thank you for your encouraging words. this site is the best..
