I found BariatricPal by searching Google for bariatric surgery support. I had surgery on July 11, 2022. I got weight loss surgery because I wanted to have a longer and healthier life. A bad part has been being worried that I might eat too much and get sick, so I stick to small servings and I end up kinda hungry....the good part though is that I lost 30 lbs before surgery and as of 7 weeks post surgery I'm down another 35, so I've lost 65 lbs since this winter! I was able to wear my tailored suit again which I haven't for around 4-5 years, I'm super happy because I might need to do some job interviews and I will look healthier due to the weight loss and nicer in my nice suit in instead of pieced together coats and pants that I can find in the right sizes....bye bye unmatched suits! I would like to just gain support and get food & lifestyle tips from post-op peeps!
I'm considered to be a pretty friendly person, I like to chat about things I have in common with others. I like to learn new things. Its harder for me to TRY new things, but if there is enough positive feedback about said thing - whether its an activity, a food, etc - then I'll usually try it
What else - I've been married to my hubby for 10 years, we don't have kids, but we have 2 kitties and a dog. I'm in my mid-40s and I live in a suburb of Minneapolis, MN. When I was smaller I liked to go jogging and ride my bike long distances and I'm looking forward to at least biking again, I don't know if my back and knees can take the jogging anymore!
I can't wait to put on a cute bathing suit or tankini next summer and not feel gross!
