Hi, I had two episodes of hair loss. One at 2-3 months out and the other at 6 months out. I don't think it was a lack of Protein because I was very good about drinking my Protein shakes. However, it has stopped completely since switching to a new type of Protein powder called Dream Protein. I don't think the Biotin helped me at all. I've been told that hair loss is sometimes due to the stress of the surgery.

Hi ... I finished the 1/2 in 3:25 ... I'm a walker ... but, I was passing the joggers ... you need to keep a 16 minute pace before they kick you off ... but, you have 3:40 to finish from the time the last participant to cross the start line ... depending on your placement position, you could have an extra 40 minutes to complete the race ... You can still register for the '09 1/2 marathon at Marathon Tour and Travel and Entry Info ... just download the application and send in a check ... they still have openings ... Best of luck!

Hi ... Just completed the Disneyland 1/2 marathon ... shaved 15 minutes off of my time from previous 1/2 marathons ... I guess shedding 25lbs. has really helped ... both Disneyland and Disneyworld are great events ... very flat ... fireworks at the start and Disney characters and bands along the way ... I've done two of the Disneyworld runs, and I'm entered in the 2009 run ... you may want to take the "coast to coast" challenge where you get another medal for participating in both marathons (or 1/2 marathons) ... the medals are pretty impressive ... Best of luck!!!:lovechoc:

Just got banded one week ago yesterday ... I have been training for the Disneyland 1/2 marathon that takes place two weeks from tomorrow ... even though there will be Water stops along the way, any thoughts on using my camelback? ... I'm nervous about the sucking/air problems ... I've finished two 1/2 marathons before :mad2:, but not right after a surgery :confused2:... Thanks, Julie

Hi Lori ... I'm 5'11" and weigh about the same as you ... if you want to wear a smaller size and get the length in jeans, try going to J C Penneys and try on the St. John's Bay brand ... I'm in a 12 and they're loose ... I wear the ultra talls ... Just got banded one week ago today and have lost 7 lbs. from my surgery date (more if you count what I gained after they put all of the IVs in you) ... Good luck on your journey ... Julie

post op day 3 gas pains
Starfish1 replied to peaches1015's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Peaches ... I, too, had surgery on 08/08/08 ... a very lucky day!!! ... I've had gas pains also, but they have gotten so much better as the days go by ... I've talked to others who have said day 2 and 3 are the worst ... as for the walking, I walked 4 miles yesterday and that didn't seem to help the pains, I just felt the tightness in my abdomen ... congrats! ... we are also about a month apart in our birthdays!!! ...
