I also sleep with a fan. Everyone I know sleeps with a fan. That could be because we live in the South, but my brother who lives in Colorado sleeps with a fan. If my fan goes off, I'm immediately awake. That happened last week when the electricity went off for an hour in the middle of the night. I may have been the only person who was aware of that. I still used it as an excuse to get to work late.

I have a problem. My friend is a gambling addict and just hit me up for $1600 which, stupid person that I am, I loaned to her. She already owes me $700 from nearly a year ago which has never been paid back. She did pay me back $300 that she borrowed recently. The $1600 really hurt my checkbook, but I didn't know what to do when she asked me for it. I checked with another friend whom she owes about $3000, and she says that when they go to the casino (we have Indian casinos in Oklahoma), my gambling friend, M, is there before they get there and is still there when they leave. I hate to lose my friend, but I will not give her anymore money. I spoke to another friend who is a former lawyer and a 12 stepper about this and, since I have a signed check for $1600, she suggested that I check with the bank on Wednesday which is when I was supposed to be able to get the money back or to simply cash the check on payday. What do you all think? I am convinced that I cannot save my friend from gambling, but I know that when gamblers hit bottom, they often commit suicide. My other friend say that if M. commits suicide it's her decision, not mine, conveniently forgetting that I saved her from a suicide attempt several years ago. I don't think I could take the guilt. I don't know what to do although I have resolved not to lend M anymore money. I know the friendship will wither, but that's okay. Obviously she isn't much of a friend. I'd appreciate any advice since I've never faced anything like this before. Thanks.

Thanks for this advice. I have already decided to quit giving her money, and I will cash the check as soon as possible. This is a new wrinkle for me since I've never dealt with gambling addiction before. I hope she'll move back to Texas where they don't have all those casinos. Thanks.

Well, I'm wrong. If you press just about F anything it will fix the problem. I forgot the F2 and pressed F6 and it worked too.

I have been having a lot of problems with my wireless network on my Dell laptop so tonight, when it was working for a change, I googled Dell wireless troubleshooting. I finally found the answer to the problem which is to press F2 and it will fix the problem. If any of you are having this problem, try pressing F2. I absolutely love that man who knew the "fix." Does anyone know how to do fn?

gadgetlady -- I see you are from Orange County, one of the wealthiest counties in the U.S. So I'm hardly surprised that you are conservative. After all, the point of having money is to keep it. Unfortunately, many of us don't have money and we'd like a chance to get some. I don't think Rush, Anne and the other right wingnuts are willing to give us that chance. After all they are laughing all the way to the bank.

I'm a second amendment person though I don't own a firearm and probably never will. I just don't want the military and the police to have all the guns. I don't trust the military and police because they have to use force to accomplish anything. I remember who had the guns in Hitler's Germany and it wasn't the ordinary people.

I saw today that Dr. Phil is going to solve this problem. So we don't need to worry.

This is probably just a rant, but I seem to find that PBs happen when I'm really stressed. Today I made a nice omelet and bacon and had taken one bite when the nursing home called to say that Mother was bleeding and they were taking her to the emergency room. My one bite didn't work. I had to throw that up before I could get to the emergency room where the docs figured out that the nursing home had been giving Mother coumadin which thins her blood so much that she bleeds. They stopped that. I came home 4 hours later and warmed up my omelet in the microwave and ate it and it stayed down. Do you think stress has anything to do with PBs? My whole life is a soap opera and I'm a drama queen to the max. But it was odd that I couldn't eat even one bite during this particular drama. I was hungry since I hadn't eaten all day except for some Unjury this morning. I would appreciate info on this problem. Thanks.

This is not a useful person. Talk to useful people like us. We've been there and done that and it works. I have lost 37 pounds since May which is amazing because I was just gaining weight before the band. Screw that person.

Holy Cow! Not only am I armed with underwear and a nightgown, but I also wear socks to bed. I often have to remove them when my feet finally get warm. I have the feeling that I may always be single since I'm just not sexy in bed. I even cover up with my nightgown which is fleece and warm. Oh well, the cat likes to sleep with me.

I used to love caftans because they hid the fact that I was gaining a lot of weight. Now I love scrubs. They are comfortable and one looks pretty good in them. They come in all sorts of strange designs so they should be pretty artistic. I recommend scrubs. My brother, who really is a medical person, lives in them.

Jack -- How come you are so wise. I will try this, but thing seem to get stuck in my esophagus when I'm stressed and I throw up. They never get to my stomach. So I'll check out this sphincter thing. One good thing is that I've lost 2 pound in the last couple of weeks. But having Mother in and out of the hospital is stressful. Also Ozzie has mange again and the poor little thing suffers so much it's really stressful. By the way, I have been eating potato chips. I know this is not good food, but I'm thrilled that they go through the sphincter. I like potato chips though I never ate them before the lapband.

Green, I have 4 dogs and 3 cats. Mealtime is cooperative. If I'm really hungry, they don't get anything until I finish, but if I'm not too hungry they get most of it. The problem with cats is that they will climb right into one's plate. Dogs at least just hang around looking hungry.

Carlene -- Exactly how tight is a virgin on Prom night. Having attended multiple proms in high school, I have to say that I was never stressed enough to barf.

I have noticed this and didn't check this site. I am much colder than I was before the band. I thought I was just old and the weather is cold. I also get hot easily though but that could be menopause. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who is freezing. This is a good sign for weight loss.

I'm a big believer in chocolate Unjury. I drink that for breakfast since my band tightens up in the night. Then I have bacon and eggs about 2 or 3 in the afternoon. I can eat two slices of bacon and two eggs if I go slow. I have to have cooked veggies and I tried to eat and apple and that was a disaster. But cooked fruit and veggies work. We are supposed to get 60 grams of protein a day which I get with Unjury and eggs and bacon. I also eat meat for dinner though not a lot. I just wish I could eat a really good roll.
