  1. I actually had no idea there was a difference between 16W and 16. My husband purchased a pair of 16 and they barely fit. I guess it's the hips. BTW I'm about 223 now (no scale in house)

    Any banders ride motorcycles?

I would advise to be careful with that. Although your band may not be filled you won't notice until later on after a few fills. Motorcycles vibrate as much as heavy metal shows. I love pit shows and I've been going with my husband a lot. It wasn't until last month's fill that I began to get physically sick to the point where I passed out last Friday night. The vibrations from the bass and the double kick drum were vibrating my stomach area so much that I began to get really dizzy and passed out in the crowd. It's amazing what a piece of medical equipment can do for you and to you. Be careful on the road there guys, especially after a few fills lol.

  6. I was banded August 28th (Thursday) and returned to work on Tuesday September 2nd. I should have maybe taken another day because I was tired from the medication by like 2pm but I finished out my day. I have a very high paced desk job but I was able to maintain the pressure even when I started to doze. If you have the short term disability, you should at least take advantage of it for 7-10 days so you can see your surgeon for the post op appointment without rushing like I did. Good luck to you! :crying:

    I need help going forward

NYU medical weight loss center. I'm in NY and will be banded tomorrow. Having degenerative disc disease is what brought me here. Not being able to excersise because of my back is why I'm here. They have seminars and I can say, I have never had any doubts since I met these people. Here's the site, they accept many insurances. NYU Thin For Life If anything send me a PM (pvt. msg.) in a few days, and I'll let you know how it went. Good luck on your journey.
  8. Being banded tomorrow as well :cursing: pepermint tea also helps with gas. Good luck everybody!

Started my 10 day liquid diet today!!!

I started my liquid diet yesterday and I have to say, it was bad but not as bad as I thought it would be. I drank about 4-5 bottles of Water, three slimfast optima shakes, 1 cup of low sodium broth, and an organic gerber baby food green beens package (allowed) just needs some onion powder and some pepper. I have 13 days left of this liquid madness but I dont think I mind it anymore since you have to do it after surgery too. In my opinion try drinking cups of hot liquid, that seems to alleviate some of the hunger pain. Oh and please take your multi-Vitamins with your liquid Breakfast... I took the liberty in drinking them with water when I first got up, I almost threw up. Empty stomach + water+ Multivitamin = disaster! Good Luck

    Now I am Scared!!!

This wont effect your surgery date or anything. I have sleep apnea and the only thing they advise is that you bring the machine the night that you stay at the hospital. They want you to be comfortable with your own mask and equipment rather than using something of theirs that's alien (noisy, mask not fitting properly) Having the mask isnt that bad. You do feel better when you wake up in the morning because your body is being supplied more oxygen through out the night while you sleep. The only thing I can say about having the mask is please keep it clean at all times. I live in a very small apartment and the smell of the cooking gets into your filtering and blows out baked chicken and veggies into your face when you are trying to sleep :tongue_smilie: lol. If you would like any more information dont hesitate to ask
  11. Hi everyone, I'm Christina. I'm 26 years old and will be banded in 2 weeks (Aug, 28th). I'm both excited and nervous about my new journey but am looking forward to this experience. I currently weigh 310lbs and have become this heavy due to lack of excersise because I have Degenerative Disc Disease. My back has affected me for almost 5 years now, and before being injured I was able to do anything. I was still considered overweight but I would be out and about, going dancing with friends, playing sports and keeping up with my very young sibilings at the time. I'm also married to my super supportive husband, he's been my everything going through all of this and I thank him so much for even attending the seminar last October with me. I'm also a gammer on Final Fantasy 11 Sylph server. That's where I get my handle from if anyone plays the game. I have many supportive friends there, and in a lot of ways they are a huge family I never had in front of me while growing up. I've been reading around these forums over the past two days and finally decided to say "hey what's up people!" Most of you have already took the leap of faith with the banding and wow, the results are amazing! Congrats to you all!!! It's nice to meet all of you! Be well and keep on going! :tongue_smilie:
