syl step: Welcome, I am 7 weeks post op and have lost 69lbs. It is a very scary thing to think about that you will have a device in you that who knows what will really happen. How I accepted this and used it to my benifit was I knew that this was just a tool, and if not used properly could still gain weight. However like most tools I dug in and researched the issue joined a great support group of other bandsters and through this have come out the other side on fire and losing weight. I have committed to myself to follow my Docs instructions to the letter, listen to others with issues so that I can avoid the pit falls that they have gone through. Hang in there it does work and it is a great life.

shackdog replied to sarabluebell's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yep, but I knew that this was what it would take for me to get this weight off once and for all. Here it is less than 1 1/2months later and down 61lbs. It has not been easy, its work and well worth it, I to would do it again in a heartbeat. But the good part is I dont have to because this is just a new tool to help me win the battle. Good luck -
Are there any STRONG MEDICAL reasons for choosing the lap-band?
shackdog replied to Randi's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I reccomend that you contact the local Doc in your area and get all the literature on lap band, this shows the stats why the lap band over any other type. Less complications, can be reveresed if need be, and the list goes on and on. If you need a Doctor contact email me at boiseman2001@yahoo.com . -

YO from Idaho- Keep up the great Job

Yo , I aggree with others, follow the plan. I did three wks liquids, two weeks musshies, and just got my first fill of 3cc's. I have faithfully followed the pland and have to date lost -61lbs yep thats right -61. You paid the Doc to do this to you,it just stands to reason that you should follow his advice. Everyone is different there are no two of us alike. Each person has lost their weight at a different rate and your Doc knows you best. I also aggree that if you are making up your own game plan now, what is going to happen when things get really tough and all support is no longer around you. I am now seven weeks postop and here is what I have done, 1)Followed the Docs rules to the letter 2)did not believe I would survive the liquids part(BUT DID 3)Got into a great support group here local 4)Read this web daily and see all the crap people are doing to themselves that will get them back to where they started(BIG BIG BIG 5)Have resolved that only I can change(Change is not change unless YOU change)
-
Well it was great seeing everyone last night, here it is C350(-61lbs total,-3lbs this week

Well I go to the Doc today, dont know if he will give me a fill yet, dont think I have any restriction on the band but it just being there is a powerful tool and I think that is great. Started 411/preop-26/post op -26/currently -7 more for a now of 352lbs
-
sorry to hear about your mom, our prayers are with you. also way to go on the weight

Hello new. I am in Idaho. I was banded on the 17th April 06 and still doing great. I am about five weeks post op and still doing well. I have lost a total of 55lbls thus far. Hang in there. The post op diet liquids went ok, it has been a mind game about food but what I need to remember is its a mind game and its my mind so I know I can win. Have faith and walk the walk and talk the talk stay focused and you will make it to your goals.
