HAHA my hubby is a great cook that is my problem when we met I was weighing 135lbs and over the course of 7 years I have gain all my weight now I am at 216lbs so that isnt good, he is a good cook and for that I am how I am , I will have to control my self later on , I dont blame him for my weight gain but that is how I got where I am at today LOL He plans to get on a diet when I get banded LOL

Hey Newnavy wife, I am from Tx too where are u from exactly ?? I am from Austin area. I am getting banded on next week the 8th of Oct , I did some research on this procedure and said enough is enough I am going to do this, I am at 216 and want it to go away inwhich I need some help doing that . so I will be getting banded in Austin by Dr. Ganta he is a very great doc and will be using only one incision and going through my belly button . hey guys I am having my procedure next wednesday on oct 8th I had already had been schedule with another doc but things happened and I changed so I now am just waiting for the new day, I go and see him tomorrow for my pre op visit and that is it . Good luck to all. Becky

skinnyme2be, U have to be stronger for the childen cuz it isnt just u now, I am so sorry to hear what is going on with u, but if it were me and this is just me , I would do it and later when u have it u will be starting a new life , a fresh new life and u will have gotten rid of all the bad things in ur life and go on , just dont look back going forward will be hard I can say that much I raised my son alone from the time he was 4 yes till now he is 19 of course and I say I did a dam good job alone, u are stonger than u think and yes the babies will ask for the daddy but in time I would just say he has to work late ........and I would leave it at so it wont make me sad either just thinking of my child without a dad, he was with out a dad for a reason he was a jerk that is where I will leave that, good luck on what ever u do , my prayers go out to u and ur family!! if u are not completely happy with either on from ALL perspectives then please do more homework and keep looking it doesnt hurt. I know some wont let u talk to any of their patients either but it must be for a reason !!!!!!!!! I figured that one out. it is a life changing experienncing so proceed with caution. I got a new doctor and now a new surgery date, my insurance just approved me again but with this new doctor, I believe I will be much happier and will be more satisfied with his work, He will be doing my surgery with only one hole and using my belly button to go through so he wont have to make all those holes everyone else has had to have, things are changing and that means less scarring as well as healing so that is great. Anyone having surgery around this time , lets be buddies. I have made alot of good email buddies from here and it has been a great experience one which I wouldnt change. There is so much info we can take from here so who ever created this web site "thanks" To anyone who has already had the band or going to have it done good luck and take care!!!! :smile:

I am wondering if anyone has used HUMANA PPO as their insurance and had this procedure approved or denied?? IF so how long did this take?? I am going through my 5th month of my 6 month weight loss program with them , I am also having to meet with a psychologist on Monday. Any one have any ideas what they will be asking me?? I am excited so I thought I would share this with all those out there. mY doc Sashi Ganta in Austin Texas has come up with new ways to do the Lap Band I wanted to let everyone know out there who is thinking of getting it done. I am having this technique because it will be better for less scarring as well as recovery time is better, I hope u find this helpful if u have any questions u can call his office. wow winthropgrad08 I am sorry to hear that this has happen to u , I too decided right at the end of change surgeons not cuz the money but cuz things I started to hear and let me tell u , it was well worth it , I had to go through the whole process of having my auth # changed to a new doc and it took about a week so that wasnt to bad however i have Humana Dell PPO I wish u luck and i feel no matter who u chose u will be happy, everything happends for a reason and this is one!! Be strong and dont stress just keep looking u will find a new doc,. take care

Hey travelinsnorkel, I too work for a doctor as an office manager I have a sit down job as alot of us do at doc's so it wont be too bad I am having surgery on the 8th of October and I will be off that Thursday and I may or may not be back on the 10th it just depends i told them how i feel . He isnt pushing the issue though I will have some one cover so I am ok should I have to take off that Friday , needless to say he would rather me come back and able to give him 100% verses me come back to soon and me not be able to do even 10% so thank god for him. I wish u well and hope everything works for u, I know jobs can be hard to find too so good luck on what ever it is that u decide to do. Becky

yes the band sounds nicer, in my case I didnt dare do the GBP my sis had it back in 2004-2005 somewhere around there and she lost weigh so fast and wasnt eating she went from 235-240? to 78 lbs in one year, yes that is right she was wearing childrens clothes at 78 lbs she was vomiting everything up had bad reflux and her surgeon in Houston didnt seem to think it was a problem , she was so week it took 3 months to get her levels in her system up again inorder to operate on her to have it reversed , yes reversed it isnt heard of but the doc I work for did me and my family a great favor and that was saving her , he had one of his doc friends reverse it , it was along surgery to redo it one which isnt recommened either but it was done and thanks to them she is here today !!!!!!!! i thank god everyday for my doc(employer) and the surgeon that risked it all to fix her. so that isnt an option for me plus I weigh 216 right now and the band is better for me do u have a regular email I can send u a email I received news this am about my doc that is going to do my band having pioneered the one incision procedure right here in austin . do u live in austin?? do u work for Dell?? my husband does, I did for 5 years and during one lay off i took the package and left . best move I ever made. Hey Stacyiam, being honest with u it took about a week for me to be approved however I did change doc i was going to see a doc at SW also till I did some research and found a new doc and now I am going to have it done on Oct 8th by Dr. Ganta he is more experienced and is very educated in this field , he also has several ways of doing the procedure he can do the 5 incisions, he can do it with 2 incisions and 1 incision and using the belly button depending on how tall u are , I am short so that is what we are shooting for the 1 incision and the belly button. Please do ur research , I work for a doc and well he recommened I go to see Dr Ganta, I did and now well it threw everything out of wacK I had to start the authroization process all over but it will be well worth it . good luck to u, how far into this are u with that doc?? I know Dr Ganta takes Humana Dell keep in touch

hey sarajaneQ, no I am actually not having to do a pre op diet cuz my bmi is low and will not have to do a day before liquids either so this is nice. I wish u well on ur procedure , when are u scheduled?? My surgery date my change , I am in the process of changing doctors, So I will go and meet wtih my new surgeon on tomorrow and hope he can just transfer my authorization # over to him ??? I have gotten all my medical records from the other surgeon already so I dont have to pay for all those test again . I still have not cancelled my procedure for the 19 yet I will as soon as I get things squared away tomorrow. wish me luck... I will need it !!!!!!!!!!
