I'm about to enter my week of pureed food. Any suggestions on what to eat? Is baby food surprisingly good or truly disgusting? It's only a week, so I'll get through it, but not looking forward to it.

I have ordered this scale: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07S7FWMC7?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details -- it is, in short, a smart scale with an app. I asked my Dr. and my nutritionist, who both thought it was a good idea. What is your experience with smart scales? What factors do you track and pay attention to? Thanks!
-
This scale gives you that and a lot more. It seems dead-on reliable and the app is excellent.

Good suggestions, thanks. I haven't been measuring, but I have been noting new pants/shirt sizes and this week, new sneaker size!

So, the $64,000 question that I'm sure all newbies want to know: how fast (on average) do most people lose weight after surgery. I know, I know, everyone's different, but surely there is a range. I lost very quickly before and immediately after surgery, but now that I'm about 6 or 7 weeks out, it has slowed dramatically (less than 1/2 pound per day). Is that common? Does it speed up and slow down and then back up and down (much like my investments 🤣)? I'm trying to lose another 50-60 pounds. Should I be thinking 6 months or 2 years? Thanks PS: I bet no one has ever asked this before. Sorry, couldn't find a thread on this.

I was finding checking every day motivating. But now that the amount is down by tenths (and then back up some days) it is making me crazy so I may go to once a week. My real fear is that I'll stop losing altogether, and I have another 50# to go. Aiiii.
-
That helps a lot, actually. My goal is to lose 145 altogether, though 135 would put me at 200 which would be fine. I started in May (with surgery in August) and have lost 85 so far, so I'm optimistic about hitting my goal by spring, much as you have. We'll see. If you are comfortable, can you say a bit about what foods you are not eating, and what kind of Bariatric surgery you had?

Is a distinct, unpleasant body odor common from Gastric Sleeve surgery? And if it is, how long does it last? If it is just me... well that's embarrassing 😩

I have found out how to set my current weight, but not how to modify my target weight. Help anyone? thanks.

OK, i found it. Go to your name, then "my surgery" and you can get there to set your weight numbers. Wow, they hid that. Of course, updates to your weight are at the bottom of the column on the right on any given page.

It still hurts to eat and drink

Thank you for sharing that. I am 67 and this is my first weight (and I hope last) Bariatric surgery. Good luck with your next procedure and don't give up! -
rate of loss Rate of loss post-op
Jesse Liberty posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was 335 in March. In anticipation of surgery I lost 55#, so at surgery (the day before yesterday) I was 280. My goal is 200 (okay, my secret goal is 190). What does the rate of loss look like? That is, do you lose steadily, or more quickly at first and then more slowly? How long should it take to lose the next 80#? My hope is to lose 50 in six months and the rest in the following six months. Is that realistic? As for exercise, I walk my dog about 1+ mile/day but hope to pick that up as I lose weight.- 27 replies

You lost 16# in one week?? That's amazing. Losing weight is non-linear, you should expect some ups and downs. -
I've updated my weight before, but now I can't find the page. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Much easier, thanks

My target weight comes up as 280, the actual target is 200. Anyone know how to fix that? (I'm talking about the little profile that comes up next to my messages.) Thanks Never mind, I figured it out. Sorry to waste your time -

That's because it is well hidden. Click on the drop down next to your name at the very top of the page and choose My Surgery. Then on the left you'll have a few choices. The one you want is progress. -

My daughter was born there as well. I was very impressed by the quality of care both times. -

I had a miserable time the first day (had to stay over in hospital a second night) and a hard time the second day, but then it got much better. My feeling, if this isn't going away by tomorrow, call your Dr. -

My blog focuses on .NET programming, lately with an emphasis on .NET MAUI My other blog (http://jlauthor.me) focuses on my not-yet-published novel 😉 Thanks. -
Worked great, thanks! Not quite intuitive, but I'll try to remember it 😎

Thanks! You've sparked my imagination. I think I'll make one or two of the recipes I like in my InstaPot and see how it goes once I puree them.

By the way, how do you get that cool image (shows progress and Win)? - Never mind, I figured it out! Thanks.
