    Low Energy Levels after bypass?

( I had gastric bypass surgery on January 23,2023. Right after my surgery I was able to walk the halls of the hospital and get a thousand steps in at a time. When I got home reality hit and I felt exhausted! I know I had pain meds during my overnight stay- but- when I got home, I’d sleep all night, wake around 8 am, and then nap from noon to 3. This was my first week home. I barely was awake enough to drink my protein shakes, and sincerely considered trips to the bathroom or to fill my water bottle exercise. The second week I walked almost everyday- one trip around my pond- 1,080 steps. When I’d get inside, I collapsed into my recliner to warm up and rest. But- I still felt tired and not peppy, nor did I see massive weight loss. I am at the end of week 3- beginning of week 4- I’ve lost 20 pounds, am getting my protein requirement I, and 60 plus ounces of water a day, I take my vitamins- but, honestly, I still don’t feel energetic. Oh, I also had a 5 cm hiatal hernia fixed at the time of gastric bypass surgery. I am letting my body sleep when it needs too, respecting that I must exercise , feed and hydrate my body and am just…allowing this journey to unfold at its own pace. I want to be thin, healthy and active, but at this stage- I respect that my body must heal from the trauma of surgery- which is a big deal. I am just grateful to be on this side of surgery, grateful that I had the opportunity to go through it and looking forward to the wonderful life ahead, being healthier, enjoying my family and experiences without unhealthy co morbidities that haunted me before gastric bypass. These are just my thoughts!

My gastric bypass was on the 23 of Jan. I'm 5 days out. I'm very sore- feels like tugging in my stomach. When I walk I can't stand straight- I'm working on it, but I lean forward, holding on my belly like it is about to fall off! I am able to drink liquids- protein shake and clear protein, water, tea... thats all- pretty easily. I had major gas pains in the beginning- but they are mostly gone. Thankfully my husband is tracking all my pills and seeing that I take what I need. I'm sleeping in a recliner and haven't attempted to go upstairs-I don't mind. I'm hoping to feel better soon!
  3. No party pooping taken! 😉 Yes, I do have to have a liquid phase after surgery, but my stomach won't be a massive quart size hollow anymore, so I'm thinking I'll be able to deal with liquids after b/c I'll want to take care of my small baby sized stomach! Having my large sad stomach, growling and sloshing has not been easy... but, I did it! Yay! Thank you for your concern!
  4. The day after tomorrow is my surgery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait. I'm so happy, one more day of full size stomach liquid diet! It did go by pretty fast, looking back on it. It was gross, but its nearly over! Yay!
  5. I'm on day 11 of my liquid diet. I've been having my protein shakes, water, sleepy tea with skim milk and no fat yogurt. I make sure to drink 64 fluid oz. of water daily----- and I JUST WANT SOME FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want grilled chicken! Hahahahaha! I have surgery Monday, Jan. 23, 2023. So- I won't eat anything solid, but I am exhausted, feel sick to my stomach, and have a massive head ache. Hopefully, after surgery, the headache will be gone, or someone will give me something for it. I'm excited to have my surgery!!!! I'm not nervous at all. I know this will be over and done and I will be healthy and happy. So, one day at a time I will get through this! You can too! Just.... ignore your sloshing tummy and try not to stay in the kitchen when your family is eating! Good luck everyone!

7 days in on my liquid pre-op diet...... I'm making it! I find that I hate bullion, ice pops, pudding, jello..... I'm drinking Premier Protein Clear- mixed with water- its got 20 grams of protein- for a "snack", tea- de-caf, with skim milk, and Premier Protein 30 gr. protein shake for meals. I drink water, water, water. I feel sloshy inside weak!!!! but surgery is in 7 days- at this point, that's all I can think about- liquid diet, smiquid smiet- who cares! Soon it will all be over!
