Sorry to hear about your back! I thought I was doing good because I walk about 2.5 miles 4 times per week but the Doctor said I should be running! I told him the only way I would run is if someone was chasing me with a knife so he said he will meet me at 6 am with a knife every morning!! lol. LOL Soontobe, now that was some funny stuff. he has a good sense of humor. loved that! but i think y ou are doing great!

well i do use splenda but not every day. wonder if whey protein would do it? i do appreciate you telling me that though. it sure could be adding to it.
-
well i wasn't but my Dr suggested this band at wal mart for 8.77 and i can sit and stretch it over my head. it has seemed to start my weight loss again. so just a little will help. ( i have had some major back surgeries and can't do much)
-
it happens every day.. i wondered if its the protein. i will ask next week when i go in to the Dr. i thought at first it was the protein shakes but didn't eat any for a couple of days and still same thing. :wink2:

i was wondering if anyone else has a problem with gas. it is so embarrassing. by the second part of my day i am so full of gas. all the time having to run to the bathroom to pass it or walking around in a store and going up an aisle that no one is on. lol i just wondered if it was just me.

It is hard! but i finally have lost a little more and should get another fill next week. i feel i can still eat to much though. i am surprised i lost anything this month. maybe the next fill will help. hangin in there. it sure has helped to keep me encouraged reading that others are struggling with this too. not that i am happy about that, its just that at least i know i am not in this boat alone. thanks again you all!

Wow, you should be really proud! You have done great in such a short time. Congradulations!
-
oh mine does that too. i usually have to come home and put on something (like a gown) that doesn't bind me in anyway. the port is sewn to a muscle. and by the end of the day mine is pulling and bothering me. not sure if this is the same as yours though.

Have you been to the Dr lately? or called them?
-
Let us know what you think after you try it.
-
wow, what is your food secrets :w00t: i have major back problems so am not able to do much in the way of excercise but maybe you could give me some other tips, i have been a slow loser and i have stuck to the diet plan. i wished i knew why your port was sore. mine is still sore from my first fill a week ago.
-
First off , WOW you have done so good losing that much in only 2 months time! mine got sore after my first fill. have you had a fill lately? it was just a thought :w00t: sorry i can't be more help. susan

yes it is, kind of like a smoothie king or something except its called *Shake the Weight. they have all flavors. i also bought the formula and the whey protein. you can add as much as you need. but we only process , i think its 20 grams every 4 hours. but you add things to make them taste different. like fruit, different flavors of jello, extracts. i make mine out of non fat mile or 2% choc. some use orange juice. i like the cookies and cream formula, and i make like reese's or almond joy, buttersotch jello is good in one. anyways, at the store you can buy a shake or some fat burning tea or buy the stuff to make your own and they will give you pages of recipes. you do it in a blender and add ice. great shakes! for about 200 calories or less. i have never gotten the shakes or weakness using them. i did it for the 2 weeks during pre op and now i use it for breakfast or lunch. much more filling than most things i have tried. they use Herbalife which is the only one FDA approved (is what they say) i think there is a web site herbalife.com Hope this helps someone, it sure did me. oh and i went a bought me some digital scales today and dropped 4 pds so i am happier:thumbup:

i wished they had the flouro at the PC. i would feel better about getting the fills.
-
Yes i had it done at the PC. neither Dr did it. i can't remember the ladies name :cool2: i use *Shake the Weight* shakes. they have many recipes and can add the whey protein to whatever you need. i heard they had one in Texarkana. i make them at home. i used it to lose the pre-op 10pds. i stay so gasy on it though. i still eat the sf popc. and jello at night when i get so hungry. i have went and read the blogs over at noscales and got some good info there. have a great day!

That is really AWESOME! YOu are doing great! i am glad he got it on the first try this time. CONGRADS!:cool2:

hi Megan, i am from Louisiana also. (Simsboro close to Ruston) i was banded by Dr. H August 20th, had my first fill a little over a week ago. i tried for over a year to get into Shreveport but they kept telling me , we have met our quota for Medicare this month call again next month. so i found Dr. H in Texarkana. the hospital was great and they move on things more quickly. i wished i could go to some of your meetings but it is a 2 and half hour drive for me.:cursing: if i can help you in anyway. please feel free. i am so glad to have found this texarkana thread! i noticed that alot of you were banded last year, so i guess my slow weight loss is not unusual. that makes me feel better. i stay in the box and drink protein and add it to oatmeal sometimes but still HUNGRY! i felt a little uneasy since they can't see to do the fill. i would feel better if Dr. H did it though. i guess i have wondered if they hit it right ever since. ] it did swell and get really sore but the stick didn't hurt. thank you all again! Susan

What the H*LL is wrong with me!

i was attracted to this thread by the title and was wondering the same about myself. i know i haven't been banded as long as most of you but wanted to tell you that this has been a very encouraging thread i thought i would have lost more by now but i can see this will take time and the dieting isn't as easy as i thought it would be with the support of the band. but maybe it will get easier for me when i get to a good fill point. i really needed the encouragement from people that are also working with this. i just wanted to tell you all... Thank you for posting and being so honest on here. it really helps me. i may not always post but i do read alot of threads :cursing: Keep the faith! susan -
i wrote to the program director asking about the fill and if they do one sooner than a month. i ask some other things but she didn't reply to, but this is what she had to say and i thought others may find it interesting. Hi Susan. You may not have restriction after the first fill, and it may take a couple of weeks to tell and sometimes up to 4 weeks, so we do not fill sooner than 4 weeks. Everyone is different, has a different size stomach, and that is why we have to progress to what we consider your sweet spot where you are able to eat your 1/2 cup and are satisfied until your next meal. Just make sure that you use your saucer to eat and do not overeat and stretch your stomach before we get to that fill where you are feeling that restriction.

well shucks.. now that several of you say you didn't get sore, i am wondering if they hit the port correctly. i have a bruise and its very sore and swollen. i think i will call them today. thank you all!!
-
i appreciate you all answering  i too have a big bruise. i wished they had put some in at surgery. i know several people that went to losing weight right away and i think that is the reason. its hard to have gone all these months feeling hungry. of course this is the reason we have the surgery. i sure hope the next fill works. i am going to fuss when i go back. anyone have to wait a month to have there second fill? you all are a blessing!

i was just wondering if anyone got really sore the more days that pass from getting your first fill? mine seems to get sorer by the day. you all think it takes more time for the fill to *kick in*? thank you all

i was just wondering if anyone got sore around there port site after the fill? mine is really sore. i wondered how she knew she hit the port, there was no screen or anything. thanks you all
