    First Bite Syndrome

First bite syndrome doesn't have anything to do w/being too tight. That happened to me before I even had my first fill (if I am remembering correctly). Basically, you take a bite of something and then feel full. I don't know why it would be dangerous.

    Fiber Choice

I bought a large jar of Fiber Choice w/Calcium pills yesterday. I told 2 this afternoon as instructed and for the last hour or so my stomach has been killing me. I read the bottle again and it says if you have bloating or minor gas to temporary cut back on the dosage. This is the 1st time I have ever even tried this. Do I want to torture myself tomorrow and take another pill. Not really!! I just hate to have wasted $12. I thought these would be good being that they have Calcium and fiber. Has this happened to anyone else? I am just wondering if this is normal, one day usage or if it's b/c I am banded. Also, I am using a heating pad that's not really helping. Any tips to eleviate the pain??

    Worst Food in America

Wow, I love the Ruby Tuesday turkey burgers. I don't think I get the Bella burger, but still. I usually skip the bread, but it sounds like I need to skip the burger!! Wow @ the Chipotle chicken Crispers.

    Fiber Choice

Thanks for the info. I went ahead and took one pill this afternoon. That's a good idea to try and break them up and take the twice during the day instead of both pills at one time.

    Flexible Spending/Flex Benefits...How much?

I just had to do mine today. That's really hard to say about someone else when you don't know how much their co-pays and stuff are. It was hard to determine my own. My suggestion is like the person said before me to add on to the expenses from last year. I was self-pay and completely underestimated. I still think it's better to overestimate some. You can always buy extra over the counter stuff, contacts, glasses, fill up from medicine cabinet, etc to use up any excess. Do a little research..if your surgery is already planned call and find out the out of pocket. Also, if you have to pay some of your aftercare find out how much that will cost also. I used my Flexcard to buy a lot of the stuff I need pre-surgery too like a heating pad, liquid tylenoll, prescriptions needed, etc. This year I signed up for a Health Saving Plan, so the amount rolls over to the next year.

dinner out? where do you eat out??

I don't eat out anywhere near what I used to. I left the fast food alone w/out even really realizing. One of my favorite local places here is 42nd Oyster. I love seafood and you can pretty much get anything seafood there. I usually get an shrimp appetizer and either a baked potato or side salad and take the rest home. If I go to TGIF, Applebee's, Chili's type places I usually get an appetizer and maybe a side veggie and take the rest home. For lunch maybe some soup @ Panera Bread or a salad. I never tried any kids menus. I love leftovers so that works for me.

    What doctor did your banding?

    Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum Aurora, CO
  10. I do pineapple juice and papaya pills. They both work for me. The best papaya pills that work for me are from Vitamin World. I bought some from Walgreens and GNC and never worked well. They were too sugary and tasted like candy.

In Your 20's And Had Surgery?

My lap band experience has been good. I got banded 10 days before my 28th birthday. Physically, I am doing great. I had little to no pain after surgery and the weight loss is making me feel better. Emotional is a different thing. The band can only help you phyiscally. I think I still need to work on the mentaln issues I have with food. I would like to do some therapy next year. Ithink I was as prepared as I could be. You think you know what to expect, but it's 1/2 of what I expected and rest I am still learning. I honestly wish I could have gotten the surgery when I was younger, but I am glad I have it.

What is Cost in US as of 2007?

In my area of North Carolina it's around $20K. The lowest price I found in NC was around $14,500. I went Dr. Kirshenbaum in Denver, CO for $9950.

    My Worst Fat Day EVER!

Wow, I hate that happened to you. I can feel your pain. You started right where I did. I still have a long way to go, but you will feel so much better with 30, 40, 50 lbs gone forever. About 3 months before I had my surgery, I went to Atlantic City. I had never had problems walking before, but I managed to make it down the Boardwalk. My back was hurting so bad, I couldn't even make it back down. I felt like I had ruined the whole trip. I had to end up getting one of those walking carts back down the boardlwalk. All I could think was thank God I fit!! OT: Your pic is so pretty. I love your highlights!!

    Bodybugg users report here!

Hi Plump princess, I doubt you could use your Flex Card for a Bodybugg. That would be great though. To verify though, you could either call The card company or check the list of acceptable charges. You are lucky to still have that much $$ left on your card this late in the year. I wish I could say the same. My fills ate up my card.

    Bodybugg users report here!

Wow, I can't believe I have sat here and read this whole thread today. I am sold on the Bodybugg!! I initially wanted to wait until the new one came out, but I read on the Bodybugg message board that it won't be until late 08 and who knows how much that will be. I looked on the Mystorefitness website and the BB right now is $249 plus an extra $20 off making it $229 which isn't bad, but I want the display too and it's still $99.95. I wish the display was on sale too . I may check around and buy them both seperately if needed. I don't want to wait too much in case the price goes up again though. I don't see anything about shipping, so I am guessing it's included in that price.

    First fill - NOT GOOD!

I would talk to your doc about it. Maybe he can prescribe you something for your nerves.

    Actitrainer vs. Body Bugg

Thanks for posting that. I don't know how I missed that. That really isn't bad if you pay the whole year up front. So, you are really getting 15 months for $99 since the 1st 3 months are free.

    Black Friday??

I haven't done it in years. I would like to go, but I need a day to relax and sleep in. I think I will try to get one of those deals on Amazon though.

    Tow truck drivers

That's really rude and tacky. I see no problem w/the business b/c it's needed. but the comments were ridiculous. It's a shame they would think something like that and especially say it aloud. Luckily, I have had nice tow truck drivers so far.

    New Zealand Hates Fat People!

I think the country has the right to let in who they want. I can understand where they are going from as far as the amount of $$ they would cost them. I just wonder what else isn't allowed allowed. Do they have to get a physical or they just look @ people and say oh they are fat they will cost us $$? Even though obesity is a big problem for them do people there not suffer from cancer, AIDS, and other illnesses? They shouldn't be let in either than. Those illnesses are definitely going to cost the country $$ where is obesity possibly could. Personally, if it were me I just wouldn't move there. I think the option for universal medical care would be great here. I don't understand why the lady doesn't have the option for private insurance. If she can't show she can support herself she shouldn't be moving there in the 1st place.

    Your NO-NO list

My food no no list changes day by day and fill to fill. Right now: chicken breast, rice (as of the last time I tried), grits, scrambled eggs Today I couldn't eat a piece of toast where as Sunday I could.

    Band Vs Band

I think that will be a tough question b/c most people have only experience one or the other. I know there are some people that were rebanded with different bands.

    Biggest Loser

That's true Chris. This is my first season watching the Biggest Loser all the way thru. I thought that was weird too, they know this is a game. Whether you like Neil or not he's playing the game and still losing weight.
