I have been on both sides of the equation. As a student, I would never send an e-mail that rude to my professor. That was tacky. At the same time, as a student I notice that some of my professors have the attitude basically, "I've got mine (degree), I don't care if you get yours. That really burns me up. Grad school is a lot different and most professors understand why we need our grades by a certain deadline. I had some great professors in UG, but professors in grad school are a lot more respectful of their students. As a high school teacher (different from university level), my student would have been chewed out. They might have been scared to send me another e-mail. I would have taken the time to get the kid the grade though..Unless I didn't have time to check the e-mail, I didn't have the papers with me, or there was something more pressing going on.

I didn't see it, but it sounds interesting. I will be looking out for it. Thanks:)

My favorite color is blue, and Sky Blue is my favorite shade. Followed by my #2, Carolina Blue...Go Tarheels!!!! I just changed the spelling. If I have a daughter, I thought of naming her Skye Blu. My friends think that is going too far. I think it would be a cute name though. Oh, and my name is Yolanda....And I was born in 79.

I love everything. I really like the new J. Timberlake. I have almost recently gotten Beyonce, Fergie, Chris Daughtry, Michael Buble, Jay Z, Cherish, and I think that's about it. I buy way too much music or I hit up Ebay.

Hey, I am not a local, but I have gone to Vegas every year for the last 3 years. I would suggest checking out the 1/2 price ticket booths. There is one @ the Coca Cola Bottle by MGM, there is another one in Fashion Show Mall, and I know there's one downtown somewhere. You won't find tickets do any of the major shows (Cirque Soliel or Celine Dion), but they have a lot of other tickets. I don't specifically recall seeing Barry Manilow, but I wasn't looking either. I don't think he has a permanent show, so that might make it harder. I could be wrong. You can get a lot of good info on tripadvisor.com. Go to one of the Forums and post. There are a lot of Vegas experts and other knowledgeable people. Oh, and as for as the hotels giving you discounts, they do for some shows, but usually none of the really good ones. Staying @ Caesars and having a Total Rewards card got us a good deal for Price as Right Tickets, lol...It was fun though. Have fun in Sin City!!!

Cool!!! I hadn't heard I really like Kim Locke. She has a lot going on right now. I know her 2nd CD is coming out soon.

I can't wait for season of American Idol!! I listen to all genres of music, so I didn't do the poll..It really depends on the person for me and their talent. So far I have both of Kelly Clarkson's CDs, both of Ruben's CDs, Bo's, Fantasia, Chris Daughtry's, Clay's 1st CD, Justin Guirini, & Kimberly Locke's...I think that's it. I can't wait for Taylor's CD to come out...I also want to get Carrie's and Clay's 2nd CD too. A crooner would be different, but I would still have to like them. I love that sound. Michael Buble is one of my favorites. And I can't wait to see Jennifer Hudson in Dream Girls. I hope North Carolina has another good year.

That is so sad. Have you thought of maybe trying Weight Watchers or something like that? -
Slim Fast, not a healthy choice?
skyeblu79 replied to sweethot143's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
There are many different types of slim fast. I think the regular one is really good and tastes like a milkshake. Like you said, it has way too much sugar. The low carb is a little more watered down, but it only has like 2-3 carbs and sugars which isn't bad. They also used to have a low sugar version, but I don't know if they do anymore. There is also a high protein one. -
Nicole Richie wants to make something clear: Her scrawny figure is all natural, and not the result of any medical intervention. The undersize tabloid staple is peeved that people believe she's the unnamed "young Hollywood starlet" from a recent New York Post blind item who underwent "secret bypass surgery," only to have it undone when she "lost too much weight." "It just doesn't stop," Nicole fumed on her MySpace page on Tuesday. "So, I gain a little bit of weight, and I'm accused of having a gastric bypass surgery reversed? It's pathetic of Page Six to insinuate I have done this." Continues the irate and (maybe, just maybe) infinitesimally meatier Richie, "Anyone that knows anything about this surgery would know that legally, you must be at least 100 pounds overweight to even have the surgery done, and [it] is a serious, life changing procedure—not one to throw around as a joke or a rumor." It's not surprising that Nicole isn't laughing off the rumors. After all, she knows a thing or two about the surgery: Her former fiancé, Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein, dropped 155 pounds—almost twice her body weight—after undergoing the procedure in 2003. The blind item, which claimed the mystery starlet's "recent four-day stint at a health clinic" was really to have the bypass removed, appeared three weeks after the eating disorder-denying Richie announced she was seeking diagnostic treatment to discover why she was failing to pack on the pounds. The evidence, however, remains in Nicole's favor: Since she decided to get help, she hasn't gone four straight days without being snapped by the paparazzi. "It is not Nicole," her rep insists to People, pooh-poohing the implication as "ridiculous." "There are a ton of 'Hollywood starlets.'" Rants Richie, who will soon begin work on the fifth season of "The Simple Life" with newly reinstated BFF Paris Hilton: "I've given a statement I am in the process of putting on weight, and that should be enough. It's a shame to hear that instead of hearing supportive words, someone needs to spin it into some negative, absurd way."

I think she has an eating disorder.

How much does the surgery cost in Mexico?
skyeblu79 replied to CheriCline's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I also plan on going to Dr. Ortiz in Tijuana. I hope to have my surgery in February. -
Lisa99, can you tell more about the Fat Flush or where you got info on it? Thanks

Dr. Bauman is located in Concord. He is @ Carolina Weight Loss Surgery. I don't know too much about him, but he was someone that my doctor suggested. You should be able to do a search on him. Also, check out the SC & NC room and maybe post in there. I know your want someone in SC, but checking NC would really widen your options. Rock Hill is sooo close to Charlotte and by it being a larger city you can probably find a lot more doctors there. Good Luck!!!

12 Yr old Girl has Liposuction to LOOSE WEIGHT !
skyeblu79 replied to coltonwade's topic in Rants & Raves
I think unnecessary surgery on a minor should be illegal. I don't like the idea of the gov't stepping in for most cases, but this is ridiculous. Some parents clearly don't have the common sense to rationalize that something like this is wrong. How sad!! Whether the kid wanted it or not, it is the parents responsibility to say no to stuff like this. I wonder who's idea it was. I just don't understand what this doctor was thinking. I didn't even think they would take that much fat out normally. Since when is liposuction a method for weight loss?! Just awful. -

Thanks for posting the pictures...I am planning on going to Dr. Ortiz early next year. Is there anything else you can share about your experience? How was Tijuana? It looks like yal got out and did some sightseeing. Did you feel safe? I have heard some stories. -

Price Negotiation$ Self Pay
skyeblu79 replied to kimberly150's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Your right...I shouldn't have called your comment dumb even if @ the time I thought it was. It was rude. My bad. And I understand your comment about the swap meet (no explanation needed). I thought it was pretty rude and still think it was. I'm just tired of some of the comments on here that people make, especially when $$ is involved. I think some people on here don't get it either b/c they have a lot of $$, their insurance is paying for it, or they just don't have compassion for their fellow man. I really thought some of yal were taking jabs at her for the fun of it. I wish I could find a good doctor around here that could nego a price. I don't know anything about her situation, so I can only pull from my own. I don't have time to wait until I finish grad school and have a good paying job to get the surgery. I have to look out for me. Like I told her it's probably not an option, but I still can be compassionate and understand where she's coming from. -
Let the Joyous news be spread: New Jersey votes yes on Gay civil union!

I think that's great. I don't think anyone should be able to tell someone else who they can marry. -
So, is this an ongoing thing...Like once a week he'll show the people in the house. I'm not a Dr. Phil fan, but I might watch an episode just to see what's going on.

That is sooooo cool..I love Ghost Whisperer. It gets TiVo'd every Friday!!! You are so lucky. Did you end up getting to me JLH or any of the other cast members.

Can someone explain what exactly about the show was offensive? I am seriously confused. Am I misssing something? No one is really giving any specifics other than complaints about Oprah. She annoys me @ times too, so I understand that. And I'm not saying that the show is all about helping people. You can't cure someone w/an hour talk show, but it might clue someone that they have an issue. Or maybe listening to how the alcoholic mom affects her kids will show someone else how their kids might be feeling.
