  1. I completely agree...That is sooooo true. I definitely don't want to live in the projects to get free food stamps and even the bypass surgery!!! Whether there are people working the system or not there are plenty of people out there that truly need it. I would rather my tax $$ go towards that than some of the other stuff it goes towards. And from the statistics I have seen there is not a ton of $$ like some seem to think that goes towards welfare.

The Biblical Case for Pro-Choice & Stem Cell Research

Last week, I was watching Montell Williams & had a show about these women that used unconvential science to get pregnant. He was saying how many eggs are thrown out every year b/c people don't pay they fees to keep them refrigerated. Some people may decide they don't want more kids and they just leave the eggs there. I don't understand why these people don't donate these eggs instead of letting them be garbage. It could help a lot of people. A lady that worked @ one of the places that houses the eggs said they explain to the donotors & many still don't sign the necessary paperwork. I just don't see what the point is.

    Hi Colorado!! Weather Questions...

Hi, Everything is coming really good other than time going slow. I don't have my phone consult until the 16th so I really haven't started to do much. I am mainly just gathering information. I did get a pill crusher and I ordered some different Protein powders that someone recommended to try. I hope you are making it through the snow okay:) Thanks
  5. I really want to get my surgery done in February by Dr. Kirshenbaum in Denver. I have decided on him for sure, but I am concerned about the weather. The blizzard last week even made our news quite a few times last week. I am reading on CNN.com now that there is another storm expected on Thursday. I really don't know whether it's safe to book anything in February. I am scared that the weather will be bad and I will get there, get stuck, & not get the surgery done. I was going to call the office today to get some dates so that I can book my flight, but now I don't know. Any thoughts or advice:( Thanks:)

    Protein Drinks/Shakes

I read about Hanks Finest Protein Milkshake on another website. I ordered a sample from their website. It was $3 I think. Hopefully, I will get it soon and I will post how it is. Also, they will give you $6-$9 off your upcoming up.

What does everyone do for a living?

I am a grad student. I am going into my 2nd semester now for Public Admin. I also work fulltime @ a company that outsources to mortgage companies. In my dept we research property taxes.
  8. Hi, Does anyone know if there is a way to get your insurance to cover your fills? I live in NC and I am planning on going to CO for surgery. I was wondering if anyone self-paid for surgery, but was able to get fills covered.......What is the best way to find out if I can? Should I call the insurance company (UHC) and just ask? Or should I contact the doctor's office first for information? I have contacted a lot of doctors around here about fills and they are all really expensive. I considered flying back and forth to CO, which may be cheaper than get the fills done here. I just think this may get complicated. What it I was overfilled and I had already gone home? I would still end up going to someone local. The best rates that I have found here are $500 for the initial visit and $1,000 for the year or $500 for the initial visit and $300 for each fill....The $1,500 for the 1st yr may be the best option, depending on how many times I think I might have to go for fills. I am just really frustrated and trying to figure out a way to get this done. I am not worried about playing for the surgery, but the aftercare is really adding up. And then I went to my general dr on Thursday and when I was there I asked her whether or not they would be able to take out my stitches there. She basically avoided my question & asked me what kind of surgeon would be ok w/not providing aftercare to their patient. I explained that he does provide aftercare, but I hadn't decided it I was going to do that or just find a dr here. I can't fly back there just to have stitches taken out. Sorry to ramble.....I would really appreciate any info you all can provide. Thanks!!

    Insurance and Adjustments

I guess I could call the insurance company with the code and check w/them. It would be great to only pay the copay. Thanks for the responses!!
  10. I didn't even think about her. She did lose that weight pretty fast.
  11. I don't watch infomercials. I haven't tried anything since Trimspa came out. It really doesn't matter to me @ all....

    Calling ALL MYSPACE nerds....

Hi, there was another thread on here about myspace too...I have had a page for a while and I am finally starting to add people and join some groups. It is pretty fun. I kept running into people and then finding more people on their pages. I think my name on there is either skyeblu79 or skyeblu1979.

The Biblical Case for Pro-Choice & Stem Cell Research

That is so true. It's a shame it has to get to that point before people can learn to have compassion for other people.
  14. That sounds like so much fun!!! I wish I could do something like that...
  15. I thought the las topic brought up was the media and its portrayal. And how people's opinions were formed.
  16. Maybe I am rambling (working and typing). I said I thought your statement was offensive. You said it's not. That's your opinion, I am just stating mine. You can be blunt I probably was rushing trying to go to lunch. I would be offended if someone said that to me. I just asked my coworker if she was offended and she said yes. I just wanted someone else's opinion. Her almost exact wording was if someone told me there were some good fat, black, Muslim women in the world that she would question what kind of person they were.
  17. Why would you be offended by it? I only took your situation in the context of what you said.... I don't care what you said your statement was offensive. I equate it to saying I have some black friends? Speak up for what...I can't do it. It's the same to me as going up against the clan.

Doing the work that Jesus would have wanted

Okay, maybe I took you wrong, but that really was how you said it. If I was talking to you in person maybe it would have been different. It would have made a difference if you specified Conservative Christians.
  19. It sounds like sterotyping to me. And she posted like 5 posts and none of them said anything about conservative christians. And the thing is I have agreed with a lot of the stuff you too have said and b/c I am a Christian it sounds like my thoughts are completely discounted. I don't speak for all Christians and they all don't speak for me. I would think the same would go w/your beliefs (I would think). I would never say that crap about anything you believe, b/c personally I think it's tacky and a lack of respect. Laurend, did say she grew up in a small (maybe sheltered town). I also grew up in the south (NC), but I have experienced a lot of stuff. I guess I just don't see how you can be an atheist knowing how you are prejudged a lot and then say some of that same crap to someone else.
  20. Whatever? You can say what you want to say but if someone made that same comment about something related to you, you would think the same thing. You are clearly white, your a woman, and your overweight. If someone said that crap to you, I guarantee you wouldn't be saying that. All fat white woman aren't bad, some are good. What the?!

    More f*&%#ing SNOW!

    What in the world?!
  23. What's your point? Let me replace what you said what some other stuff... I know many whites are good people (although, I don't see most "missionary work" as being something to be proud of), but I still see white every day that are mean, bigoted, and disgraceful human beings. I know many asians are good people (although, I don't see most "missionary work" as being something to be proud of), but I still see asians every day that are mean, bigoted, and disgraceful human beings. I know many muslims are good people (although, I don't see most "missionary work" as being something to be proud of), but I still see muslims every day that are mean, bigoted, and disgraceful human beings. I know many gays are good people (although, I don't see most "missionary work" as being something to be proud of), but I still see gays every day that are mean, bigoted, and disgraceful human beings. Do you not see what you are doing? Sounds like a bunch of stereotyping and prejudging. I know many blacks are good people (although, I don't see most "missionary work" as being something to be proud of), but I still see blacks every day that are mean, bigoted, and disgraceful human beings. And I think they majority of people in this country do know Muslims and Jews. Just @ work alone I can name Muslims, Jews, and many other groups. A lot of people don't allow themselves to get to know other people. Sure there are some towns and areas that are segregated, but come on.. Why don't you think missionary work is something to be proud of?
