Hi, I am 27. I wish I would have better able to get the surgery @ 21. If I got surgery then, I can only imagine where I would be now (weight wise).

I think most of us have wondered @ some point why we can't do it without surgery. I can't answer that, but it's like wow now I have an opportunity to get it done regardless. I'm sure he's scared. I am terrified sometimes, but I am more afraid of what will happen to me if I don't lose this weight. Good luck w/the rest of your pre-op tests.

Don't 2nd guess your decision. During the time yal have been married has he seen your struggle with your weight. If it were as simple as he's making it sound everyone would be skinny. I haven't told that many people, but the ones I have told were very supportive. Shockingly supportive...I think it's b/c they know I have tried hard and no succeeded. And point blank they want to see me live. I have one coworker (friend now I guess) that I told b/c of different reasons. I have known her less than a year. I don't think she really understands my struggle and I really try not to hold her comments against me. She is overweight also and I think some of it is envy. She keeps stressing how she's going to do it w/LA weightloss. All I say is good for her. My long time friends and family truly understand.

Hi, my banding date is February 20th......I am really nervous too..My main fear is the fill..From what I have seen most people say it isn't painful, but needles bother me. I am nervous about the surgery too. I think I will do well w/it, but sometimes I still wonder. I am just going to try really hard and pray about it.

I don't think Lisalee's comment was ugly. I think it's the other way around. You would think Rosie would be more compassionate being that's overweight herself. She should understand why people would want to take action to lose weight. I am pre-band, so I am in the same situation as Rosie.

I don't think my current company outsources. My previous company did some for their call center, imaging, and paperwork processing. People @ work were concerned @ first, but the company said b/c of the outsources they didn't have to do a layoff... I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing. I think there are some good reasons for outsourcing. One of my closest friends was laid off in November from IBM. They had to train people in India (I think) to do their jobs. She didn't really have a huge problem with it. She got a good chunk when she left IBM and it ended up being better for her in the long run. Before the layoff there was a lot of rumors and she was really nervous. Now she thinks it's the best thing that could have happened to her.

I know there are people that to hold women in lower esteems than men. There are probably a lot of them. I have talked to many people and been shocked @ some of their reasonings and opinions. I can honestly say I have no problem with it. If a woman was the right candidate, I wouldn't think twice about it. Women have been running countries for years..And we are once again behind as usual.

So, it's a whole week of clear liquids. I have been wanting to know the postop the last couple of days. I should have just asked. I hope that week goes by fast!!

These were the hotels I got from Marilyn: Doubletree & Comfort Inn on Iliff or Hampton Inn, Best Western, & La Quinta on Abilene....I am leaning more towards a suites hotel though since it will be 3 adults for 4 nights. I forgot about this list. Safety: I definitely understand that...I think I may go ahead and hold my top choices until I decide. Please come back and let me know about your hotel. Thanks!!

Thanks you guys....Yal have been really inspirational to me. And thank you Drewslou for posting about Dr. Kirshenbaum b/c without you I would have never found out about him. I have been wondering about Marjon. Hopefully he will post soon.

Yup, when I go to other people's houses I forget and try to fastforward. I never watch reg tv. I start at least 15 or so minutes behind, except for the news.

I always wonder how they find those people that they do the little interviews with. Do they find them before hand or do the little interview things after the fact. I can't wait until they go to Hollywood, that's when I really start getting into it. I like the guy that song the Amos Lee song. I think it was Arms of an Angel, I can't remember. No one else really stood out to me.

I used to love the Geico commercial where the lady falls in love w/the geico. And she was swinging him around. The commercial was so cute it was funny to me. Since I have a DVR, I never really watch commercials anymore.

It finally feels real!! I booked my surgery for February 20th with Dr. Kirshenbaum. I am going to leave NC on 2/19 and come back on 2/23. I am really excited/happy, but I also feel very anxious and scared. I feel like I have made the right chose. Everyone @ the office has been very friendly and helpful. I have booked our flights and the rental car. The only thing I need now is to find a hotel. I would appreciate any suggestions.
