"I Love my band" I just want to shout it out to perfect strangers. I want to talk about it with my friends. I want to tell people I've just met. I know it's annoying. I try to keep my enthusiasm subdued. It's hard though. I've had my band for 7 months now. I'm not really a newbie anymore. I've lost 42 pounds. That's not hugely successful when compared with all of those who lose 100 pounds in 6 months! But, I still love my band. It was the best decision I ever made for myself. Why do I love it you ask (and I can't wait to tell you)? I love it because: 1. I don't have to diet. There is no starting a diet on Monday to only make it to Tuesday afternoon and then binge on a case of snowball cupcakes. 2. I no longer feel deprived on a regular basis. I spent many hours, many days feeling deprived when I was eating healthy. I just wanted to eat what I wanted to eat when I wanted to eat it. It was exhausting trying to not overeat every single day. I craved that over full feeling. It was only at that point that I was satisfied. That satisfaction never lasted though. 3. My stomach dysfunctions are gone. I used to stay constipated alternating with moments of sheer terror that I wouldn't make it to the bathroom in time. I used to have indigestion frequently. I used to have lots of gas and burping. 4. I'm consistently losing weight. I've lost 42 pounds in 7 months. I haven't gained more than a pound back since I got my band. 5. I can't believe I'm going to say this but it's 100% true. I eat to nourish my body more than I eat to satisfy myself. I can easily choose healthy foods now. If I have a choice between a cookie or a banana I'm more likely to choose the banana now. So here I am shouting it out to the world. I love my band. I'm over the top excited about how it's working for me. I love my band.

Hi all! I'm Lisa. I live near Seattle and I was banded in early January of this year. I've lost 42 pounds so far and am happy with that. I spent a couple of months not getting a fill (when I needed it) because I love to eat.... go figure. I feel the pendulum swinging in the exercise direction for me. I went from being a marathon runner in 2003/2004 to no exercise at all since then so this getting back into exercise and learning to be consistent with it again is my next challenge. I'm looking forward to all of the support and inspiration that I know I will find here! Lisa

I think it is different for everybody. I was tired for about 10 days. I tried to listen to my body and rest when it wanted me to. When I went back to work after having 8 days off, I found that I was fine not napping even though I felt like it.
