Thinning it down might help make it so I can eat it post-op since they aren't as worried about the carbs after. So I will definitely try that. I love keto chow, or at least I did when I was doing the keto diet a few years back. I only tried the shakes though. I might have to look into those soups, ty! -

So I was looking at broths for my liquid phase and I saw - Campbell's Well Yes! Sipping Soup, Sweet Corn & Roasted Poblano, 11.1 Oz Cup. I looked it up and it's not chunky but it does seem pretty thick. Wondering if its too thick and I should count it more towards the pureed stage. I can have strained cream soups but they want me to limit the carbs pre-op so I don't thinkI can do it pre-op because its pretty high. It looks so yummy though, I just don't know what stage it fits into lol. -

I just got my clever fox wellness planner! It looks awesome. I'm almost scared to write in it though. Like if I put things down in writing that it'll jinx things. I know I've done all the steps, meetings, insurance approval, paid all dues and I have a surgery date set, but its been such a long time (dec/jan) that it almost doesn't seem real. -

Had my last dietitian appointment today. Its weird that it was my last of any type of appointment until my actual surgery date. He just went over my 2 week pre-op diet. They had never mentioned a calorie limit in any of the classes, so I was surpised to find out that they want me to only have up to 800 calories per day for the 2 weeks. Mostly they expect this to happen because of the limited food and low carbs. I was planning on eating cream soups though, strained like they allow on their list but he said to be careful of carbs and to not go over the calorie limit. I think I'm going to have a tougher time then I thought. I have to just keep reminding myself that its temporary -

I found it using my pc and started testing it. It seems pretty nice. I tried to put it on my phone and it keeps giving me an error, so I'll try that later. I do like the recipie adder, it was super simple. I compared the caleries and fat etc to what the baritastic app says and what the actual food says and it was way closer. I have been eating canned chicken sandwiches lately and the can says it has 2.5g fat for the 5 oz can. Fitness pal said 3g and baritastic says 10g. I got scolded by my dietition for eating too much fat and I found out it was the app being wrong instead of what I actually ate so I'm careful to check that now lol. Now if I can get it to work on my phone, that will be great. -

What trackers are you guys using? I have been using the baritastic app but have seen it have incorrect data and I'm having trouble saving recipies. I am hoping for a free one but if its worth it then I'll pay Any suggestions? -

I saw somewhere on this site a list of soup/broth but I can't remeber where because I've looked at soo many threads. Thats so nice of your co worker and so supportive! My husband told me he for sure was not going on the liquid diet with me. I told him he couldn't or he would die because he's so skinny. He went on the keto diet with me last year to be supportive but he couldn't keep going so I think he's more afraid of diets now. He's never been over weight, so he really doesn't have any experience, but I loved the support. It really does make a difference. -

When you guys start your liquid diet, please share anything you find to help make that time bearable. I'm not looking forward to it at all , but my surgery isn't until the 19th so most of you will start before me. Hopefully I can learn from you guys -

Welcome and I go through times of nerves and excitement. I've wanted to get the bypass for years so I was super excited when my husband switched jobs and it was now mostly covered by insurance. The closer it gets the more I get nervous because its a big change and because its a choice. Honestly, if I don't get the surgery I'll probably just keep getting bigger and more amd more unhealthy. I have years of proof to myself that regular diets of every other kind have only been temporarily successful. I just have to keep reminding myself of that though lol. -

I agree that the liquid diet seems a great place to start. Thats when I think I'll take my offiicial starting weight and hope that I lose something during the 2 weeks of pre op torture lol. -

I have the worst time with exercise at all! My daughter and I started out well enough for us at walking 10 min, 3 times a week. But then we had a trip and a wedding and we haven't exercised at all. I know I need exercise, I just have a bad time with motivation and sticking to it. I want to get up in the morning and just do it and get it over with, but since its not a habit yet I haven't succeeded. This month things have to change though, surgery is coming up and I need good habits. I love that you have a reasonable goal and flexibility to your schedule so that you are kind to yourself. I am not going to sub any meals with protien drinks until I have to but I think thats a great idea. I am trying to eat less fat and I'm so proud of myself because I have been able to stop drinking soda completely. My whole life I have been addicted to soda and hated water but now I don't buy any and I don't miss it either. I've noticed I have more energy and I'm less hungry after switching to water too. I think my biggest food challenge is the not drinking with meals. I have tried it and I seem to just get thirstier and thirstier. I think its just a mental thing but its a hard one for me. Even eating out, how do you even get a drink at all? Usually its 30 min for us once the meal has arrived and then get the bill and leave. Maybe I can get a water to go? I don't know lol. -

Have you tried any of the bone broth? I have ordered fire and kettle in chicken and beef flavor but I haven't tried it yet. It was recomended to me by my dietition. If you are comfortable sharing I would love to hear what types of weekly goals you set yourself. I think it would make the time go faster if I broke it up into weeks so I think that you have a wonderful idea there. Your surgery is just 1 day after mine it seems, so we have the same amount of time to fill The bottles are a great idea. I did buy some ice cube trays because I didn't actually have any and I read that they hold about 2 oz each cube. Just in hopes of not wasting too much food after the surgery. I am glad to hear chobani is good. I haven't tried it yet but it was the only sugar free brand I saw available. With this heat, popsicles will be a nice treat -

I just started ordering things to get ready and to kind of spread out the purchases since I still have a month before I start the liquid diet. Anyone else buying stuff yet and what are you getting? I bought myself a pill dispenser that has up to 4 options daily since I'll be taking the ProCare chewables for one month and then the capsules. I have to have 2 calcium chews a day with that and my thyroid meds too. I bought only a month worth of the chewables and a 3 month supply of the capsules. I tried 2 different protien drinks and I like the premier over the ensure that the Drs office gave me. So I have a few flavors of that. I don't want to drink them before I need them but I hope I like them when I do have to drink them. Its weird to me that jello, pudding and yogurt are allowed on a liquid diet, but I'm not going to argue since I think I'll probably appreciate the thickness over broth. I'm a planner as you can tell and I just want to be prepared but not too much or it might even spoil beforeI get to use it. Anything else you guys are doing to get ready? -

I'm new and scheduled for bypass Sept 19th. Can't belive its finally getting close because I started the process in Jan. Looking forward to a new me but scared too. Its weird because I've been on so many diets but this time is the 1st time I feel real hope for success but I don't want to get my hopes up too high either. So how do I get info under my name that everyone seems to have?
