    Hidden triggers

Delete the apps, unsubscribe from the emails, remove the phone numbers from your contact lists & toss the letterbox drops. Can’t stop all the bombardment but at least you can reduce it & remove some of the easy access to it all. This is my plan… definitely deleting everything!
  3. I’m learning to identify hidden triggers pre-op… one of which is my damn phone! How many fast food pizza and restaurant/delivery apps do I have?! 27. This also applies to my email. I just got an email from Taco Bell at 7 am for something and it got me to thinking how hungry I am ( actual stomach hunger) and pondered stopping in my way to work ( something I never do!) so there it is.
  4. This. I honestly didn’t mean to quit, ( before testing and all that jazz), but my husband accidentally bought zero nicotine vape juice and we didn’t even know for several weeks ( I will add here that during those weeks I did have strange cravings for cigarettes- but didn’t give in). Just had nicotine and cotitine (?) testing and it was zero! I still vape from time to time, but no nicotine is awesome!
  5. Can anyone describe their level of physical fitness before surgery? I’ve had a big knee injury and can do very little movement. With poor physical fitness, is recovery from WLS harder? I feel like my whole body is a such mess ( between knee and related issues) and my recovery will be harder and longer. Any reality to that thinking?

    Jealous!

Yes! What I’m doing in the meantime is mental health prep. I’ve started a blog, reading lots of books on eating disordered thinking, brain training.
  7. I’m so jealous of those who have only a couple of weeks/days until surgery. I wish I was there. I have probably another 6 months. 😵‍💫

    SIPS Surgery

"Also known as the Single-Anastomosis Duodenal Switch,” Yes! That’s the other description I’ve seen. Shopgirl- that is essentially exactly what my doctor said as well. Thank you for your response was!
  9. I’m at the very beginning, just wondering what tips you followers pre- surgery that made things easier afterwards?
  10. Hi everyone, I'm just starting on this journey and have mete with my surgeon who mentioned SIPS surgery (Stomach Intestinal Pylorus Sparing). From what I understand it's somewhat of a combination of gastric bypass and duodenal switch surgery. I am not finding much research on it at all, which makes me wonder if it's a good choice. My surgeon advised he will do either surgery ( I'm pretty well set in mind with GP, but am open to options). He described the effects of increased weight loss, lowered rate of ulcers, strictures, & bowel obstructions, increased absorption of nutrients, lowered risk of diarrhea, increased hormonal changes. Has anyone ever had this done or seen much information about it? I still have more than enough time to decide, so I'm in no rush to make a decision. I'd love to hear your experiences with this!
  11. I'm new too! in fact just found this site today and I'm SOOO excited to see all this! I JUST started as well, yet I'm already 4 appointments in, and lots of tests done. I have easily 6 months before surgery. I'm so excited for this process.
