    Taking medications with Lap Band

Thanks for this information. It's good to know that others suffering with a serious disease such as Sarcoid has had this surgery and is not having complications, in addition to seeing some improvement in symptoms. I hope this works for me, and I would also LOVE to see my IBS and gas problems go completely away after this surgery. I am sooo looking foward to it! I am also on Weight Watchers and have been for about 15 weeks now and too be hones, it's not working quite right for me and I believe it's because I am always hungry or snacking and I believe that comes from taking the Prednisone. So my weight is fluctuating up and down 1-3 lbs. Well I wish everyone having this surgery good luck and thanks again for the helpful information!!! Also going to check with my dr about the med Plaquenil and Cellcept because I do not like taking that Methotraxate which I believe contributed to my hair loss. Take care. Gina

Have You Seen A Video Of the Surgery, If Not..

No problem. Yeah, I thought it was very helpful to see. Gina
  6. I have reviewd a very good Lap Band procedure on this site today. If you are curious this should help you get an idea of how the procedure is done and they are also answering questions during the surgery so you might find some helpful information here as well. Enjoy! Weight Loss Surgery Videos Gina
  7. All who are on this site apparently have something in common; we all want to lose the weight, feel healthy, attractive, confident and sexy!!! I'm curious has anyone made a love connection on this site, lthough that was not your intentions? In other words you made a connection with someone here that you found you had much more in common than just the fat and wanting to get rid of it for good? It would be nice to hear those stories. I'm a single mom and I haven't dated in years and by choice. But not because of the weight. I just want to find the right person for me and although this is not the platform for it, sometimes people who share similar situations, life challenges, etc., can find love in unsuspecting places. You know how the question goes, "So, how did you two meet"? If there are some successful love connections that started here on this site, and you are happy, and you want to share, I'd like to hear a good story, even see some before and after photos!! Good luck to all. Gina, from VA:wub:

Has Anyone Made a Love Connection?

Perhaps I need to move this post to another section on the site. Thanks Slim for the forum info!

Has Anyone Made a Love Connection?

This post was for those interested in the topic, not for negative responses. It's just like if you see something you don't like, do you buy it anyway? In regards to what people are here for, in my post, those were examples of what you hear people say when they talk about their weight. Yeah many of us are doing it to be healthy, but there are many people who get cosmetic surgery, to become more attractive or because they don't like what they see in the mirror; this includes losing the weight whether it's having surgery to remove it, or whether we stop stuffing our faces and exercise to loose it, (for those who can)! And that my friend, is just being real!! If you find that you see a post that does not relate to you or your the least bit interested, please save the hate. I'm not using this site for ranting and raving, I'm posting interesting topics as it relates to weight loss and it can very well include relationships and happiness! Someone could have found the love of their life through weight struggles together and on this sight perhaps, and that's what this topic is about. If it relates to you, I'd like to hear your responses. If it doesn't then you should probably not even pay attention and move to something that interests you. Peace and blessings....

Here's a doozy! IBS and Lactose Intolerant!!

Awww, that's too bad! I was definately hoping that it would help my stomach issues because I drive part way to work and then take the train the rest of the way and oh how my stomach issues kick in almost always as soon as I pull into that train station, if not, it starts as soon as I sit my but down on the train. Then I have to quickly hop right off the train and go to the bathroom. There is only one toilet at the train station and don't let someone else be waiting for you, or someone might be in there and you have to wait for them. Sometimes I have to go to this hotel and it's just such as debilitating disease. It has on many many occaisions disrupted my trips to and from places and I just pray each day that my stomach doesn't give me problems. Well we will see. Hopefully this surger will improve my conditions...

    Drs Halmi/Tran

I'm going to them. I'm in the beginning stages and my insurance requires 6 months of physician lead classes. I met Brittany in my first class last month. I will be taking my second class on the 26th.
  13. :thumbdown:Okay, I've discussed my having Sarcoid with lung issues. Now my other big issue is foods. I don't want to eat mashed food first off  unless it's mashed potatoes, squash or something like that, the problem is I am a very very gassy and it's to the point where I want to call 911 for HELP!! LOL! My little 8 year old is always laughing and he is just a funny little man anyway just cracks me up, but he thinks the sound of gas is soo funny and it is, but I am always passing gas! It has gotten to the point where not only do I experience that but I have IBS and am Lactose intolerant!! So I'm hoping that the banding will ease a lot of the stomach problems that I have, but my concern is with all of these issues, what will I be able to eat. I will be working with a nutritionist and I hope that they can really help me because I can't eat beans, eggs, milk, potatoes, greens, grapes, almost anything that I eat gives me GAS!! I want to loose the weight but I don't want to become malnurished! Does anyone have IBS and are you Lactose Intolerant and what in the heck are you able to eat. I can eat all that I've mentioned, but it will mess my stomach right up and I do eat some of those foods from time to time, but I just don't know what to eat that will be good for my stomach and body! I want all of these stomach issues to go away but I want to be able to eat, feel satisfied and get my nutrients. Even salads give me gas and indigestion sometimes!!

    Taking medications with Lap Band

I have to take Vitamin D pills because of the Prednisone and those things are huge! I am not sure if I am supposed to crush those but I'm supposed to take 2 a day! Also that Boniva pill is kind of large! My other pills are fairly small though. Now I am going to post a new thread about eating because I have stomach issues as well and cannot eat certain foods and dairy so this is going to be a real challnege for me!! I also chew fast!!

    Banding with Autoimmune Disease

WOW! This is great news, my doctor never said anything about risks regarding banding and autoimmune diseases, but someone here gave me a heads up and told me that their doctor would not do it if the patient has any autoimmune disease. I am looking forward to it and will be so glad to get the weight off so that I can start exercising again and hopefully my breathing will be much better and allow me to do so.
