    What am I doing wrong?

I still deal with some light headness. I do my best to go very slow when it happens.

Have faith.... you started heavier than me. Don't give up. I also walk everyday, no less than 3 miles but sometimes closer to 6. Everyday no matter the weather.

    What am I doing wrong?

Just have faith. I have lost approximately 80 pounds (includes pre-surgery loss). My surgery was Oct 3 2022. I get slightly frustrated if I look at the scale too closely. I rely on measurements and how my clothes fit. As well as pictures. Knowing I've lost, I'm still amazed when I look at side by side pictures. I've been stuck between 164-166 since the beginning of April. But if I look at my weekly average, my total loss has stayed at an average of 1.5 pounds per week. Remember the recommend loss for standard weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. The first stall I had was 3 weeks long then I loose for about 4 weeks before my next stall. Each stall lasts between 3 to 5 weeks for me each time. Then again, I don't have regular bowl movements (never have). Usually, my stall ends after a movement. LOL. Just keep your head up and stay strong. You are doing great. The closer we get to our goal the tougher it will be.

    insurance frustration

Why was paperwork submitted to insurance that doesn't cover bariatric surgery? I have two insurances as well. Primary covers bariatric surgery but secondary doesn't. My doctor's office said that they won't even submit bariatric procedure to secondary, only procedures and office visits that can fall under other parameters.

I start my liquid diet on the 19th. I have 11 days of full liquid and 3 days of clear.
  7. I start my pre-op diet on Sept 19th. Mine is 11 days of full liquid with a minimum of 120g protein and 64+ oz of water throughout the day. Followed by 3 days of clear liquid, nothing red or orange. I will be having the bypass with hernia repair.

    October 2022 surgery support

My gastric bypass with hernia repair is scheduled for October 3, 2022 pending insurance approval.
  9. So, my Doctor's office kinda surprised me when they scheduled my surgery date. They told me date of Oct 3 and then come back on the 4th for a follow up. I was surprised because everything I have read has had gastric bypass as a two night stay. Has anyone this? If so, how long were you there before you were sent home? What did you bring with you, other than comfy clothes?
  10. My last nutrition appointment was on Aug 31. My Doctor's office said they would submit to insurance after my Doctor was done with his notes. Sometime between that afternoon and close of business the next day. But they did warn me that the insurance company my not even get to it until this past tuesday, 9/6 due to labor day. But, before I left on the 31st I was scheduled for my last pre-surgery appointment for blood work and chest xray. As well as, my surgery date of Oct 3rd pending insurance approval to have it done at the surgery center. If not approved for surgery center and insurance wants it done at Hospital my date will be adjusted. I start my 14 day liquid diet on 9/19 based on the 10/3 surgery date. I really hope I get an approval before the 19th that way I am not on the pre-surgery diet longer.
  11. For those of you who already have your date or have had your surgery...... How much input did you have in choosing the date?? I am well aware that surgery has to be approved by insurance if not self-pay before date is confirmed. Little background.... My insurance doesn't require a set amount of nutrition or doc appointments. Basically just inititial consult, sych consult, EDG, 1 nutrition and 1 with the surgeon. I have had in order: initial consult, sych consult, appointment with surgeon to confirm that I want to do this, EDG, nutrition appointments so far. I have an appointment at the end of this month to see how I am doing with my adjusted nutrition intake with medicine I was put on for inflamed esophogus, hiatil hernia and severe acid in my stomach. At this appointment I am to meet with the surgeon again to discuss what was found during EDG as well as to discuss potential surgery dates. I am told that after this appointment they will submit to my insurance company. Again my question is this - For those of you who already have your date or have had your surgery...... How much input did you have in choosing the date??

    Choosing Surgery Date

@ShoppGirl - this date is figuring my 14 day liquid diet. I've done ALOT of planning. I pray for my co-workers, LOL. If I can have surgery on the 22nd of Sept, I will be with my co-workers the entire time for 12 hours a day. My family will only have to deal with me for a couple hours a day before I go to sleep.

    Choosing Surgery Date

I want to have mine done as soon as possible also. I hope it doesn't forever for my insurance to come back approved. I am hoping for a end of Sept date. My work schedule doesn't work with anything earlier than Sept 22, 2022 and I need to be back for the next rotation schedule starting Nov 3, 2022.

    Eosinophilic esophagitis

I received the same diagnosis after EDG, but I knew this was a possibility due to severe reflux the last 20 years. (NONE of my other primary care physicians would listen to concerns. They just blew me off. Trust my I've chanced PCP several times before finding one that would listen to my concerns.) I was put on medicine to help reduce some of the inflammation. My nutritionist also advised me that carbonated drinks do not help at all, if anything make it worse. She prepared me to the fact that when I meet with my surgeon at the end of the month to expect him to recommend the Gastric By-Pass surgery.
