I also had a problem over my port. First, after some yard work I noticed a bubble over/on top of my scar. I am one month post op so just thought I over did it. A few days later I noticed what looked like a hair/turned out to be a stitch, so I pulled on it. Out came a good bit of a yellowish creamy ooze. I pressed untill I thought it was all out. Also some air bubbles oozed as well. I wondered if this actually opened to my stomach!!! Called the Dr. and was told this was an infected stitch, wash with antibacteral soap, use anti. ointment and it would be fine. Now I wonder if/when I can get my first fill. It does look better but I would rather wait and be sure it has all healed before having a needle inserted back into this area? Can anyone relate?

Hello All, I found this thread just today as I am new to this website. I have a surgery date of Aug. 21 and have lost 12 lbs. so far on the pre-op. I read about all the goal weights and was wondering...how did you choose your goal weight? Did your Dr. make a recommendation? Weight at 21? Just wondering. Thanks -
Hello all! I too am on the pre-op plan. My instructions are two liquid protein meals a day, one breakfast meal of (choose one serving of two)toast, oatmeal, yogurt, eggs, and then an evening meal of one lean meat and two servings of green vegetables (anything green). This is close to about 1000 calories a day and over 70 gms. of protein. I have felt surprisingly good...If I think about food, my head gets hungry but I know I do not want to mess this up. Best of luck to all of you.

I will have surgery Aug. 21 and I too use a CPAP machine. Did you take this to surgery with you? The papers I brought home says to bring it, but with all the monitors I do not see it as mandatory. What did you take with you? Thanks and good luck as you continue to heal. God Bless.

Hello to everyone. I have a surgery date in two weeks and I am on the pre-op eating plan. I am also nervous but so anxious to begin my own journey. I had alot of my questions answered but was wondering....what all did you take to the hospital? The nurse mentioned wearing "loose" clothes. Does she know how long its been since I had LOOSE clothes !! lol Thanks for the help.
