Well, so far I've lost 7 lbs since Weds which is pretty darn good if you ask me. I'm thrilled!:cool2: I'm going to go walking with my husband after "dinner" (sorry, but a mug of nothing soup will never constitute dinner, no matter how hard it tries).
-
I got some of that Special K protien water at the store last night- is it any good? I'm eating jello that I added protein bullets to right now. I can't drink Isopure- shame I wasted the money on them.
-
90g of protein Bridgette? How did you do that!? I can barely get it in my goal of 60 on a good day!

I've actually been sleeping on my side since I came home. We don't have a recliner, but I had 3 bed options- our big king-sized bed, my son's twin bed, or the queen sized matress that lives on the floor in our guest room (it had a box spring, but it wouldn't fit up the stairs when we moved in). I ended up using the steps that we have in S' room and sleeping in our king-sized bed. I'm a die-hard side sleeper, so I just finagled myself onto my side and stayed there. It hasn't been so bad. A little painful getting up an down, but once I'm there, I'm good. I was told to remove the bandages Sunday, but I'm waiting an extra day, that way I can call the doctor's office in case there's a problem instead of trekking to the emergency room. They're starting to itch like crazy, though, and the one on the top left is starting to leak. Yuck. I plan on weighing myself for the first time today. Wish me luck!

Ugh, me too, Maggie. I'm having such issues finding comfortable clothes to wear in public. What did they do to your openings? Mine have this weird plastic bandage stuff over them, which I'm supposed to remove tmw.

I wasn't supposed to, but ended up spending the night. I'm glad I did, too.
-
Navywife, I was required to go, but I just got a referral from my PCM to see the military nutritionist on-base. It didn't cost me a dime.

I'm home! I feel pretty good, but that might be the vicodin talking. I had to end up spending the night because they had to repair a hernia while they were in there. I'm so glad to finally be home!

GL Cindy! I'm leaving in a few! I'm so freaking nervous!

Booooooooooo, poor Karina. I don't think the military hospital goes through TriCare (I almost went to Walter Reed for my surgery, but decided not to when I was going to have to wait 2 months for an appt).
-
Yup! Only 3 days! I can't believe it! I'm supposed to go home the same day unless there is a problem. Yippee! I just got back from meeting my dad so my parents can take my son for a couple of weeks- now it's just me and the husband in the house, which is odd...and quiet.

No, but it was on our short list. No, we named him Seamus. And what amazes me is the people who assume we're HUGE Harry Potter fans and that's why we picked the name. 1. No, we're not huge fans- my husband likes the books, I couldn't get into them and 2. if we were huge fans, why would we name him after a minor character instead of, y'know, Harry or Ronald or something?
-
Yeah, I was kidding- although I get asked that question constantly (does he have dual citizenship? is he japanese? did you name him after the character in harry potter?). He has a US birth certificate and a US passport. That website had a copy of Obama's birth certificate- saying he was born in Hawaii.

My son was born in Japan while we were stationed there in 2005 (military)- does that make him Japanese?

Tricare Prime vs. Tricare Standard
tomatogirl replied to DaniKLargo's topic in Insurance & Financing
You are probably dealing with the same Tricare lady I did (the one who decides these things for the greater DC area), Pat Nealson. If you want her direct number, I have it. She tried to pull that 6 month diet crap on me at the last minute, but I had a freaking fit because I had already wasted 2 months trying to get an answer, so she accepted my written diet history. -
Tri Care and the Phych Eval...Does it cover it?
tomatogirl replied to SusieC's topic in Insurance & Financing
I would- it's harder for someone to say no in person. Try to get his/her direct number, so you can call for any more stuff. -
Tri Care and the Phych Eval...Does it cover it?

That's awful. My PCM did my referral for me, but she has been pretty helpful with anything I've needed. I'd call and beg. -
Tri Care and the Phych Eval...Does it cover it?
tomatogirl replied to SusieC's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have Prime and I haven't paid one red cent for anything except my initial doctor's visit, which cost me a whopping $25. I got my PCM to refer me to psych, so that was covered and I went to the military nutrisionist, so that didn'tcost me anything, either. -
Welcome back, Penny!

well, for one, it's a word document. Try saving it as an image. -

I've been avoiding telling my MIL about my surgery because she's very judgemental, plus I didn't want to have to explain if insurance denied me. My son is going to stay with my parents while I'm recouping and they're planning on taking him to see her. My husband pointed out that if I don't tell her, our three-year-old's big mouth will. So, I finally spoke with her the night before last and the conversation went as badly as I imagined it would. She thought it was awful. She said that I was jumping into this decision and that I was making a huge mistake doing this while I was so young (1. I didn't jump into an decision, 2. I WANT to do this while I'm still young). She said if I were going to have anything I should have had RNY, because it's been around longer (:grouphug: So has anorexia- would she like me to try that?). I thought I would feel worse about all her negativity, but honestly, I just don't care. I'm doing this for me, not her. My husband says she's just jealous- she's probably 300+ lbs and probably wants the surgery herself. Oh well, she knows now.

Sounds like you need a new one- ours did that and I finally just sucked it up and bought a new one. Scales aren't made to last forever and ever.
