The beginning of a new life!

I was banded on August 19, 2008. I have had 1 adjustment and am due to have the second one in February.
  2. I am the third in my family to have weight loss surgery. My husband had the bypass about 5 years ago, took off 129 and has recently put on a considerable amount. We are "discussing" his options. Our youngest daughter had banding 2 years ago and dropped 75 lbs. the first year. She is keeping it off, but is consuming a lot more food than she should (she eats extremely slowly but eats a lot!). Out middle daughter was banded in December and has taken off 88 lbs. She still eats small portions and eats slowly. She "strays" occasionally to have something from her old way of eating! I just turned 57 am a mom to 3 and a grandma to 4! I was banded on Aug. 19th and returned home 6 hours after surgery. Everything seemed uneventful. After nursing the other 3 I thought that I'd be an old pro! Yea, right! My doctor (Dr. Abkin in Florham Park) had me on clear liquids for 48 hours and I started with Stage II yesterday. I had jello and whipped cottage cheese in the am. There was no way I could eat the 4 oz I measured out, but did manage to get 2 oz down in about an hour+. For lunch I was allowed a low fat creamed soup. I strained it before eating but wasn't able to have more than 1 oz. It seemed to feel like it stayed in my pouch for the rest of the day. I didn't have anything except small sips of clear liquids on and off until bedtime. I felt nauseous, but didn't vomit! I felt a little better this morning and went back to clear fluids. The chicken broth was filling but couldn't even finish 1 oz before feeling full. I have to take my blood pressure med but I am afraid to take it! **WHEN AND HOW SHOULD YOU TAKE YOUR MEDS?** I see the doctor next Thursday, and since it is Sat. I don't want to call... My daughters advice is to "take tiny sips". I do! This is getting sooooooo frustrating!
