I am glad I am not the only one trying out Protein Shakes ahead of time. Every time someone posts a new one I get dressed and go shopping!! So far Gen Soy (unflavored Soy Protein with Hershey's syrup added to skim milk) is horrible and I am not thrilled with any of the Unjury packs I have tried. The EAS Advantage (best price Walmart) isn't too bad. I am going to try the Isopure soon, can't find the Cytosport anywhere in this town. Also can't find the Slim Fast Carb control.

Mimilou2004 replied to Miss Undastood's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like that....October Odyssey!!!! Mine is October 7th at 0830. Mimi -
I too hope yours is fast. I think it is because Standard has to co-pay so much, but some posters with Prime said theirs went thru in 2 days which is also exceptionally fast. Mimi

Mimilou2004 replied to SoCalCass's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I am October 7th and am waiting impatiently. Thank goodness for LBT!!!!! Mimi -
Jenny, I gained 10 pounds on purpose to make the 100 pound requirement. I also shrunk an inch, LOL.
-
I have Tricare, also, but Standard not Prime. It was about 10 minutes to be approved.

What did your "unkinking" surgery consist of? Sorry for your added pain. Mimi -
Keep up the good work, Wickedme. You deserve to be happy and healthy.

I know it is far in the future but reading this site daily will help you prepare mentally and physically. Use this time to talk to your insurance company to find out what they require for approval. for example some insurance companies want a documented 6 month diet attempt, others say you have to have a certain BMI. Best wishes, Mimi

I am over eager and haven't been to the classes yet. Banding not til Oct 7th. I am just trying to get ahead of the curve and decrease my anxiety by trying most of the things mentioned on LBT!!!

Does anyone know if Isopure is OK on the 1st week post op clear liquid diet? Mimi
-
I have Standard Tricare. Thanks for the click on thread, I should have paid for Prime Tricare before I started this journey!!!! Mimi
-
Tricare told me on the phone it was approved, never got anything in the mail. I have Tricare Standard and my Doc is out of Network so I am paying a large co-pay and %. Plus, my preop stuff will be in one fiscal year and my surgery (Oct 7) in another fiscal year so I am not even maxing out to get any free care. Oh, well, better than paying for it all on my own. Mimi
-
Now this is frustrating to read, one Tricare will and one won't? Now I don't know if mine are covered!!! Guess I will call. Answer was no, not covered in the initial price, each fill is billed as a separate event for my situation.
-
Maribelle, I just got the call booking my surgery Oct 7th. I am disappointed it is so far away in the future, but like other members say, I can use the time to practice small bites and chewing chewing chewing!!!!

Just starting- Tricare in San Diego
Mimilou2004 replied to yepitskelly's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi, it took Tricare Standard about 10 minutes to approve me. My docs are NOT in the Network and I have a 25% co-pay, at least. It is all the other tests and referrals that are holding me up. I am 100 over with 3 co-morbidities. -
Getting started and nervous
