Chocolate, even 1 bite, sends me on a binge, the latest of which lasted 3 whole days and 4 bags of Dove and Bliss chocolates. I refuse to weigh myself because I don't want to change my ticker!!!! Mimi

If only I had a clean up technician, LOL!!!!! Mimi

Yippee for the no slip and the little unfill. I am so happy you did it and are feeling better. Mimi

I think you should have a couple of PS consults and see what the PS recommends. I know you are eager to have it done, I have 6 weeks til I get mine and am trying to get as much wt off as possible and as toned as possible before the surgery. I come from a long line of big armed women and am looking forward to having normal size arms. Best of luck on your journey. Mimi

Blueangel, I got the no beans turkey chili at Walmart. I can eat it for lunch and not worry about making music!!! I would like to try the turkey with beans, too. Yes, Btrieger, making one's own is best, but sometimes ppl like me are horrible cooks!!!! I am going to try your recipe though....thanks for posting it. Mimi

Skinnyjeans turn for a flat tummy
Mimilou2004 replied to skinnyjeans's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I am glad you can get to your computer to post. I hate that your pump will run out today, I hope your oral meds will see you through. I had to laugh at your wanting to peek at your tummy, I don't know how I will bear the suspense, either!!!! I have no hubby to police me, but a dear friend will be coming to help me out and she may want a peek, too!!!!! I hope you sleep well tonight. Mimi -
Wannabthinagain's journey
Mimilou2004 replied to wannabthinagain's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Wannabe, it is so exciting, I am happy for you. May I ask how old you are and how you decided to get implants? I am having a tough time deciding. Mimi -
3 months seems excessive to me. I was upset at waiting 6 weeks. If you can't stop gaining, call the office and re-ask for an adjustment. I don't understand these docs that make us wait so long to use our tool....what good is it if it is not adjusted? Best wishes, Mimi

Congratulations on getting banded and doing so well. Keep up the good work and keep posting. Mimi

nauseous, dizzy & stuck?!
Mimilou2004 replied to MissWhitzel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to wonder if they prefilled your band some....please ask that question. Weigh yourself tonight and tomorrow and if you lose 2 more pounds from vomitting please go to the ER or call your surgical on call service. In the meantime, sugar free jello and popsicles count as liquids and try to keep drinking even if it is a spoonful every 10 minutes. Best wishes and let us know how you do. Mimi -
Panniculectomy appeal success!
Mimilou2004 replied to SkinnyKathy's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Kathy, you are a hoot.....I love how you write and your good spirits. Makes me know that if it happens to me it isn't the end of the world or a failure on the doc's part. Please keep posting. Mimi -
I can't imagine that the band is your problem. It isn't altering your absorption of food and nutrients like a sleeve or bypass. I hope you get to the bottom of whatever is the problem, and I hope it is not the band. Mimi

Swelling after plastic surgery - how severe?
Mimilou2004 replied to SkinnyKathy's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Hang in there, Kathy. I am glad your doc is watching out for your electrolyte balance. Mimi -
Panniculectomy appeal success!
Mimilou2004 replied to SkinnyKathy's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Kathy, so sorry about your seroma, that is a lot of fluid to lose....are the giving you IV fluid or are you able to keep up by drinking? I will say a prayer for your speedy healing tonight, if you don't mind. Mimi -
I am fairly restricted now and sort of like it that way. However
Mimilou2004 replied to kplant's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have read threads about mysteriously tight bands for no known reason and there is no definite answer!! Kplant, I agree you need a small unfill. You may not lose wt as fast but your nutrition and quality of life will both be better. Mimi -

Dear girl, I hope you feel better fast. Thanks for posting so soon. I thought you were going to have a pain pump? Mimi -
I almost decided not to
Mimilou2004 replied to Erin18's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Erin, congrats on your 30 pound wt loss and I, too, am sorry the band didn't work out. I wish you every success in the future. Mimi -
5 of the sweetest words...
Mimilou2004 replied to sweetbean70's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sweetbean I know you loved hearing it and believing it is so important!!!!! When ppl compliment me, I have started to just say thank you instead of saying something negative about myself. Yay the band and our partnership!!!! Well, OK, I must also YAY my trainer for making me move my butt, LOL!!! Mimi -
You are doing great and it is important to do what you are doing, counting the victories, scale and non scale!!!! Keep up the great attitude and good work. Mimi
-
Please get an adjustment ASAP...I feel your worries, I have been there!!! It is not the way the band was intended to work, what you are going through now. Restriction is not not being able to eat anything, you should be able to eat a reasonable amount. Please post your decision and outcome. Mimi

does anyone regret having the surgery over losing weight on there own?
Mimilou2004 replied to fatgirlnomore7's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
All of these posts were very important and personal and I honor all of you. I have no regrets, either, and would do it again if necessary. I regret ever getting obese, but I did and it was getting worse by the year. I was about to turn into a recluse except for working. My journey has not always been smooth, but it has been worth everything to have this tool. Soon I will go on maintenance and really find out what true changes the band and I have made. Best wishes, Mimi -
OK, Greytz, I pulled a visual on you and the cutting board meeting up, I think you should tether your hubby to you at mealtimes!!!! I am glad it worked and relieved your misery. Mimi
