I rec'd email notification a short while ago that the site www.fillcentersusa.com is only open for users to get the information to make their own appointments. They are officially done doing business. Mimi

I, too, was wondering....I thought they provided an excellent service especially for banders without a local doc. Maybe the volume wasn't there financially. Mimi

full feeling after fills
Mimilou2004 replied to anjilmist's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You might be a tiny bit overfilled...stay on liquids and mushies for a few day then try a small amount (2-3 bites) of well chewed protein. If you are still having the same feelings get an appt for a small unfill of 0.25-0.5ml. Let us know how you do. Mimi -
Flabby arms (brachioplasty)
Mimilou2004 replied to Dreamalways07's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Eyelids, boobs, and tummy, along with arms. And none of them hurt the way my current bunionectomy hurts!!!!! There is something to be said for waiting a few minutes longer...I didn't wait and ended up losing more weight. There is always some PS out there waiting to take your money!!!! Mimi -
Flabby arms (brachioplasty)
Mimilou2004 replied to Dreamalways07's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am very happy with my brachioplasty...I had major batwings and despite working out 3 times a week the hanging skin wasn't going anywhere!!!! Mimi -
You need to complain to the practice director...NOBODY deserves to be treated that way and she is ignorent and wrong wrong wrong and knows nothing about IDDM and little about the band...don't let her near you again and don't pay yesterday's bill!!! Insist on another practitioner...man, I feel for you....good luck. Mimi

Week 3 after surgery and nervous
Mimilou2004 replied to num1diva1026's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with Bailey...I gained 10 pounds because I was so hungry and the band wasn't yet working and I wasn't exercising. You will lose it, this is a journey not a race. Best wishes, Mimi -
Where/how did you find your personal trainer?
Mimilou2004 replied to Jadebrasil's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Mine is a she and comes to my house. Over time I have acquired a variety of workout equipment so we do lots of things, always changing it up. She is $37.50 an hour and I cut back on many things to be able to afford her,,, without her I don't think I would work out. Right now I am in training to be able to do pull ups/chinups, but am interrupted by a bunionectomy. We are still workng out, though, just not from a standing position, LOL!!! If your first choice doesn't suit your personality, keep trying. I was lucky and met mine through a friend. I am in the best health of my 60 year life. Mimi -
Metabolic rate and calories needed...
Mimilou2004 replied to Jadebrasil's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The easy way and old fashioned way is to allow 10 calories per pound of desired body wt if you are a fairly inactive female. Mimi -
Can't keep proteins down after my last fill
Mimilou2004 replied to DaWnGo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The band relys on firm protein to keep it busy and us full....if you can't tolerate firm proteins then I strongly advise you to get a small unfill while it is still time to get it for free. Even 0.15 ml unfill may be enough to put uou at your sweet spot. I am afraid you will resort to high calorie slider food if you don't get a small unfill. Let us know what you do. Mimi -
Smart Mommy!!!!!!! What a great lesson!!!

I am so happy for you, you are glowing!!!! I noticed you have lost wt all over so I think you must be working out very diligently...yay Rachel!!!! Mimi

Is your band not working or is it you?
Mimilou2004 replied to YngGram's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have been where you are and I got a personal trainer...not a drill sergeant kind but one who is knowledgeable kind and firm.....it has made all the difference in the world,,,,,she encourages me and builds me up, not tears me down. She mixes up the routine and we never do the same thing twice. At 60 I am in the best shape of my life including the 20 years I was in the military!!!! Best wishes, Mimi -

DO YOU 3MEALS A DAY OR 3MEALS WITH 2-3 SNACKS
Mimilou2004 replied to LessyAudra's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It is a hard question to answer since everybody is different. I eat 3 meals and 3 snacks when I am hungry...if I am not hungry I skip a snack. Mimi -
Is this what restriction is or is it too tight?
Mimilou2004 replied to falcon's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
As usual, I totally agree with Cindy!!! Especially if you are able to drink at least 8 glasses of fluid a day I wouldn't mess with the fill. I, too, congratulate you on your wt loss and wish you the best...keep posting and let us know what the result of your appt is. Mimi -
Swelling over port incision
Mimilou2004 replied to bobrocky's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You very well could have a seroma...which is serous Fluid in a sac that the muscle leaks because it is mad about the port being stitched there. Draining it doesn't necessarily make it go away but time does, and yes, if it is a seroma ir will re absorb over time. Another thing it could be is a displaced fat pad that had to be moved for the surgeon to get to the muscle to sew the port on. I hope it resolves for you in a timely manner. Best wishes, Mimi -
Dr. Terry Simpson - program fee
Mimilou2004 replied to 34mom's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I am bitterly against program fees, they are a giant rip off. My practice has all the nut follow up and education you need for no program fee. Insurance won't pay the fee or reimburse you. Call around to see if there is another center of excellence without that extortion payment. Mimi -
Anyone out there recovering from a slipped band?
Mimilou2004 replied to pinklily27's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I wonder if one ever recovers from the slip, psychologically, anyway. I worry about it constantly and this incarnation of the band is nothing like the first band. I have already been told he can't fix another slip and that leaves me no insurance options, which makes me want to cry. Best wishes. Mimi -
I think you may be mistaken....I have Standard and have a huge co pay always but the ppl with prime had no co pay for anything. I was and still am out of pocket for every procedure...I would have switched to prime long ago had I been thinking straught. Dave NW weigh in. Mimi

Lap Band Removed Through Esophagus?
Mimilou2004 replied to gingersnap's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am tricare (standard) and it is hard to interpret the rule...and supposedly new rules are being formulated. I do hope they cover the sleeve soon. My surgeon already said if I slip again he can't fix it. The way Tricare reads now the only option is RNY and I don't want that. Mimi
