Kate's "The Works" special

Thanks for the update, Kate. Do you find you get cold easier now? Does that affect your nipples? Can't wait to see new pictures. Mimi -
Being Defilled in December= Disaster :/
Mimilou2004 replied to mellabella78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to get a defill Dec 15th and have gained 8 pounds, so I feel your pain. I think Teacher07 said something supportive and true......we are still DOWN and it isn't the end of the world, it is a temporary wt gain and a signal for us to dig in and get back on the plan. I can't get an appt for 2 whole weeks, so I am going to try to count calories and increase my treadmill time......and try to be kind to myself and not beat myself up as a failure. Good luck to you, too. Mimi -
In a recent post (that I can't find) someone wrote about Hormel Turkey Chili. I tried it and it is a winner, even though there are no beans in it. The cals are up there, 190 per cup, but it is very filling and has 23 grams of protein and only 3 grams of fat!! I also want to put in a plug for the 99% fat free vegetarian Hormel Chili which is also excellent and very very filling. That one has the same calorie count but 11 grams of Protein and a whopping 10 grams of dietary fiber with 1 gram of fat. Each can has 2 servings. Both kinds have quite a bit of sodium and I am going to contact the company to ask if they have any plans on cutting back on it to make it more healthy. Maybe they will give me free coupons, LOL!!!! Enjoy, Mimi

Congratulations, you have done very very well!!!! Mimi

1% is a nice compromise. Not as fatty as 2% but not as thin as skim. Mimi

Just do the best you can, you will average out your wt loss when you get restriction. I had to get an unfill 2 wks ago and my next fill isn't til 1-14 so I am struggling, too. Try and keep your calorie count to 1500 and walk as much as possible or exercise as tolerated. I know it feels like a set back, but except for "dieting" there is nothing you can do. Know that you are in good company!!!! Best wishes, Mimi

Does Anyone Know What Happen To Luluc
Mimilou2004 replied to speck's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was wondering where she went to, also!!! I miss her posts, too. Mimi -
What you are going through is what happened to me and why I don't try soda any more. Like your doc said, I could not burp and it was scary and painful for hours. Good luck, Mimi

Ohhh- I made a mistake!

Good luck for a speedy approval and OR date!!!!! Mimi -
I agree, you are way too tight. That is no way to live. If you got 1cc fill then ask for .25 or .5 unfill. My last unfill was too much (1.125) and I have gained 5 pounds over the holidays. I wish I had only gotten .5, but it is too late to moan....can't get an appt til 1/14 so I will have to try on my own and then make up for lost time. I did enjoy all the Holiday meals with family with no PB or sliming!!! Best wishes, Mimi

Any activity you do will be good. As you gain strength and coordination maybe you will want to go to the gym, but you can get a great work out from what you have listed. As soon as you can, incorporate 2 or 3 pound dumb bells into your work out. Best wishes, Mimi

Best wishes, Lisa. I agree, if you can see through it it is fair game. Has your surgeon banned all caffeine or just soda? Mimi -
Kate's "The Works" special
Mimilou2004 replied to general_antiope's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Bewbs and arms, but just bewb lift and inherent reduction, not implants. If I decide on implants later I can get them in March when I have my TT. I am way older than you and don't expect bewbs like yours, but it would sure be nice, LOL. Mimi -
Kate's "The Works" special
Mimilou2004 replied to general_antiope's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Just 8 days, Kate. I hope I have not committed to going back to work too soon, I use my arms a lot at work, I write a lot, transcribing and carrying out doctor's orders. I am only taking off 16 days. Thanks for the update on your progress. I hate that you are having that strange feeling in your tummy. You made me laugh with your "intervention" comment!!!!! When will the stitches come out of your arms? Mimi -
Kate's "The Works" special
Mimilou2004 replied to general_antiope's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Kate, I am sorry you aren't sleeping all night, hopefully it will change soon. It is great that your suture line is healing so well most places. Do your arms hurt? Or can you do everything with them? Mimi -

Good luck and it is wonderful you have restriction so early in the process!!!!! Mimi -
This is a disturbing thread, I don't know where I was when these statistics were published. They scare me, I can't imagine living without my band and I don't think my insurance would cover a replacement surgery. YIKES!!!! Mimi

Merry Merry Christmas to all. Keep posting, everyone!! Mimi

I hope you are at your sweet spot, Elfie. I still am not there after 14 months!!!! Too much or not enough is my lot!!!! Best wishes, Mimi
