Stupid question: after tummy tuck?
Mimilou2004 replied to sweetie78's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I have the same concerns that you do. My TT is March 15 and my port is on my rt rib cage above my waist and sticks out a little now. I have a lot of scar tissue, too. My PS doesn't do anything with the port....I will have to have more surgery later to change to a low profile if what I have sticks out after my TT. Good luck, Mimi -
Scale Not Moving! Any Suggestions?
Mimilou2004 replied to gatorgal's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ggal, it sounds like you are doing everything right. There are many opions about why the body plateaus and sometimes we just don't know why. The most common advice is to change your food intake up or down and to change what exercise you are doing just to "shake up" the staus quo. The last few times I hit a standstill and went back over my journal I found that I had gradually increased my portion size and added caloric beverages. Even 100-200 cals extra a day are enough to cause the wt loss to stop. Good luck and let us know how you are doing. Mimi -
Questions for People who have had Plastic Surgery
Mimilou2004 replied to AlienBandit's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Your doctor is too optimistic, in my opinion, after over a year of following all the PS threads and reading the recovery process of many ppl. I just had my arms and breasts done at the same time and could not put my compression garments on myself and could not reach for things for several days. I could not have driven myself to the first post op appt. I am having a TT in 7 weeks and the same friend is going to help me...I, too have dogs and know I will not be able to take care of them for a few days. There will be many things I cannot do for a while. I took 3 wks off for the arms and breasts and really could have used more time. I will take 4 weeks off for the TT and hope that is enough. Please go back to the thread category and read Shalee04, AllieMorris, SkinnyJeans, KateEryn, and others' whole threads to get a better idea of what ppl go through. I wish you much luck and hope you can get your PS. Mimi -

FUllbar question
Mimilou2004 replied to princessaktmc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, take them to work for all the ppl to try who had been wondering if they work....that would be a nice thing to do!!!! Even though you don't have any restriction now, no sense risking the bar swelling and creating problems. Mimi -
It is probably OK to start, but to be on the safe side call your doc's office Monday. Aren't you do for a fill or check up appt? Mimi

2 month check-up and weight loss

Congratulation, good going!!! Mimi -
How do you know??
Mimilou2004 replied to dragonflylover's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also believe you need a fill. With proper restriction I don't think you could eat all those bread products. Are you do for a fill again soon? I didn't start to feel restriction until 5.5 cc, until then I could (and did!!!) eat anything. Best of luck, Mimi -
A little frustrated with myself...
Mimilou2004 replied to kristik99's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
ElfiePoo is right on target. I was appalled at how your doctor treated you, what he said to you. Horses' patootie!!!! Mimi -
It's Allie's turn for plastics!
Mimilou2004 replied to allielee's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Gee whiz, Allie, you sure had a crummy day....can't your doc change you to Lortab or Tylenol #3? Being in pain or discomfort can set your healing back. I hope you have a better day today, I will be sending good thoughts your way. Mimi -
Barbee, I am so happy you are doing so well. Can't wait to see pictures. Mimi

Yet another question on restriction (sorry, guys!)
Mimilou2004 replied to juliansmom2003's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Very few ppl get restriction from their first fill. I would schedule another one as soon as your doc will allow it. Best wishes, Mimi -
Good Luck Barbee, I will be praying for you!!! Mimi

To Fill or not to Fill
Mimilou2004 replied to selswick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck with your decision, talk it through with your fill person. Better to be a little under than over filled....that is miserable. I am at 6cc in the same band and can only eat a little bit of hard protein at a time. Of course slider food goes down easy all the time, LOL!!!! Mimi -

Has anyone had a panni and breast reduction at the same time?
Mimilou2004 replied to marieze's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Marieze, I hust had my breasts reduced and put back where they belong and my upper arms reduced. I will have my Tummy Tuck (TT) in March. I can't imagine the pain/discomfort of having all done at once, but maybe it is my arm reduction that is giving me the most trouble and not my chest. I had a wonderful healper. If you have a great helper and good pain meds you can do it. It does save a lot of money to have them done at the same time. Many ppl have even more work done at one time and do fine. Best wishes. Fanny Moves to Phase Two
Mimilou2004 replied to Fanny Adams's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Fannie, you are a hoot!!! I am sorry for your setbacks, I hope you heal quickly and in the manner you want. I am glad you posted about your breasts not being as perky, so I know to expect that. Did you get saline or silicone implants? I am glad you are able to go back to work. Mimi -
Kate's "The Works" special
Mimilou2004 replied to general_antiope's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Kate, I am glad your interventions have helped you feel better and sleep better. All I had done was my arms and bewbs and it knocked me on my butt, a LBL would really have taken me over the top. You are a brave woman. My breasts have lost some of their initial perkiness but I still love them and am glad I had it done. My armpits have separated some and will take longer to heal. I hope I can go back to work next week. I so thank you for sharing your ups and downs as it makes me know I am experiencing some normal things and makes me not worry as much. Take care, sweetie, and keep healing. Mimi
