  1. Thanks, Sue. I did make my de-fill appt for 3/11 and will get about .25ml taken out. I just hope I get the PA who is sweet and ACCURATE!!!!! If I have too much taken out I will gain wt and none of my clothes will fit!!!! Mimi
  2. This is such a sensitive subject. Especially when it is family and loved ones who change on you and seem to resent your weight loss and say things to belittle you and make you doubt yourself. Mimi

    Re: "Inverted T" abdominoplasty

Love it love it love it, LOL!!!! So happy you are not in a ditch with Kenya worrying you with her nose. Nice to hear about old Rough Jack. I didn't realize your family was so large. I have 3 dogs and am worried about my stitches after my Tummy Tuck in 3 weeks. Dogs LOVE to walk on me in the bed and jump on my lap in the living room!!! Glad to hear you survived your lapful of canine!!! 5 mile walk for milk blows my mind, and in the snow, yet, you are my hero!!!!! About time for some pictures, isn't it? Mimi

    Re: "Inverted T" abdominoplasty

Thanks for the update, Ohm. As usual your descriptive writing style increases my enjoyment of reading your posts. Mimi
  5. I wonder if the doctor left a fill in your band? Of course it could be just post op swelling. Try not to drink within an hour of lying down. Best wishes, Mimi

Losing too much weight prior to surgery???

You do run the risk of losing too much wt to continue to qualify so it would be good to find out exactly what your insurance requirements are. Good luck, Mimi

    do u?

I tried to drink one (it is allowed after being banded a year, go figure!) and the gas pain and pressure were unbearable. I couldn't burp properly and it was a miserable experience. Pre-band I drank 6-8 cans of Diet Coke a day. Good luck. Mimi

    Reglan

Be careful with Reglan, there are class action Lawsuits from side effects being talked about on TV commercials from lawyers. That being said, Reglan does more than fight nausea, it promotes the more rapid movement of stomach contents/food through the digestive system. Mimi

Dirty lil secret or business as usual??

I wanted to switch out of my practice but the only other lap band surgeon in town charged a $500 program fee and that was too much. Unless you need this $4000 sham, go with the other one if he is reputable and well experienced. $4000 is ridiculous. Best wishes, Mimi

    Newly banded

Congratulations, Sandman, and best wishes. You are blessed to have an experienced mate who will be supportive. Mimi
  11. Elcee, I wanted to say that but you did it so much better....I couldn't figure out how to say it without coming across as disrespectful. You did it well. Mimi

    Anti Depresants

I am sure it is safe, and as a bonus it is small!!!! I take 2 EffexorXR capsules and frequently PB them if I don't time it right. I was thinking about asking to change to Lexapro which is also small. I will be on meds forever but don't feel like fighting it forever. Best wishes, Mimi

    Post-PS weight?

Well, OHM, you were truly "FULL OF SH*T!!!!!!" LOL!!! Those pain pills and decreased activity will interupt the flow of nature!!!! I recommend prune/plum juice daily!!!! 7 pounds...I bow my head in respect, hehehehehehe, truly noteworthy!!!!! Mimi

    Glued Incisions-Removing Glue

It will start drying and curling up at the edges in a very few days and you will be able to peal it off. Until that happens it is recommended that it be left in place. Mimi
  15. I think your experience is pretty typical. No warm fuzzies from Surgeons. I never heard from my practice unless I initiated the contact. I agree that somewhere there should have been instructions for a post op visit. Mimi

    Re: "Inverted T" abdominoplasty

OMG, that is horrible, I am glad you were not hurt badly, you could have cracked your skull or broken some bones. I will keep my friend nearby during showers for the first few times after my TT. Take it easy!!! Mimi

    3rd fill

Wow, what an event!!!! I am glad you were able to be seen fairly quickly and all is well. I have been overfilled and it is no picnic, for sure!!!! Best wishes, Mimi

    BarbBee's LBL Jan 18th

Barb, I am delighted you are doing so well and heading back to work. Could you tell me more about the silicone tape......do you buy it or does the doc supply it? Do you take it off for bathing and put it back on? Does it stay on when you are dressed and moving around? Thanks in advance. Can't wait to see the new pictures. Best wishes, Mimi

Karey, you have had a rough time with this whole thing. I am glad it is over. What are your plans now? Best wishes, Mimi

    Re: "Inverted T" abdominoplasty

I am sorry that Kenya lost her family but lucky her that you were willing to adopt her. I am glad she is a tribute to the origins of her breed than she is to the inbred nightmares that have caused so much trouble. There is a special place in heaven for ppl who rescue animals, I do believe. Mimi

    Re: "Inverted T" abdominoplasty

I loved your pictures!!! You have a great waist and a lovely dog, Kenya!!!! Is she a rescue? Your midline incision is healing so nicely it looks like your scarring will be minimal. Your other incision is healing wonderfully, too. You are inspirational!!! I hope I do as good. Mimi

    Post-PS weight?

WOW, Ohm, is all I can say!!!! Mimi

    port location

It should be right under your longest incision when you are lying down. Mimi

    Opinions Needed Please

There is no reason to fear, just make sure that your band isn't pre-filled at the time of surgery. Other than that you will be able to eat anything and do anything. Of course, check with your doctor to be absolutely sure that he has no words of wisdom for you. Have fun, Mimi
  25. Great idea!!!!! Heck, save your $$ and buy them ALL!!!! You deserve it!!! Mimi
