  1. No, you are not alone!!!! If I weigh myself and it hasn't gone down I am really upset, like you. It is close to an obsession. I comfort myself with the thought that I can skip a weigh in here and there!!!! Mimi

    Made it!!!

Congratulations, Tam. You are amazing!!!! Mimi
  3. At the risk of getting trounced by other posters, I wonder if you are a little too filled. Maybe if you could eat a vegetable with the protein you would stay full longer? Seems like 2 hours from 1/2 a chicken breast is a good amount of time, really, because it is not that much food. I will be interested to see what other ppl post. Mimi

How do y'all do with green beans?

I do better with french cut green beans, now that I am very tight. When I was not so tight I could do regular cut green beans. You may still have some swelling in addition to your restriction. Keep track of your sticks and PBs and if they are distressing you there is nothing wrong with going back for a small unfill. Mimi

    Getting back to losing..

Sounds like a small fill and journaling your food and exercise might help. The good news is that as long as we have an intact band system we have the potential to lose weight. Best wishes, Mimi
  6. Thanks, Wanna. I hope you post about your jourey, too!!! Mimi

LOL, rest well and sleep tight. Tomorrow is another day. Mimi

Restriction - Do I have it?

I think it means that you have good restriction. It might ease off a little then you will know you need a fill, but for now you are doing great!!!! Congratulations, Mimi

    Re: "Inverted T" abdominoplasty

Well, duh!!!!!!! 5 miles and the dogs jumping onto your lap probably took its toll. Let us know how you do. Mimi

    Woke up...vomiting?

I think Gloria hit the nail on the head....you probably had food in your pouch when you laid down and it refluxed up and caused your symptoms. Don't eat or drink within a couple of hours of bedtime. Best wishes, Mimi
  11. WOW, that is crazy....I would do everything the other posters said. Your doc is not acting in accordance with the standards of care....please let us know how it goes!!!! Mimi

Lost Band Doc Forgot to Remove Port

Karey, it sounds like you have coped quite well and are doing superbly and I give you much honor for doing well and continuing to lose wt!!!!! Mimi
  13. LOL!!!!! If a little bit works, maybe a lot works better? Mimi
  14. I am trying to do maintenance, but don't have a grip on how to manage it, so in reality I gain 2 lose 2, gain 3 lose 3. I am letting my scales guide my food choices. I never thought I would be an 8, let alone a 12. I thought maybe a 16!!!!! It has been wild for the last 15 months with many ups and downs. Ppl keep telling me how tiny I am yet I don't feel it. For my height (5')I really should lose another 10-15 pounds, but I don't think I could ever maintain the calorie count that low. I am thinking if my TT turns out well I will be happy at 130, approximately where I am now. I am not exercising like crazy or calorie restricting too strictly so I am hopeful I can maintain 127-132 range. LOL, gives me a chance for a chocolate binge every couple of weeks!!!! You have done so well coming down from 284, congratulations!!!!!! Mimi

    Very, very bad day

That is why this period is called "Badster Hell". I hope you gain a little comfort from knowing you are not alone. When you arrive at restriction (and that will be very soon, just 2.5 wks!!!!) you will fondly remember this day of pizza and cupcakes. I wish I had had pizza the last time I had an unfill because I am craving it mightily and just can't eat it. Have your pity party but know that restriction is coming. Best wishes, Mimi

    Tricare, Triwest???

Clayverde....I like your PS's attitude. I am sorry I didn't have the TT first because I think it would have affected how he did my breasts, but it is a done deal. Best wishes, Mimi

    Re: "Inverted T" abdominoplasty

Hahahahaha, yes work is a 4 letter word. I just left a request with my boss to come back on a Friday instead of a manic Monday, just in case I don't do as well as you. This would make for 4.5wks off. I am not a slug and will be building my energy but like every job, I have to hit the floor moving fast giving it my all when I do go back. Kenya stew? I don't think so.....too gamey, LOL!!!! Good luck finding the right laces for your running shows!!! Mimi
  18. Thanks, Ellen. Your doctor's theory sounds plausible. Are you still losing or are you in maintenace? Mimi

    It's starting to feel real!

Congratulations, Mel Mel. You are taking a big step to achieving better health. Mimi
  20. Allie, thanks for responding. Mederma is $18 at Walmart for 0.7 ounce. I admit I am a bit generous with it but a tube of cream only lasts about 8 days for both arms and both boobies 3 times a day. Now that I know you are happy with it I will keep using it....ultimately the cost of the Mederma is less than a drop in the bucket compared to what the surgeries cost!!!! Mimi

    4TH FILL! feeling discomfort!!!!

As long as you can drink clear liquids freely I would give yourself a couple of days to see if the restriction is caused by temporary swelling. If at any time you can't drink liquids call your doc as soon as possible. I am way too tight and any little stuck episode or PB causes immediate swelling and barfing. You don't want to live like that and I have an appt for a small unfill. Best wishes, Mimi

    Ab Equipment....

I hate to tell on myself, but there is a product called the abdolly that actually works if you use it, which I haven't lately. It is $100. www.abdolly.com I need to start using it again because it helped the arms and the midriff too. Mimi
  23. Thanks for the update, Allie. I can't wait til I hear about your party. Please tell us what you rubbed your scars with. I am using mederma even though there is no real scientific evidence and it is so darn expensive. Mimi

    Getting a Fill Finally!!! YAY!

Gayle, thank you for your story. I ride the edge of being totally closed off because I am afraid my doc will take too much fill if I go in and tell them how much I am really barfing and in trouble....my fears are not groundless, I have been ill treated in the past. I wish you luck on restarting your journey and congratulations on the solid 35 pound loss. Mimi

    Anti Depresants

I take the 150 and 75 because that is how it is dispensed. I have a great insurance plan with no co-pay so I have no choice....I'd rather have 3 of the 75mg. I opened one the other day and put it on yogurt and I swear I am STILL spitting out crunchy little balls!!!!! I didn't have any problems until I was up to 5cc/ml fill and am so tight now it is a chore to take the meds. Nice to chat with you about it. Mimi
