    $300 for 1st Appt

Something isn't right....it almost sounds like they are charging you a program fee....which insurance will NOT cover. Is there another bariatric surgeon you could consult with? Mimi

    Headed for surgery tomorrow...

Best wishes for an easy solution. I will hope and pray that the problem is just the port and that they can leave your band alone!!!! Mimi

    Re: "Inverted T" abdominoplasty

Becci, except for Kenya making you crazy, you sound like you are doing really well!!!! I can just picture you jumping up and down then having a moment of "OMG-what have I done!!" This is a strange question, but will you ever have to do sit ups again in your life or did the stitches fix that forever? LOL, shoes and handbag!!!!! Mimi

    Question about my fill toaday......?

I recommend liquids or something light like soup. You don't want anything in your pouch when pressure is increased. Much better to have an empty pouch. Good luck, tell us how it goes. Mimi
  5. Allie, you look spectacular!!!! I reviewed your whole journey and it has been an amazing trip. You rock, girl!!!! Mimi
  6. Froggie, one of the things I didn't mention was exercise. Our metabolism's are shot so exercise is important. Start looking for a personal trainer that fits your personality....it will be money well spent. I have never had a plateau during my wt loss journey and I think it is because my personal trainer kept challenging me and changing things. Best wishes, Mimi

    complete loss of appetite

Gosh, lellow, I don't like the sounds of this at all. I hope you get to the bottom of it soon before you are stick thin!!!!! Please keep posting. Mimi
  8. Jacksdad, I think you have found your sweet spot. You are doing really well!!! Best wishes, Mimi

Does everyone have to pay for a unfill?

I am sorry you had such a rotten experience. At my practice if a person needs an unfill because of vomiting within a week there is no charge, after that there is a $500 office visit fee the same as if a fill was given. What a racket!!!!! Because of that I have put off getting an unfill. I will go in for a small unfill right before my TT in 2 weeks. Of course that will be $500 and when I get it put back a couple weeks later it will be another $500!!!! Crazy, huh? Mimi

Welcome to the "At or near goal forum"

Elcee, congratulations, you have done so well and your BMI is so low!!!! Mimi
  11. I was 57 when I was banded and have no regrets. My BP is down, my joint pain is better, my cholesterol is down....all markers of the better health I was seeking. As a bonus, co-workers are teasing me about how "tiny" I am. ME-TINY!!!!!! Amazing. Because of the band I weigh less now than I did in 1970 when I joined the Army for my 20 year career!! Best wishes, Mimi

    Fun while shopping...

Great NSV, I can hear you smiling all the way in SC!!!!! Mimi
  13. I have never read any post saying they could only have water to drink....pretty severe!!!! Good luck. Mimi
  14. Tracy, hang in there, you have done wonderfully and a small deviation will not ruin you for life. We all probably go through these periods and you will come out the other side. Taking it into the fresh air at 3 pounds is so much better than to wait for 30 to creep up before asking for help. I hope your fill will help but you are a strong woman to have stopped smoking and began this journey at the same time. You will pull out of it, keep posting. Mimi

    Re: "Inverted T" abdominoplasty

Becci, I will miss your posts. Have fun with family and I hope those little spots clear up quickly. Keep Kenya and Rough Jack off your tummy!!!!!! Mimi
  16. Do I think it can be done? Yes. Do I think it is a good idea? NO!!!! As Sawyer said, there will always be a reason to loosen your band, it is a slippery slope to start on. Others have done it and posted here that they were sorry they did it because of the mind games it started. Part of the band experience is learning that our lives are about more than food and eating and to focus our thoughts elsewhere. I do wish you a bon voyage. Let us know what you decided to do and how much you enjoyed the cruise. Mimi

    Kate's "The Works" special

Hi, Kate, so good to hear from you. Sorry about the continued unemployment, that sucks. My figure is going to be like yours, I can already tell....I call it rectangular, LOL. I am glad you are doing good and getting your strength back!!!! I sure would like to see some updated arm pictures!!!! Mimi

    Blender vs Immersion Blender

I agree with the other Posters. I love my immersion blender but it is no good for ice crushing. Mimi

    Re: "Inverted T" abdominoplasty

You look marvelous and the upper scar is almosr invisible now!!!! Ms Serra did a great job. I am glad Tobin didn't get you or anyone in your family. Thanks for posting the picture!!!! Your check up was fine? Mimi
  20. Man, that sucks!!!!!! I hope you get a different anesthetist next time and a clean bill of health from the ENT. Mimi

    Port Size

Are you on the small side? That may be why the doc chose the small. Most docs choose the regular size because most of us have a thick fat pad over the belly/ribs and they want to make sure they can access the port center. I have lost most of my wt and will have a port revision to the smaller port so it doesn't stick out the way the bigger one does. Best wishes. Mimi
  23. Wow. that really sucks!!! I hope he can access your port next time. Bummer!! Mimi
  24. Congratulations!!!! Glad your day perked up!! Mimi
