Breast Reduction - Interesting experience Surgeon #1 vs #2
Mimilou2004 replied to SpecialK's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Wow, SK, that is some different experiences. The contrasts are remarkable. That music, alone, would have been enough to have me run screaming from the office. I was most impressed with Doc #1 asking for mammo-I was surprised that mine never did. I had one on my own a month before the surgery. Thanks for posting your experiences. Mimi -
Yay, Wanna!!!!! 9 days and counting for me!!!!! I hope they answer all your questions ahead of time!!!! It is part of the fun of planning!!! They didn't give me an extra vest.....I switched to a sports bra while I washed the one I came home in. Mimi

dietician advice 'no shakes'????
Mimilou2004 replied to lavender714's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree it is a lot of food and I don't know how ppl do it with good restriction. I have at least 2 shakes a day, too, but have to watch the calorie content because I like Adkins shakes. Mimi -
Does everyone have to pay for a unfill?

OMG, what a story!!! I am glad you have no side effects from the run and could actually do it without thinking!!! Kenya Chowder, indeed. Every time I go out my doors it is a challenge to keep the 3 I have inside. They really love to escape, no idea of the consequences of getting hit by a car, etc!!!! Thanks for the updated pictures. You are really looking good!!!! Those little bits will heal in no time. You have a nice hourglass figure!!! Mimi -
Sue, the compression vest hooked up the front then zipped over the hooks. It had velcro shoulder straps and was a bit like a long line bra with no cups. I think I am describing a straight jacket, LOL!!!!! Mimi

BD, yours is the first post I have read where a band and Bypass were involved. I hope you post often and keep us informed about your journey. Good luck, Mimi -
Anyone have face treatment for wrinkles/sun damage?
Mimilou2004 replied to Humming Bird's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I had lazer treatments, $6000 worth during my wt loss journey. I do believe it helped tighten up my face and neck and diminished some scarring and wrinkles. I just looked like I was in the sun too long, I never had any bad side effects. There are different levels of chemical peel and that may be what you are looking for. I would have a consult with a couple of dermatologists, explain the results you want and see what they recommend. Laser is very expensive and you need 2-4 treatments over a several month period. It did not give me the spectacular results I was hoping for, but then again I think I had unrealistic expectations. Best wishes, Mimi -
Why do sweets go down so easy?
Mimilou2004 replied to 2bhealthyn40s's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL, they do slide right on down, don't they? My theory is that they are easily liquified and go right through the pouch opening. Mimi -
I am glad you got diagnosed and there is a fix. You will be more comfortable when it is taken care of. Congratulations on your wt loss. Mimi

The Guilt of Being a Slow Loser

Monica...go get a fill, the heck with his statistics. Why should you struggle to lose 15 pounds when a fill would help. Please think about it. Mimi -

There is no other practice near you? That stinks, having to wait. Mimi -
Wanna, you have legitimate questions and your PS office should be able to answer them exactly. I am pretty sure no underwire will be recommended for quite a while. I wore the compression vest they put me in for 2 weeks then went to Walmart for the Front hooking sports bras, and made them very snug. You will be surprised how high and round you will be for the first few weeks. Some PS want you to wear a bra 24/7 so check on that, too. I am so happy for you. I had the lift 1/4/10 without implants. Sometimes I wish I got them but most of the time I am OK w/o them. I am happy to not be a 34 long anymore!!!!! Mimi

BTRIEGER how did your surgery go?
Mimilou2004 replied to delfinajones's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome to Bandland!!!!!! Congratulations!! Mimi -
I, too, thought it was a good episode. I was happy the girls pulled it off. Now, I think Lance should have been voted off, he is a lazy slug and Miggy was pulling percentages. I hope Lance gets gone next week. The girls are going to have to keep working very hard. I thought it was cute that the one guy on the girls' team let himself get a manicure to bond with the girls. Liftingchic, I hope you saw it before my spoiler comments!!!! Mimi

What a story...I love happy stories. As you say every marriage has to be worked with and on!!!!! Mimi -
It is possible, but to have such strong stomach contractions that it forces lower contents into the upper pouch is very bad. Many ppl have prescription pills on hand to prevent such strong wretching...Phenergan or Zofran are typical. I hope you don't catch it!!! Best wishes, Mimi

It will probably record OK, if not you can watch it online in a few days!! Mimi

LOL, yep, I checked the DVR and it is all set to record!!! Mimi

Gosh that would be wonderful if hubby would walk Kenya!!! No offence taken, I am single and looking, albeit not too hard, LOL!!!! My co-workers keep asking me what "his" name is or whether or not I have found a man, it is quite funny because to their way of thinking I couldn't possibly be doing this whole journey just for myself!!!! Nepal, huh? I sense a story there!!!! Mimi -
