Band tightening 3 mo. after fill??
Mimilou2004 replied to Camping7768's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, mine tightened a week after my fill and surprised the heck out of me because I thought I had a leak. I have read on here that stress can make your stomach swell, so maybe the stress of upcoming surgery made it swell. Good luck on Thursday. Mimi -
Quick band question to those who have had their PS already
Mimilou2004 replied to Mom2_4's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I had my arms and boobies done in January and my TT done in March. I had no swelling issues in January but had to go for a small unfill in March (.3cc) because of swelling. I also gained 10 pounds and am going today to try and get my fill back. I was shutting down completely, though or I wouldn't have gone for an unfill. Best wishes and congratulations. Could you post pictures and keep adding to your post as your journey continues? Send me a friend request and you can access my PS album. Mimi -
It was at least 2 weeks that I used a button up flannel shirt. 6 wks for arm compression garment is a long time. By then I had almost forgotten I had surgery!!! My mud flaps weren't because of surgery...if you don't have them now there is no reason to have them post op. Mimi
-
I was left with those mud flaps under my arms at the sdes of my breasts and I hate them, they really upset me. 58 year old skin does not have the elasticity of younger skin and if he cut off the flaps I wouldn't be able to raise my arms!!!! They bulge over my bra and get in the way of my arms moving!!!! Mimi

It was about 3 weeks, Sue. I had to wear the compression garment for 2.5 wks, if I remember correctly. Mimi

Special, I downsized, too, and didn't get implants. I am a 34C (barely!!) and love being small. They used to get in the way and laid on my belly when I sat down....not a pretty sight. I didn't really have much limits specified, just to take it easy for a few weeks. My stronger limits were because I had my arms trimmed down and they took a while to heal to the point of not worrying that the incision would separate. Mimi

Well, Megs, you sure do put everything into doing a job!!! I am glad you have a great doctor and everything went well. May I ask where the port is? I am going to get mine moved and replaced with a low profile, but don't know where to put it. Mimi
-
I do wish you luck!!! I hope you enjoy the boot camp style and it will surely burn lots of calories!!!! Mimi

I don't think you can make a mistake in choosing which band, they are very similar in how they work and I haven't read any posts here that sway me either way. I had to make the same decision as you and I just picked arbitrarily. Some ppl (like me) lay down scar tissue and the flatter port may help. Mine sticks out like a golf ball and I am going to have it moved and changed to a smaller port. Good luck in your decision making. Mimi

YAY, Whillow!!!! Keep up the good work, you are almost halfway to goal!! Mimi

So there go my undies...NSV (and my first fill appointment)
Mimilou2004 replied to tiffanyannette's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are doing so well, congratulations!!!! I loved your story and indeed, what a NSV it is!!!! Mimi -
I was just wincing in pain, too, from port pain, only thing is I wasn't slinging around big bags like you....I haven't a clue how I pulled that muscle. Please let us know what the doctor said. Mimi

Wannabthinagain's journey
Mimilou2004 replied to wannabthinagain's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
It was great to read your post...I am thrilled with how well you are doing and am jealous about your tight muscles. My PS didn't do that because my port was in the way and he wouldn't touch it. Rest up and I will look forward to more posts as you heal. Mimi -
Thanks for the follow up. Mimi

How long do you wait to take a progress pic?
Mimilou2004 replied to outside*looking*in's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think the more often the better. I go back and look at them frequently to keep myself motivated. Interestingly, now that I am at goal it is even MORE important for me to look at pictures so I know that I really have accomplished something and don't want to go back to where I was. Sometimes pictures tell a story that a mirror doesn't!!!! Mimi -
Good luck, Whillow. The search for our individual "sweet spot" can be long and difficult. Mimi

Thanks for the update, hubby!!!!! I have been wondering all day how she is doing. Give her my best wishes. Mimi -
If you could move your port would you?
Mimilou2004 replied to mominkansas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hate where my port is...right midriff. Looks like a golf ball or alien trying to break through!!!!! When I am sure I am doing well maintaining I am going to have it moved and replaced with a smaller port. Mimi -

Wanna, I will be thinking of you all day. Best wishes!!! Mimi -
I agree with Tchr, a week is long enough for fill swell to diminish. Please see your doctor. Mimi

Bands can be fickle and none one can explain the reason why. I have read many posts saying the same thing you have said and it happens to me that way, too. Best wishes, Mimi

Medial (inner) thigh lift -- are you happy you did it?
Mimilou2004 replied to Frangipani's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I am so sorry for your suffering. 2 wks ago I asked my PS to do this surgery and he said no, he won't do them because of the complications. I would like to have my inner thighs jiggle joggle gone but do not want to suffer. Best wishes, Mimi -
It is rare to get good restriction from the first fill. Also, some ppl don't feel their fill for a few days. You are allowed to be hungry!!!!!! The band is not meant to make you totally not want to eat. Best wishes, Mimi

Why Do I get so Scared before Each Fill?
Mimilou2004 replied to GhostDog's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
NO, GD, you are not weird. I have all kinds of fears before a fill. Will they be nice to me, will they put the right amount in, will they give me any, will I have to see the doc (I hate him), will I be too tight, will I shut down, etc, etc, etc!!!!! Mimi -
AND I would be seeking a lawyer for patient abandonment!!!!! Mimi
