    Excited!! :-))

Welcome, Katherine. I wish you lots of luck on your journey. Mimi
  2. I stay as far from my doc as I can, LOL, he is NOT my favorite person. Sadly, my favorite PA left the practice and I don't know what I am going to do next. I need/want my port moved and converted to the smaller one so I am going to have to interface with him at some point. If your symptoms go away with a complete unfill that will tell a story. I will hope and pray that you don't gain wt during the unfill. I think the bodybugg is a wonderful idea. I wish there was a place they could be rented for a few weeks! Thank goodness I have stopped refluxing most of the time. I still have the intense burning in what feels like my "big" stomach and any barfing shuts my band down for 24 hours or more. Keep posting, please. Mimi
  3. Suzanne, I feel for you and wish I had some words of wisdom. I am glad and sad that your GB is OK, it being bad sure would have explained a lot!!!! I think it is OK to try Zoloft, as far as it is a fairly safe drug. I have not had the nausea, just the burning and fills and unfills. I am on 40mg of Nexium and can't tell any improvement. I hope you feel better soon and I thing Reglan is a dangerous drug and should only be used as a last resort. Mimi

    Dr Refusal

What the heck is an Aftercare fee? That is a new one on me and another robbery....isn't there another LB doc you can turn to? Mimi

    Frustrated as hell

Sorry for your frustration, Shelley. That $1000 admin fee is Highway robbery. Isn't there another LB surgeon near you that doesn't have that ridiculous fee or at least one not so high? Mimi

    Skin

I, too, have experienced settling since I got to goal. I am pretty sure the remaining fat redistributes itself over time and that is why many plastic surgeons want ppl to wait a few months after reaching goal. Good luck, Mimi

    Sweet Spot?

Congratulations, Mindi!!!! I am happy for your loss and arrival at your sweet spot. Not to rain on your parade, but you may need tiny tiny fills in the future as the band loosens because you have lost fat under it around your stomach. Best wishes, Mimi
  10. LOL, you feel what you feel!!! I have had those feelings occassionally and it is strange. I think you are at a good fill and will lose lots of wt....congratulations!!!!! Mimi
  11. Suzanne, make sure you post about your GB!!!! Mimi

    Will I need more fills?

Mom, you have a sensitive and reactive stomach like I do. Your swelling will go down and as you lose wt the fat around your stomach under the band will melt and the band will get looser, less restrictive. I have been going through something similar and since I can get fluids dow I decided to ride the wave and lose as much as possible for now. Beware of switching to slider foods, though. Please keep posting about how you are doing. Mimi

New to forum, not to banding.

Welcome, Alexandra. You have done well and I wish you continued success!!! Mimi
  14. Leigha, don't forget about the "after" burn effect. Muscles are still actively burning calories for a few hours after strenuous exercise. Are you still losing? PS, I enjoy your posts. Mimi

What size Band do U have?

I, too, think it strage that he used the 14cc for you. My docs reserve that size for tall ppl, and you do NOT qualify!!! I do wish you a speedy arrival at restriction. Mimi

    FINALLY....I did it...whoo!!!

    Congratulations, Majj!!!!!! Mimi
  17. I think it is possible, but your practice has the final say. Have you called and asked to have it moved to this week? Mimi
  18. WOW, you sure have been through a lot!!!! I hope you have a speedy recovery and that your car does, too!!!! Mimi
  19. I personally do not think it should be covered by the VA. They are overworked and underfunded for basic care as it is. This is only a personal opinion, not a slam against the poster for trying to get a lapband. I think if it is paid for at some VAMC's it should be covered at all of them, and I wish you luck. Mimi

Replacing your port for a flatter one?

I, too, would like more information because mine protrudes like an alien or golf ball from my right midriff. I grew a lot of scar tissue around it so I don't know where to move it to in case the new smaller one grows a lot of scar tissue, too. Mimi

    do you chew gum?

Supposedly if you swallow it, it can block your pouch. That being said, I chew gum almost nonstop, it is my new favorite vice, LOL!!!! Mimi
  22. Thanks, Rose, I am determined to remember that conversion. I wish you much success. Mimi

    starting to get nervous

How are you doing today, Whillow? Please post your status!!!! Mimi

    maintanance question

I am at goal but never found my sweet spot due to fills and unfills for one reason or another. I just may have found it this time, though. My goal is to be filled enough to maintain my wt without struggling and not be hungry. I still journal (on paper!) my food and drink and exercise so if the scales move more than 2 pounds either direction I can read my log and figure things out. Best wishes. Mimi
