Elcee and Jalomom have both written excellent posts....I am tired of reading the silly sugary posts patting the poster on the back and saying poor baby. We must get real and firm to give the best REAL support to those in need, like this thread starter obviously is. Mimi

Successfull weight loss but struggling
Mimilou2004 replied to eslmn1's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sweetie, you are overfilled and need a little unfill, even though you think you can lose wt too tight, it is a struggle to keep the food down that helps keep you full. I know of what I speak as I am in the same position and am going in as soon as I can get an appt. Best wishes, Mimi -
Quest for the Ever-Elusive Flat Stomach
Mimilou2004 replied to Allison925's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Allison, tell us more about your relocation....I look like I have an alien about to pop out!!!! Did you switch to a low profile? How does it feel? Thanks for any info you can share!!! Mimi -
Excellent question....I would think it would go away, mine did. Mimi

BMI is 39- not a candidate for lap band
Mimilou2004 replied to yemaya's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't fault you for gaining to make the mark, just make sure you have the required co-morbidity before putting on the wt. Best wishes, Mimi -
Can you feel the food pass through ??
Mimilou2004 replied to Whillow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I, too, sometimes feel it go through into my big stomach, and after reading the other posts, I realized that it is more often after I have been stuck! Strange!! Mimi -
I hope you don't have erosion, I will keep thinking good thoughts for you. I always gain that fast when I am unfilled, so I feel your pain. It is all about the ability to eat more and doing so. Loss of restriction is a bummer. Best wishes, Mimi

Cautionary tale: Don't live with an overfill!
Mimilou2004 replied to eve529's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thank you. Mimi -
Lisa, thank you for posting your experience. I am at a similar place with the reflux and stomach burning, PBing, etc. I have an appt soon and hope for just a small unfill. Best wishes. Mimi

Changing Bariatric Practice POST Surgery?
Mimilou2004 replied to RavenClaw779's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I considered changing practices but in the end chickened out. It doesn't sound like you are getting the support you need and deserve. Is the other practice really any better? If it is and they will meet your needs, I think you would be justified in changing over. Let us know what you decide. Mimi -
Gallbladder Question
Mimilou2004 replied to eadreel's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can post whatever you want and I can answer any post I want, doesn't matter what you want. I have never called anyone stupid but if that is what you think about yourself, then who am I to contradict you? Mimi Mimi -
Gallbladder Question

Then why bother asking for advice? Your mind was and is already made up. Mimi -
Gallbladder Question
Mimilou2004 replied to eadreel's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
EAdreal, once again you have medical misinformation. You do NOT have a good chance of your GB problems going away. Are you going to listen to anyone who has answered you? Mimi -
Congratulations!!!! I almost got a chin implant when I got my boobs and arms done, but chickened out at the last minute. I am having an under eye lift next week and had the upper eyes done when I started this journey. You are worth every penny!!!! Mimi

Can I get a quick response please?
Mimilou2004 replied to sdpressl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree that if you can tolerate liquids you have time to see if it is band fill stomach swelling or over restriction. Don't try to be a hero if you are barfing your liquids or just can't drink them. You may need to stay on liquids a couple of days. Mimi -
Pixie, I am glad the source of your problem was found and taken care of and that your band is fine. Mimi

Congratulations on your recovery and restarting your band journey. You inspire me. Mimi

Oh these bat wings!!!
Mimilou2004 replied to sweetbean70's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
And ppl who are not in our position don't understand our need to get rid of the hanging stuff. Several of my friends are concerned about my PS plans and being "addicted" but they aren't living with the empty sack syndrome. Armpit surgery for batwings is only available for select situations....if you are hanging the whole length of the upper arm it isn't as likely to be able to get that procedure. www.makemeheal.com has several before and after arm pictures and many many many of boobs, TT, etc. Mimi -
Fills and Pills
Mimilou2004 replied to StormRoyale's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Doesn't your PCP know you are banded? I am very restricted and have to cut pills up really small and open my capsules. Mimi -
Oh these bat wings!!!
Mimilou2004 replied to sweetbean70's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had it done in January. I wasn't quite at my lowest wt, altho I was close to goal. Insurance would not pay. My scars are still reddish......they take awhile to fade, maybe a year. Even with the scars I am not sorry I had it done. I had the same problems as you with the needing bigger blouses and jackets, etc. Save up your $$$ and go for it!!!! Mimi -
Wonderful NSV (Non Scale Victory)....very rewarding. Mimi

2nd fill = good restriction = weight gain
Mimilou2004 replied to IAmJacksLapBand's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was thinking he may be a little too tight and has already reverted to slider food. Something to think about. I am too tight and waiting for an unfill. I can only eat a little bit of non slider food at a time, then I am hungry again in a short while. The slider foods typically have more calories, salt and fat and a person gains more easily. I am fighting as hard now to not gain wt as I was fighting when I didn't have enough restriction. Best wishes. Mimi -
Tricare denied me - AGAIN!!
Mimilou2004 replied to AZArmyWife36's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Eadreel you have put out quite a bit of erroneous information about Tricare standards. Mimi -
