Yay i made it to the 140's!!!!!!!!!
Mimilou2004 replied to jen36's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are doing so well, congratulations!!!! Mimi -
I think that a .5cc unfill would be wonderful...you sound a tad tight and a little reflux can turn into significant reflux. Been there, done that. Good luck. Mimi

I feel your pain......I have been suffering with severe reflux and burning stomach issues for 4 months. I battled my wt because it was easy to turn to slider food. I finally got a small unfill and that has relieved my reflux and most all my symptoms. I was so scared that I had erosion and was going to lose my band. I knew I would be back to 236 in a short time. I wish you the best and I am so sorry you lost your band. All you can do is diet and exercise and keep your portions small. Mimi

First day here...don't have a date yet...
Mimilou2004 replied to Brooklyn732's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
LOL, Cocoabean, that was spot on!!!!! Welcome, NJSizzla. I am happy that you are cruising the threads and getting good info. Mimi -
Interesting posted responses, I hope the original poster reads them. Mimi

How many of you watch Biggest Loser??
Mimilou2004 replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am sure it is the 21st of September as one poster wrote. I have noticed that not all commercials give the date. I am excited for it to begin. I did get hooked on season 2 of Dance Your A** Off and it was really well done, a huge improvement over season 1. Mimi -
felling restricted yet not losing?
Mimilou2004 replied to galicianer's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Please do not get a fill, yet. Being overfilled is miserable and does indeed lead to consuming high calorie slider food. And sometimes significant heartburn, reflux, and stomach burning feeling. Mimi -
Needing a slight UNFILL BAD!! But scared to gain weight back!!
Mimilou2004 replied to claire0823's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Claire, I had my .15 unfill yesterday and all of a sudden today I realized I am not refluxing or having even 1/2 the amount of stomach acid burning that I have been living with since my last fill. I don't seem to be excessively hungry, either, and am looking forward to not relying on high calorie slider food. I wish that you didn't have to wait 2 more weeks for relief. Best wishes, Mimi -
Excellent question....it could go either way but usually they won't let you leave until you can keep down water. Good luck, Mimi

I had a consult today about moving the port and converting to a low profile and it is insanely expensive. If my insurance (Tricare Standard) won't help pay for it I will have to put up with my Alien protruding from my midriff. I am saving my $$ for a thigh lift which I need even more than the port. If I wear a one piece foundation garment Alien doesn't show, much at all. The doctor was a little miffed that I didn't call him when I had my TT, he said that was the ideal time to change over. Mimi

How many of you had plastic surgery covered by insurance?
Mimilou2004 replied to blackcherry2002's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Good question....I was told they don't cover it under any circumstances. Now thaT IS NOT TO SAY THAT THERE AREN'T SOME mILITARY hOSPITALS DOING IT, JUST NOT UNDER tRICARE. Sorry for the caps, my finger slipped and I didn't want to retype. Mimi -
Getting my arms done would love to hear from people who have had theirs done!

Mimilou2004 replied to Wishes4444's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I had it done in Jan of this year and I am fairly pleased, also. I can't take as good of pictures as SH can, though. I don't know how to turn my flash off, but my results are very similar to hers, adjusting for our age discrepancy, LOL. I am NOT sorry I had it done. Best wishes. Mimi -
SIL, you are looking great and I like your idea of a bike....the other thing until the poster loses a lot more wt is just walking while holding light handwts. Good luck, Harliquinn, Mimi

I agree with LM, please go back and get a small unfill. You have waited long enough to see if it is temporary swelling. Best wishes, Mimi

Does it hurt for you to sit after weight loss?

"Should I Stay or Should I Go"?
Mimilou2004 replied to gracierose's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I wish I had gone home!!!!! No one ever came to help me go to the bathroom with my IV and they didn't give me pain relievers when it was time and I asked for them. Mimi -
Interesting question!!!!! It doesn't stop the mental craving/desire for food, but it certainly limits how much you can eat at one time of non slider food. Slider food would be like chips/dip, milkshakes, ice cream, sugary drinks, stuff like that. Mimi

Newbie here, but banded in 2002
Mimilou2004 replied to ebethsb's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Best wishes on restarting your journey. I am glad you have the band to help you. I understand your ice cream love....I ate a huge amount yesterday, then realized what I had done and made a vow to stick to buying small quantities....notice I didn't say I vowed to never have it again!!!!!! Mimi -
Afraid of cosmetic surgery!
Mimilou2004 replied to velvets143's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Like SueHam, I am thinking about my thighs getting worked on and have already had arms, breasts, and simple Tummy tuck done. I agree with SH about the minimal pain. I just had my under eyes done and they hurt the worst and were the smallest job!!!! Don't live with that jelly belly, you deserve a nice little belly after all your hard work. Mimi -
Keep soaking it several times a day and using a bandaid with antibiotic ointment. Try to see you doc early in the week, that way if it is infected you will be on antibiotics for long enough pre-op for it to probably be a non issue. Good luck, Mimi
-
YIPPEE!!!! You have done very well and I know you will continue! Mimi

I have the same problem and am so tired of the burning. I have an appt Thursday to discuss moving my port and changing to a low profile and will tell him I want a small unfill to see if that will help the burning. Good luck, Mimi

Are there any Smashing Pumpkins Oct 08?
Mimilou2004 replied to MississippiGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations on your wonder wt loss....that is nothing to sneeze at!!!! It does sound like you could put off your Sept fill for a while....it sure does get expensive. The scarring will fade a lot...there is some kind of cold laser treatment I am having done on my arm scars and if it works well I may think about my belly scar. I would rather have the scars than the extra skin, for sure!!!! Good luck on your last few pounds!!!! Mimi
