I agree with BamBam. I read the article a few times and have come to the same conclusion. We ingest many things we don't know about but I think as long as we keep our fluid intake high we can flush a lot of these things through fairly quickly. I, too, experienced anxiety when I read the article and didn't buy any MM the other day when I was going to. Maybe CR will run a follow up and find that the companies fixed the problem...I will watch for such an article. Mimi

AZPete I hope you are OK...I have had 2 small unfills for the same symptoms of reflux, etc and I throw up a lot so am always hungry. Enter stage left...slider food like milkshakes, ice cream, etc. I am up 7 pounds and I hate it!!!! Good luck, Mimi

cant find the portal

RUN, do not WALK to find a different doctor...he sounds downright scary!!!! Mimi -
I cut back on many things to have a Personal Trainer (PT) and I have NO regrets. Starting sooner rather than later helps keep motivation strong. The weekly measuring and weigh ins helped keep me on the path to success. Now that I am at maintenance I am going to drop to twice a week with the PT and do my treadmill three times a week. I wish you well and hope you can find a PT as great as mine. Mimi

I feel your pain, even though I only lost half your wt. I have had the arms, boobs, and tummy done and am going to a consult for thighs in a few weeks. I wish I had gone about things differently as far as planning, though. Please try to find a bariatric Plastic Surgeon to consult with now so you can have a plan and know the costs. I had no idea (and my LB practice was no help) that my town had a specialist in body contouring after massive wt loss. I wouldn't have done things piece meal as I have done. Make no mistake...you will trade that loose jiggly wobbly skin pockets for a trim figure....but you will have scars for a couple of years. The journey is long and hard and thin ppl don't understand that the reconstruction is for US, not the world!!! I wish you the best and hope you keep posting your wonderful progress. Mimi

You have done so well...your figure is great....where is your port? I couldn't see it! I am glad you are OK and not seriously hurt. Best wishes. Mimi -
Fanny, it is nice to know you are around and doing well. I always enjoyed your posts. Good luck with your tweaks! Mimi

Do you go to a Gastro or Family doc for stomach problems?
Mimilou2004 replied to outside*looking*in's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree that you should only go to your lap band doc for stomach problems. I wouldn't let any non band doc scope me. Persist with your LB doc. Mimi -

Latest fill - too much?
Mimilou2004 replied to TXAmy07's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Since you are tolerating liquids you will be OK to wait and see over the weekend. If you can't tolerate anything but liquids by Monday I would ask for a small unfill, The great thing about the band is if you get a little unfill and later in a few weeks start getting hungry etc, you can always get another fill. Good luck, Mimi -
I, too, an sorry for your loss. Can you convert to a vertical gastric sleeve? Do you have any idea why your band caused erosion? Mimi
-
Nope, I do sit ups and crunches and other core work 3 days a week and it is OK. Mimi

Just bought the Syntax Nectar Fuzzy Navel protein.. How do YOU prepare it?

3 fills in 1 month - anyone else???
Mimilou2004 replied to CSinTX's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am shocked at your doctor's actions and hope you will let us know how things develop as you start eating food. No one is attacking you personally, by the way, we are just shocked that you are on slider liquids and up to nearly max on your fills. Best wishes, Mimi -
Yes you can, I am sure. But it will taste NASTY!!!! Mimi

I agree with honk!!!! That $$ is wrong wrong wrong. Mimi -
The first thing to do is to always keep an Rx for Phenergan or Zofran or the like in your cabinet. It was probably the violent vomitting that helped your band slip. I wish you the best, you have done so well with your wt loss, I can understand your concerns about life w/o the band. Mimi
-
I have experienced what you are describing and I believe a small unfill is going to help...even .2 or .15 just might take you to the sweet spot. Please post after your decision and dr visit. Mimi

Did you have Lipo w/ TT?
Mimilou2004 replied to Cherishthepast's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Mine didn't do lipo and I have no waist line...I am square, rectangular really. I paid for a TT and got a panniculectomy.....as you can imagine, I am not thrilled with the PS!! Mimi -
Well, unless you are overly filled I wouldn't get an unfill for an endless food buffet cruise. Just my opinion, though. Many poster's have done cruises both ways, so you have to pick which is right for you. By the way, congratulations on your 30 pound loss...you are right on track averaging 1-2 pounds a week. It stinks that your port was so difficult to access. Best wishes and happy cruising, Mimi
