    CHAT problems again

Thanks, it will be wonderful if it is fixed. Mimi
  2. You obviously haven't gotten any restriction yet...your next fill you will have to be careful and cut back or you will get stuck. I feel pretty confident you will finally experience the band with your next fill. I got 3cc and then 4 wks later got 1.5cc and started to have restriction and I have to be very careful. Best wishes, Mimi

    worrisome chest pains

My chest bothered me after my second band surgery, which is when I also had a Hiatal Hernia repaired. I also experienced intense shoulder pain, both chest and shoulder pain off and on for several weeks. The gas is in your abdomen around your organs and not in your intestines like usual gas so the pain is different. I think you are experiencing normal discomfort, but as always, call your surgeon if you are in doubt. Walking increases blood circulation and speeds up the removal of gas from your body. Mimi

    It happened AGAIN!

    Excellent advice, HappyGirl.

Did you get a hiatal hernia repaired during lap band placement? Mimi

    Anyone else just.....exhausted!!

I am glad you both are posting again, it is good to see "old timers". I have noticed that when I lose wt my body settles in for a readjustment period then something inside tells me to start trying again. I was down to 117 and loving it when I had horrible reflux and esophagitis and ended up being unfilled for nearly 6 months and having to get a hiatal hernia repair and my lap band repositioned because my stomach had slipped up and over the band in 3 places. As you can see from my ticker I regained 20 pounds wich really bothers me. I am getting restriction back very slowly but the scale is not moving in any meaningful way. Then I realized I had stopped gaining which was a miracle. Now, like you both I am rededicating myself to getting back on the band wagon....when I took an honest look at my calories I was shocked at how many slider foods and liquid calories I had gotten used to while my stomach was so sensitive and giving me fits. I wish us all the best of luck and hope you all keep posting. Mimi

    possible slip?-update

You progressed really fast to a hard protein and just might be experiencing some anxiety and irritation fullness. If you keep it down stick to thick liquids or mushies for a few days. If you start vomitting you may need an unfill for your pouch to rest a week or 2. Best wishes, Mimi

    CHAT problems again

Well, I am not surprised that no one in authority responded, but I finally noticed the "Mark All as Read" button and that has helped...not perfect, but better. Mimi
  9. I think you need to call your surgeon's office and ask for an appt for an unfill....sounds like a small amount (like 0.25) would be helpful. Best wishes and post after your appt. Mimi

    Need some support

I don't think it is making excuses, I think your friend is spot on..... I hope it doesn't take you 6 months to regain restriction but it might, and there is nothing you can do to rush it. It is good you have stepped up your exercise. I was revised 11/30 and just this past week had my 2nd fill and am finally having some restriction. Your restriction will come, I promise. Best wishes, Mimi

    Starting to Exercise

Call your doc's office and see what they say. Mine said 2 wks I could do cardio, arms, legs, but 4 wks for abs/core because of the abdominal incisions needing to heal completely. Mimi

    Preparing for a fill

It is disheartening to see all the views and know that ppl couldn't be bothered to respond. Not making excuses for those viewers, but the board has been in a state of flux for weeks working not working, working a little, etc. I for one, have never seen your post. As you mentioned, grazing/snacking is not the best way to use the band, but I am happy for you that you gained so little wt. Going "on maintenance" every few months may not be a bad thing as it can give your body and mind time to adjust and shift. You made the decision on your own to make the band start working again for you and that is wonderful because it is probably a different motivation from when you started. The 2nd best thing I did for my self was to get a personal trainer...I hate exercise and without her gentle encouragement I would not be as healthy as I am. Best wishes and keep posting. Mimi

    CHAT problems again

I have written about this problem before.....the new posts are spread out over several pages of new and old mixed together...am I doing something wrong or is this a problem that needs to be fixed? It is very frustrating. Mimi

The New LBT is SO SLOW to me....

I am experiencing the difference....thank you. Mimi

    Tricare Approval

Eat a big meal, drink lots of water, don't tinkle ahead of time, and put rocks or rolled coins in your pockets and weigh in again!!!! Also have the doc specify you are big boned....it helps. 3 pounds is a small price to pay, in my opinion. Good Luck, Mimi
  18. Mel, it is usually diet as tolerated so progress at your own pace and good luck. I am glad you have a fill scheduled. Tracey, I gained like crazy, too, during my slip unfill and revision surgery and now after 4 months finally have some restriction back. I know what you mean about the former last 10 being an unhealthy wt loss and I have adjusted my goal upward because I don't want t lose wt like that again. Best wishes, Mimi
  19. LOL, what you said!!!!! Mimi
  20. If your illness involved barfing I would put off the fill as your tummy is very sensitive. Otherwise I agree with the poster who said if you are hungry go for it. By the way, sorry you were sick, but congrats on your 5 pound loss!!! Mimi
  21. Yes, please ask to be seen tomorrow. Besides an unfill the doc may want to do an endoscopy or Upper GI to rule out a slip. I lived with your symptoms much too long and almost lost my band. Best wishes, Mimi

    Sugar Free Gum

I chew 10-12 pieces a day with no problem except gas from swallowing air, I am addicted to the stuff and have never yet swallowed a piece. My practice has no restriction against it. Mimi

    Crap...too tight?

Your plan sounds good...sometimes even 0.25ml unfill is enough to enable you to eat a normal portion which will keep you full for 3-4 hours without grazing. Best wishes, Mimi

    It's official

I am sorry you are going through all of this. I am glad you made it through surgery and are recovering. I hope your gastroparesis resolves quickly. Mimi
