    My First "Real" Fill

LOL, now THOSE cues I can relate to!!!! Best wishes on your journey and do not get an adjustment any time soon!!!!! Mimi

    FULL AT LAST!!!!

Congratulations!!!!!! I wish my practice did fills with fluroscopy...it would have saved me a whole lot of money and distress. Mimi
  3. Well, I would choose to get to be pals with my elliptical....20 minutes at a time several times a day would be wonderful...I hope you have a TV in front of it...maybe record some evening programs and watch them while you E. Good luck, I went through the same thing and made friends with my treadmill and now use it even before work in the morning. Yes, it hurts but the scales and food journal are saying it is a good thing!!! Best wishes, Mimi

    Lap band slip

    Lap band slip

Good luck...I feel your pain. Mine was able to be repositioned and resewn down, but if it slips again I will be bandless and I don't thinl my insurance will pay for a revision. Mimi
  6. I hope and pray you don't have a slip...I am glad you are getting a scope...that will lead to a personalized plan of care. Best wishes, Mimi

    My Lap Band Slipped

Wow, you are being rushed into decision making very quickly w/o enough information. I wish you the best because it sure seems like the band wasn't properly placed to begin with. Let us know what happens, OK? Mimi

    My First "Real" Fill

Your experiences were interesting...thanks for posting. I don't get the same feelings as you, but I need to pay more attention to my cue. Every fill adjustment has to be relearned because the cues change. Mimi

    Soooooo dissapointed

I totally agree about the second opinion. I have been here daily for 3 years and time and time again read about both the hernia and band being done at the same time...including my own hernia repair and band reset. You can do both, don't shortchange yourself w/o getting another qualified opinion. Please keep posting as your story evolves. Good luck, Mimi

    Ideas for tricare appeal

Make sure you water load and hold your purse when you weigh in and point out to your doctor that you have a small frame. Mimi

Getting kicked out of the band!!!!

I never saw your post, either...I hope you didn't have your band removed...it sounds like you need a new band doc because he is not paying enough attention to you...that hernia can definitely be the source of your problems and I wouldn't be surprised if you have a small slip that is hard to see or comes and goes. Please let us know how you are doing. Good luck, Mimi
  12. I posted on a similar question and hope I don't bore anyone. I am 4 months post op from what you are facing and it has been just like starting all over again, including the journey to restriction, which I am still trying to attain. It has been no more painful or difficult than the original surgery...the one good thing is I knew what was coming and that made things easier. I gained close to 30 pounds from my lowest and am still struggling to get off those pounds. I have no regrets for getting the band or the re-positioning....my weight gain proved it is working for me. Best wishes, Mimi
  13. I agree with everything the other poster's said...please take it as it comes for a while..the good thing is that if you can't work it out with the lapband doc there is a good chance www.fillcentersusa.com would be close enough to get your needs taken care of. I am not currently using them but when I was having communication problems with my surgeon I checked into using fillcenters and found several within a 2 hour drive. Mimi
  14. Congrats on your early recognition of a potentially serious situation...even 0.15 or 0.25 ml adjustment/ defill could make a mega difference. Slider food is so easy to get fond of!!! Good luck, Mimi
  15. Excellent decision making, Rachael!!! After all, we are supposed to eat all foods but in reduced amounts for less calorie intake. Mimi

Afraid of being able to eat.

Some really good advice here for you......I was living too tight for months because I liked being very small.....I exercised like I was eating and kept my wt down..but my life was horrible...I love eating out socially and it came down to bathroom trips every time I ate anything. Acid refux and constant stomach burning.....Never again...Now I am 4 months post op band revision and still balancing exercise with food and beverages intake. I am going for a tiny adjustment next week and if it leads to suffering again I will have that same quantity removed ASAP!!! I agree you should be unfilled for at least 30 days and even gastroscoped to check your pouch and stomach. I extend much sympathy for what your are going through and wish you the best of luck. If you post some more about your journey I will be reading them. Mimi
  17. You need to see a therapist ASAP and I question your decision to get a lap band...think about it. Best wishes, Mimi

    Lap Band Revision

You will do well....I am 4 months post revision and hiatal hernia repair. It is like starting over...I am using all my knowledge to avoid being stuck or challenged and to baby my band..without resorting to slider food. Good luck, Mimi

    Unfill same as no band?

I have been unfilled several times during this journey and I will tell you every single time I have regained weight at a frightening speed because my appetite and ability to eat were the same as preband. If my stomach slips through my band again, I have already been told that I will lose the band permanently.....that scares the begosh out of me.
  20. Mimilou2004

    Is the band too tight

If you are not peeing several times a day you are not getting enough liquids and need to call the doc 1st thing in the morning....even if some is taken out it isn't the end of the world, you can always go back for more as needed. Dehydration is nothing to fool around with. Good luck, Mimi
  21. Mimilou2004

Going out to eat with the Band

Grilled chicken breast could be a disaster, depending on how tight you are.....I avoid it completely when out and I don't prepare it that way for myself. Be careful with soft doughy bread, too. It forms a lump in the pouch very easily. I eat out a lot and have learned what works and doesn't work for me. Good luck. Mimi

    Cracker Barrel

    Gotta Love CB!!!! Mimi
  23. 1200 cals should get you pretty good nutrition and your resting metabolic rate is at least 1200 cals, so you have at least 3500 cal a week deficit. I agree that doing the math should put you at about one and a quarter-two pound loss, plus, but sometimes it takes a week for things to shift...try not to fret too much for a couple of weeks. Mimi

does being overfilled hinder weight loss?

I totally agree with Sara... get in for an adjustment as soon as possible for your long term health and well being. Mimi
  25. Mimilou2004

    Possible unfill

Absolutely unfill before the weekend...even 0.25 ml can make a difference. Been there, lived it, hope it never happens again!! Best wishes, Mimi
