Mimilou2004 replied to TooFat4Ever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was wondering if you feel restriction or are you overfilled and relying on slider food? If you can afford a personal trainer for a few weeks it is a wonderful investment...they don't just exercise with you they help supervise your diet and provide motivation. I wish you the best.. Mimi -
Excellent results...I am glad you had a knowlegeable practioner!! I hope you reached your sweet spot. Mimi

Have a lump that formed above my belly button?!?
Mimilou2004 replied to hopetolose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it is probably a seroma....fluid leakage from the muscle being angry with having the port sewn in. Mine got huge and eventually went down...the body will reabsorb the fluid after the muscle heals. By all means check with your surgeon, though. Best wishes, Mimi -
Their advice makes sense, but the occasional indigestion is OK to use Maalox for....the docs just don't want you covering up symptoms by over using antiacids. When I was suffering a slip (not yet diagnosed) I was taking huge doses of all kinds of antiacids. Mimi

Okay I'm eating soft foods again but I need advice...

Amanda, I am thrilled that you are doing better!!!! I think you are back on the road to weight loss. Whew, that was scary, I am glad you got in touch with your doc. Mimi -
WOW.....good luck!!! my slip and hernia didn't show up til I was scoped...I hope everything goes well for you, you have been through a lot. Mimi

The sleeve actually removes part of your stomach and there is no band. There is a separate section on here somewhere for conversion to sleeve. Good luck, Mimi
-
I do wish you the best, you are in the position I will be in if I slip again. I have already decided that if I slip again I am going to get the sleeve. Mimi

It sounds like you have good restriction that you will learn to adapt to. If you start having problems in a few days when you go to solid food then you might need an unfill. Drinking and eating slowly is good. Best wishes, Mimi

Living with/conyinued weight loss with slippage
Mimilou2004 replied to cystep's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If I understand you right one of the doctors wants to keep you filled with a slip? And work with you? If that is correct, RUN in the other direction unless he can scientifically prove you will be OK in the long term....slips often result in worse complications from what I have been reading for the past 3 years and experiencing for the past year. Please let us know what you decide to do....I went for the unfill and revision. Best wishes, Mimi -
I had Fraxel laser on my face and neck on a few ocasions over the past 2 years. There is a small difference but not enough to justify all the $$ I spent!
-
I am sorry you are going through all of this, I can relate. The best advice I can give you is be kind to yourself, keep up with or increase your exercise and drink drink drink drink!!!! You will be too busy peeing to eat!!! If the worst case scenario happens and you gain 10, 20, 30 pounds, it just means your band has been working the way it should and it is on vacation. When your rest break is over and you get the band functioning again you will simply become a bandster again and will lose the gained weight. Hang in there. I wish you well,Mimi

Fantastic.....congratulations!! Thanks for posting and I love the pictures!! Mimi -
I am happy for you that you are a candidate for rebanding. My band was revised and Doc said if it slips again he can't save it or replace it. The 4 months I was completely unrestricted was he** so I understand how happy you are to be keeping your band. Best wishes, Mimi
