    scrambled eggs

I also have problems with eggs and just got done trying to eat them and had the same experience as you...I even drowned them in low cal/low carb ketchup for moisture. And omelets...forget it!!!! Mimi
  2. There is still anesthesia in your bones and fat and it sounds like you are dehydrated. Get up slowly to let your circulation even out, keep drinking, and be patient. My BP was very low for about 10 days so I didn't take my meds and followed my own advice. Don't be scared, you will get past this. Mimi

    Lap Band Removal

WOW!!!! I was just reading about the band being an exclusionary factor, but I am not sure if ever having one would be the same. You are wise to get settled a year out. I was also reading about revision surgery and the best advice I can give you is to tell your surgeon your problems and have him proceed with applying to Tricare for permission to remove for problems. The way I read it, they will pay if the band is causing problems....They have paid once for a revision for me and I am sure they will pay for a removal if it slips again... I am a 20 year Army Vet and wish you the best of luck with your career....when that check comes every month I am grateful I stuck with it. The army is not kind to heavy ppl. Mimi

    Port site infection

I hope it is a localized infection and not the band, that would really suck. Keep posting your progress.. Good luck. Mimi

    Starting over

I wish you the very best.....I totally understand about the wt gain, been there done that, started over, too, but I GAINED 29 pounds!!!! It was horrible and I got it back off but because of having to be so careful with fills I am constantly worrying about gaining again. Let us know about your ongoing journey. Mimi

    Anyone afraid of Failing??

I imagine that your fears and concerns are shared by the majority of readers, even if you don't get a lot of responses. I am > than 2 years out and by anyones's standards a success, yet I worry all the time about failing.....it is a journey for sure. Best wishes, Mimi
  9. I don't mean any harm but I haven't a clue as to your meaning...could you try to explain it another way? Mimi
  10. I think you would feel better with a tiny tiny (0.1-0.25) ml un-fill. If it turns out to be the wrong decision you can get it back...from harsh experience I now believe that when in doubt, adjust a little and try it. By now more than liquids should be tolerated. The rapid wt loss is a great ego boost, but soon will wear you down...maybe. Good luck and let us know. Mimi

    Breast implants and losing weight

Another factor is where the implant was placed...if it is under the muscle there will be less sag than if it is over the muscle. Mimi

Anyone eating 2800 - 3200 calories while banded????

That is a huge number of calories but at 315 you should still lose wt...eventually as your wt comes down so should your calorie consumption...I have read that each pound of scale wt needs 10-15 calories a day to sustain itself and maintain wt, It takes a 3500 calorie deficit to lose 1 pound.....that includes calories burned and calories omitted. Many ppl will argue that it isn't that simple, but in the long run I have found that it is that simple, barring fluid shifts from certain medication and salt intake. Best wishes on your journey and good for you for having a PT!!! Mimi
  15. I use lactose free milk and it tastes the same as regular milk....I even make my own yogurt from scratch with it. Mimi

I feel for you and hope you haven't slipped. Let us know. Mimi

    2 1/2 yrs after banding & Suddenly can't eat

It sounds like you might need to be checked for a slip and also get a slight unfill. The swelling caused more vomiting and vomiting causes swelling..You will probably never know why your band tightened. Congratulations on your fantastic wt loss. Best wishes, Mimi

    tricare prime north region

North South East or West, the requirements are the same for TRICARE and there is NO 6 month diet mandate. Mimi

    WOW...Okay! >.<

Am I the only one who has read all of Erin's posts from day 1? This is just one more thing in her litany of complaints and nothing we say is going to make her change. She might need to get the band out so she can fixate on some other malady in her life. Mimi

    keeping balance on treadmill

I like Acadia's way but the flip side is hold on til you are ready to let go....I held on for 1.5 years then realized how much stronger I was and gradually started letting go at 2mph and now can do 6mph without holding on for quite a while. When I am tired I still hold on sometimes and if my trainer increases my speed too fast. Holding on is the least of it....your starting to walk is marvelous and I am proud of you. Also, don't be afraid to start slow speeds. The moving and getting used to a routine of moving is the most important part. Were it not for walking on the TM I couldn't keep my weight in the maintenance zone. Best wishes, Mimi

    Someone Please Give Advice

I like Acadia's advice the best....something isn't right and you need to get to the bottom of it. It might be you have a fixable situation going on. I can't imagine being so filled and not having any physical restriction...especially if you are not eating slider food and eating around your band. As Acadia said, if it not the band, you will have that proof and can attack the situation from another angle. Best wishes. Mimi

    Have you become Lactose Intolerant

I think it is a bigger problem than doctors and patients know. Every time I read a post about diarrhea and gas I think...aha, it has happened to someone else, too. I am slowly regaining my ability to tolerate small amounts of dairy but try to stick to lactose free milk....I even make my own yourt with lactose free milk. Good luck, Mimi
  24. I think you need a very small unfill....being too tight can lead to all sorts of complications and everyhing you describe is shouting, "TOO TIGHT"!! You can always get more put back after a while if you need to, Please reconsider. Mimi

    taking medicine capsules any advice

The capsules should dissolve pretty fast...this might be a silly question but have you tried to take 1 cap every 3 or 4 minutes with a warm drink? I admire you for tolerating taking it the way you have. Your only other option is to ask for another med...may I ask what the med is? Mimi
